More third person shooters need traversal systems like this in place. There's only so long you can you can go with these games having slide to cover as the only other option than shooting your weapon.

It also helps that these guys have made some of the greatest platformers of all time.

._. It won't hurt to say you liked what you saw! I could feel the frustration when you were typing that jump out of my monitor.

Oh, I like what I saw alright. The art is great, movement looks fun, and gameplay looks really interesting. It certainly looks like a combo breaker of the slump insomniacs been in and I'm excited to see where it goes. Not frustrated at all, I'll eventually get to play it, even if I have to wait a few years to buy myself a used X1 on the cheap (or sooner if MS u deducts the PS4 at E3)

Going by those gifs and the video this is one of the prettiest games I've seen. I hadn't even really thought about buying Xbone but after seeing this, man....

I do hope Insomniac hasn't abandoned PS4 or perhaps will try making PC titles as well in the future.

More goodness.

Customization in general is good, but when it's to the point of creating your character then you're just playing as a blank slate, and I hate that shit. Just a personal gripe of mine, but it's kind of a big deal.

I totally get this. It's the thing I hated most about Modnation Racers. I like customization to a point, but I hate thinking my character is just a bunch of thrown together parts. I also don't really have much artistic flair so it ends up being a chore.

I noticed that the wisp of motion following the player changes color. Does that have to do with the 'style' meter mentioned in the details? I:E, the higher the style is, the faster you go?

Surprisingly, different people have different opinions. That's doesn't mean they're "trying to get the hype train going," whatever that means. It means they have different opinions. I think it looks great, both visually and from a gameplay perspective.

AMEN brother!

Reveal looks great.

noobasuar liking a game? I didn't think I'll live to see that day.

people didn't seem to catch onto it after infamous 1/2/3, so i doubt they will after this. but maybe that's a good thing? makes them special.

Infamous isn't a shooter though.

Game looks amazing but the animations are "off" somehow. Can't explain it but take a closer look at the wallrunning part. And it seems only main char's animations are wonky cause the monsters sure animate correctly when scaling the walls etc.

The game's customization systems are expansive as well. Not only can you precisely tailor your character from a huge number of body parts and clothing pieces, but an Amps system lets you craft weapons and other tools to help you along the way. Recipes scattered around Sunset City require cans of Overcharge to be combined with other items to craft Amps; weapons each have Amp slots, which serve to upgrade them with powers that go well beyond simple stat buffs (though you get those, too).

So good!

High Five to everyone on now on the SO Bandwagon/Train.

It's like a slower infamous mixed with dead rising. Art style is phenomenal though.

Really hope there's more enemy variety than what's on display here.

See my post above for the first bolded part. Look at screenshots for the second bolded part.

It appears there are a massive amount of custom weapons/buffs/"powers". I'm sure "speed" buffs and abilities are on the list.

There appear to be quite a few enemy types in screens alone. From basic grunts, melee and gunner/sniper enemies, to large environment based mutants. (See the one that looks like it's melded with an excavator).

erm, have you played infamous? of course it is. it's "guns" just happen to shoot from your hands

pistol? check
machine gun? check
shotgun? check
rocket launcher? check
sniper rifle? check
grenades? check

it has all the staple shooter weapons, just diplayed via lighting/smoke/neon/...

Also, that was by far the best motion blur I have ever seen. Even superior than the planetside 2 blur at ultra.

Saw the vid on my phone, I could bbe wrong :p

I really dont understand how anyone who likes video games could look at this footage and hate on it. It's going to have awesome weapons and what looks like really good platforming. Plus the game LOOKS really nice.

i'm really really impressed. Was not hyped for this before but now! WOW!

The mobility is nice though, you gotta admit.
That is the one thing I like coming from the MS console exclusives (Titanfall) that I hope will spread to other games.

I think that "trailing"-effect looks terrible though, because the game isn't nearly fast enough for a "trail" to look natural. It'd be like giving sonic's speed trail to mario.

It looks infamous, crackdown, prototype to me....

Nothing new

Ok, I was sold when I saw that massive mushroom cloud with "BOOM" roiling in the center of it. This art style is completely rad.

Looks visually interesting (I thought insomniac was dead after fuse, guess they still got it)

Gameplay and leveldesign should be fine too if it's like the r&c games (just not all4one)

Nice to see a new IP and a colorful game and it's not even a covershootbang!

Uncharted reeeally needs it for exempel, just think how nice it would be to remove the worst parts of Uncharted (the cinematic climbing sections) and add a real traversal mechanic like this one. Mmm...
