I hope they add some more Pokemon to the Hoenn dex so certain areas aren't as repetitive with Pokemon (mostly water and cave areas)

Obviously Pokemon like Probopass, Gallade, Frolass, Dusknoir, Budew, Roserade and Rhyperior will be added (they're lesser forms are in RS), like in HG/SS, but some other Pokemon unrelated to old ones would work just fine.

A new version of Shellos/Gastrodon for example would be really amazing, considering it was supposed to be in Ruby and Sapphire anyway.

I'm looking at the greek alphabet on wiki. If they do give him a new form and change its design slightly, it'll be harder to guess. Looking at its current design, they could use omicron, theta, or phi.

So, the Daisuki Club got this e-mail today (only just got pointed to it, I just ignored it this morning and didn't bother reading)



The last three bits are interesting.

It ends up pointing out the differences to Groudon & Kyogre on the box-art, stating that they're showcasing "never before seen Pokémon", the same terminology they used for Black & White Kyurem, as well as Mega Mewtwo Y upon their reveal, indicating that they are more than stylised artwork of the Pokémon.

In all honesty I don't think we'll get a new RayQway at all, unless Groudon and Kyogre end up being Megas. Cover legendary mega stone is exclusive to each game, and then both get RayQway.

Rayquaza is as much a legendary as Groudon and Kyogre in RS. Not having him get a new form while they do would be really strange.

I imagine the story itself will even be more like Emerald.

Middle evolutions are almost always terrible though, outside of a few exceptions (Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Bayleef, Quilava, Grovyle... Frogadier I guess?)

I find it frustrating and baffling that so many people complain that Nintendo is doing nothing interesting, worthwhile or original with the Wii U, and yet so many people are bouncing off the walls with excitement over Nintendo remaking the worst Pokemon game just a decade after its initial release.

This will be the first Pokemon RPG release I do not buy. Zero interest.

My nostalgia for this game is very, very strong but I have to agree with the sentiment.

They just need to fix the the way you catch Feebas and visit Mirage Island. Both were BS of the highest order. and lower the encounter rate of other water pokemon

I have to say that is no way to announce a game. I understand they were desperate to counter bad news from the financial report but still. At least give some gameplay. Beyond that I'm still having hard time getting hyped. X/Y not quite living to my personal expectations might have something to do with it. It just isn't such a good experience if you're tightly single player focused gamer. Beyond that I find it rather baffling that they aren't going to get full 3D for this game either. If Smash manages it at 60FPS with the graphics it has shown then there should be no excuse. Although with almost 15 million units of X/Y sold maybe people just don't care all that much. With Sapphire and Ruby I would have maybe wanted to see a new story in Hoenn (maybe kind of like what Kanto was in G/S/C but expanded). In any case this will be on my radar.

On a side note it's always cheering to see how eagerly the Pokémon fanbase welcomes these games.

They especially need to add some fire types. If I remember correctly your only choices for fire types were Torchic, Numel, Torkoal and Slugma.

Mudkip/Marshtomp are so OP in the early part of the game. Wattson can't even get a stab hit on you. Plus I always choose the water starters.
