Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Remakes Announced for 3DS

I say get the DS games later if you still feel like it by then. They'll hold up just fine.
Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I'm a bit concerned about how difficult they are to find (specifically Heartgold/Soulsilver), but I guess there are always copies bumming around ebay.

Would rather get a remake of emerald.
I prefer to face both team magma and aqua.

Well, HGSS did implement Crystal's storyline. FRLG didn't do the same for Yellow so who knows. It could happen that you still fight both teams but will only be able to catch the box legendary and Rayquaza.

guys guys guys

what if we get a new Deoxys form?

Agreed. Lets just stop hating on generations then, since every single one of them had flaws.
And every Pokemon game is AWESOME

I hope they don't reinvent the old designs too much, though. Gen 3 probably had my favourite trainer designs of all.

Didn't HGSS force you to confront the Box Legendary before the Elite 4? Maybe these will play out like Emerald but the one on the box hangs around in Sootopolis till you catch him?

Oh you sweet summer child.

I started with Red and Blue. I've played every gen. None of them have come close to the masterpieces that were Gen II (and the Gen II remakes). Day/Night system, Introduction of Breeding, 16 badges, 2 regions, the battle with red, the legendaries, no Pokemon game has come close to introducing as many awesome features as Gen II. Gen III was a tremendous step back (although it did introduce some great Pokemon).

Wat

How did this get stealth announced like that?

Uh? It's calling breeding with a 6IV god ditto, and XY already streamlined the systems to make breeding and training ridiculously simple and less time consuming.

I don't think that's an appropriate way to deal with IVs. Overall, I think it's a dumb inclusion in an attempt to diversify pokemon.

Yellow was never the real third version though. That was actually Blue

Yellow didn't change the plot in any dramatic way either. It mostly just plopped a few extra NPCs on the map.

You had to face them, but you didn't have to catch them in the first battle... which is becoming a trend lately.

It's nostalgia that's making you think that. It's cool, it happens to the best of us.

Anyway, I'm really hoping Megas aren't pushed aside for like storyline reasons or se crap like that.

The changes made in Gold/Silver were incredibly minor gameplay wise compared to stuff that came later. Breeding was a big deal, but it was refined so much more later on, and stuff like the physical special split and abilities are way more important in battling, the main form of actual gameplay

No one mentioned Battle frontier. It makes a return!!

I seriously hope there's a wifi battle frontier where the frontier brain is like the top #1 person on the wifi board. That would be cool

I maintain that gen 2 only maintains it's rep due to having the extra 8 badges. The problem being that the way things were scaled by the time you got to kanto the whole thing was a complete joke in terms of difficulty until you got to fighting Red

To you. To me and some other people, Gen II is far from being a masterpiece. In fact, I think it was decent at best. I have also started with Red and Blue, that means nothing.

Are you able to read ?

I responded to someone who had the idea that we could have a Kanto remake of games that were already remakes (FR/LG), instead of having a Sinnoh remake because they were released before the 4G. It isn't consistent. You don't make a remake of a remake.
Why are you so hostile?

It doesn't have to be one or the other. They could remake both, the case still stands that FR/LG are older than 4th gen whether you want to get mad about it or not.

Well, hey.

I played a ton of Blue, and then beat Gold as well, but kind of didn't continue with the series after that (other than also getting the remakes FireRed and HeartGold).

I bought Black hoping to get back into the series, but hardly spent any time with it.
Also bought X hoping to get back into the series, and, while I spent more time with it than Black, still didn't get too far in it.

But, considering all of my time spent with Blue and Gold, maybe getting into Alpha Sapphire will work.

Gen I is still the best
And, Blue is the main version

Don't worry, we'll finally be able to ride that SPACESHIP!!! in Mossdeep and go to the moon!

plz gamfreak :*(

I think you're forgetting something.

Remember how in RBY Amnesia was the best move in the game?

Yellow wasn't the third version of Gen1, JPN Blue was. Yellow is pretty much an anime story adapted romhack of Blue.

Can we just get a Pokemon game that allows us to travel to each region that has been featured thus far? I want nth number of badges. :[

Well I guess I can go ahead and play the Pokemon Crystal fan remake (Liquid Crystal) in peace knowing it won't be remade any time soon.
