Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Remakes Announced for 3DS

Mega Drizzle: Permanent rain, just like the old days

Mega Drought: Permanent sun, just like the old days. Also, give Groudon Flare Blitz.

Mega Lock: Prevents mega evolution or weather effects as long as Mega Rayquaza is out

:-D

Oh...

Wow. My memory's bad.

I'm pretty sure the mega will have a second type too. Kyogre has bolt designs and Thunder was a typical move for it so probably Water/Electric. Groundon has lava everywhere and it could learn some strong Fire attacks like Eruption and Fire Blast so Ground/Fire. And these will be the changes pretty much.

People said the same about gen6 rep in smash, anything can happen.
I mean it could... But it probably won't haha. Sceptile is probably the least popular of the three starters from 3rd gen, and he's not exactly on the same level as the other characters. I'm expecting the already revealed ones plus Jigglypuff and Mewtwo.

Also, at least one person knew about the XY Pokemon.

YES! I'm definitely getting Omega Ruby. Still have my Ruby cartridge, but I'm always looking forward to Pokémon remakes because they do them so well. Doubt the Pokémon following you feature would come back, but I'd love for it to happen.

I'll be picking May, like I did with my first Ruby game. Maybe I'll even try to reform my first team.

That would make sense, since Kyogre brings heavy storms and Groudon brings the wrath of a giant ball of fire. The nice thing about those typings is that they would (kinda) fix the way Groudon isn't supereffective against Kyogre.

Unfortunately, that will be compensated by Kyogre being 4x (6x in rain!) effective against Groudon.

I just realised that they will probably have to remove the Game Corner, since they don't bother with it at all after that EU law came in :(

Yeah... At least earthquake will be neutrally effective then! Even in rain it wouldn't really be hurt.

US better get these borders!

It's finally happening!

That seems pretty plausible.

I wonder what Mega Rayquaza will be like.

Why not just do the Emerald Remake? riiight. they want to milk this remake for all its worth.

We better be able to catch all of the Regis, and the Lati twins.

People are surprised? This is perfectly in keeping with the pattern they established what, a decade ago?

Back on the GBA?

I'm still going with them being alternate forms named "Omega Groudon" and "Alpha Kyogre" and not Megas. I think they are sorta "Awakened" forms like Origin Giratina. I guess we'll see pretty soon though.
I feel like that'd be a huge step back though. Did anyone ever enjoy alternate forms?

Already!?

Hopefully they optimize the engine a bit more. But other than that seeing a 2d pokemon world fully converted into 3d is going to be sweet.

I don't even... I was away from GAF for most of the day, then I F5 the topic list and see this... my face went like this: o.o --> 0.0 --> O.O Gen 3 was one of my favorites along with Gen 2 so I couldn't be more happy about this stealth announcement! :D More secret bases please!

Finally I will get to play Sapphire again after my GBA cartridge got stolen back in the day :(

Gold/Silver remakes had all of the Crystal content, imo that's reason enough to think that Ruby/Sapphire remakes will do the same.

I'm expecting this too.

I was totally expecting them to go with Ruby Red and Sapphire Blue, though. Y'know, because pandering.

So I've traded up my Pokemon since playing Ruby. Currently my Groudon I caught in Ruby is on my X save file. When I transfer my Ruby pokemon to OmegaRuby, that's gonna be surreal.

If I remember right, I'm pretty sure HeartGold and SoulSilver had all the stuff Crystal had.

I have to find my copy of HeartGold. and im just bitter because as players we should be able to get all the pokemon available in a Gen by just using the Two/Three games that are released.

the whole Event thing is a good way to grow a community but it punishes the people that dont have time to go to Gamestop/EB/(insert retailer).

The trend was 10 years after the original. They originally missed it so that's why people were worried that they weren't making one. Also it's actually possible to transfer pokemon from gen 3 to gen 6 compared to gen 1 and 2 where it's flat out impossible

I wonder how the games will explain this.
"Groudon has returned to Hoenn after all these years."

I enjoyed some of them. Deoxys is cool, Rotom is sweet, Burmy/Wormadam has a neat gimmick even if she's not all that strong, and Aegislash is just badass.
Oh, I completely agree. I was thinking more of stuff like Origin Giratina and Sky Shamin. Those always bothered me for some reason. I mean I know you need items for Megas, but the fact that you can trade the stones makes them seem more accessible.

Unless we get a patch though, I could see the new ones being forms rather than Megas if only because it'll keep them ORAS exclusive.

Gen 2 Pokemon were all available by the time Heart Gold and Soul Silver were announced.

Remakes are more about nostalgia than providing old Pokemon.

I think the names are of biblical origins.

In the Bible, God created water first, then land (technically, land was third in the creation order, correct me if I'm wrong).

That would explain Alpha (first) Sapphire (water) & Omega Ruby (earth).

So I just noticed the disclaimer in the video that the game won't be fully 3D... AGAIN. :(

Why gamefreak, why. Hope they at least fixed the framerate in the battles with 3d on.

Anyway still hyped as fuck!!

Origin Giratina is neat; I like how it's balanced somewhat with the normal Giratina.

The Kyurem forms weren't well done; White Kyurem is absurdly more powerful than Black Kyurem, who has no physical Ice moves beyond a Giga Impact variant.

Sky Shaymin is bullshit. Fuck that stupid deer.

I'm not the only one excited to see Flannery in 3D, right?

She's no Lorelei, but she'll do.

I'm really worried at the fact they might not be direct remakes. If it's a sequel or whatever, it will just give them an excuse to fix things that don't need fixing.

"Dramatic new world" in particular is upsetting, because of those of us whom call Hoenn their favorite region, after waiting a while for these remakes, it would be pretty damn upsetting if the new Hoenn is only a shadow of what it was in the original games.

Yeah, I get what you're saying.

It's not as bad as it used to be since we have the GTS now. I'd wish they'd make more events online because I totally missed out on Meloetta and Genesect.
