Yeah I'm not seeing the similarities either, this looks more like a platformer hybrid type of game.

Would rather have this than Infamous, which I found kind of boring, tbh.

Don't think I'll be able to own the game ever but it looks amazing. No hate coming from me. I hope other developers can learn from each other so we all can just enjoy great gaming this generation.
 
Gamers are pretty damn annoying these days. We are so damn nit picky. This does remind me of the old Dreamcast days when games were just fun.

- Traversal looking good

- Animations look weird and floaty

- No confirmation of native 1080p or 60fps, which is weird, considering 1. it's Insomniac and 2. it's technically not that impressive

Overall, seems solid. Won't sell me an Xbox One but it looks good.

game looks visually stunning and also this isn't even the night scenario they're touting about so that might just add a whole new level of interest too - so happy this is turning out great

That describes every other insomniac game. It is the old PS2 animation engine without physics or mo-cap. Same problem games that use older engines like Madden/FIFIA 11 (till they moved to physics based collision), Boderlands etc.

Insomniac engine has been their weakest point. Rendering, Physics, Animation is still stuck in the PS2 world.
 
It looks good.

BUT

I'd personally want a create a character mode for a game like this, putting my likeness in the protagonist, for me to get hyped and trady for day 1.

But this game is on my radar.

I know what you mean, though your tone isn't exactly perfect. As an owner of both I really dislike exclusives and ever since how awful Titanfall looked and the downgrading Forza received I'm really skeptical about Xbox One exclusives.

At least Ryse looked good, I suppose.

I must be getting old. :[
Looking at the gifs and there is so much going on at once I get a bit of a headache, lol. Sliding, shooting, jumping, creatures running everywhere, shit blowing up, things flying... me fookin' head!

Knowing Insomniac, I'm sure it'll be fun though. With all of the grimdark stuff being made it's good to have some more colorful, silly games.

I don't think it'll be a big-time system seller, but hopefully it reminds people that Insomniac is the real deal.
I'm looking forward to seeing more... if my head can handle it. ;)

Just watched the video, it lucks fucking amazing, so pleased for Insomniac. Looks like Crackdown with a massive dose of Jet Set Radio, so basically brilliant.
Whole thing looks so colourful and fun, really can't wait to see more.

weirdly, this had (still has with improvements) the biggest draw for me at last years E3, this and "below". but seeing this footage has completely killed my hype. it's had the same effect as the crappy car gif from watchdogs. i just hope insomniac buff things up to make it look decent, they have potentially 5-6 months if they intend to launch 2014, so it's possible....becasue it would be a hell of a shame to waste such a great art style.
