No, it's not.

As far as I know, the PS2 engine was not a modified J&D engine. Their PS3 engine was also brand new, as was their multiplat engine for FUSE. This engine is likely also separate from all the others.
 
It looks really great!

And look - the gameplay we all expected from Bioshock Infinite!

I will say... as I kind of expected... it shares a lot visually with Fortnite
 
So the leak a while back:

Sunset Overdrive is set in some weird fucking future (like 2020)

Everyone drinks this fucking drink, Overcharge XT or whatever and you either turn into one of these giganto monsters or you die.

This big corp (Microsoft, lol) takes control of the city trying to wipe this shit out, because its their drink and they fucked up.

Supposedly there is managed content that will be developed for an entire year, as it is an open/breathable world.

It can still be personable. Think about games like Mass Effect and Dead Rising 3. An insane amount of customization for the main protagonist without it lacking being personal.
 
Got damn...sony better be bringing some colorful cartoony games to E3, because PvZ and especially this are making me want an XB1.....looks fantastic...
 
This looks really fun! I love the bright colors. Boss battle looks interesting as well. If I were on the market for another console...this would be a really convincing reason to pick up an X1.
 
Looks damn pretty, but I'm not sold on the gameplay yet. TPS that looks a lot like InFamous. Which is cool, but I need to see more.

Are you implying that I'm sexist because I'd much rather play as a fully-fledged character than an avatar? Me, the guy who raves about Gravity Rush's Kat at every opportunity.

This is the most interesting looking Insomniac IP since Ratchet in 2002. I hope this gen bodes well for Insomniac than the last. Resistance and Fuse style can die in fire and Ratchet is getting tired and boring.

I personally see this as a start of a great friendship between MS and Insomniac. I mean they get to keep their IP while MS funds and does the marketing, and MS knows how to spend on marketing.

And I feel they were always treated as the ginger headed step child with Sony last gen. Insomniac are now finally comfortable in their own skin.

it's not being picky imo. it's that standards have increased and while yes, it doesn have old school arcade/dreamcast vibes which are great...that's no excuse to have animations and movement from the dreamcast era. i just want it to move as great as it looks.
 
Actually looks pretty good. Not enough to get me to budge on X1, of course, but it certainly seems Insomniac is going to get out of their mediocre slump of the past few years. Does remind me of a scaled back infamous though (and of course that's not bad since I did love infamous).
 
I didn't bother to continue after 5secs of that spanish clip.

Are there any more upload with english or just the game sound ?

Not ideal, but better. I do rate Mass Effect 2 highly after all. I just had it in my head that this game had your standard protagonist, and Insomniac have a history of affable leads, so I was looking forward to play as one.

It's not a DEAL-BREAKER by any means, I'm just disappointed. Probably shouldn't have written "massively dwindled" as that's a bit of an exaggeration.

I just saw the gifs and that's what it felt like to me. Again, that may be totally off once I see the full video but I'm just going by the few seconds of gifs. Not a bad thing at all

Edit: so having seen the video, not quite the same impression though I still get infamous lime vibes. Now that's just me, and it may be because I have it fresh in mind

He might be referring to the Director system, which is a pretty smart spawn system.

The E3 reveal trailer did nothing for me, but seeing this game in action makes me really want it. Plus comparisons to games like JSRF and THPS don't hurt at all lol.

I get what is being said. Even Mass Effect's main character had am identity, iwould say Commander Sheppard is a more well known name than Ezio, Cole, Booker, and others. There's a difference between tailoring a character to your tastes than a character that is a complete blank slate, name and all.

Not sure which path Sunset Overdrive takes. Game does look fun though.
 
Love the art style and the gameplay looks like fun but the animations need some serious work for me. It look so clunky and stiff. I mean when turning there is no animation the character simply goes 180 instantly. Even if it increases the pace of the game i think it something that is not visually pleasing and should have died last gen.

Also don't get the hype for the "liquid" when it is static. I mean look at when he hits the car and it wobbles the thing the shoot into it stays still and clips through the whole car. If it had moved and the orange soda would have followed that I would have been impressed.
