Game looks really a good Insomniac title, I'll see what reviews and impressions are like when the game comes out, might have to get an Xbox One for this and Halo 5!

What's disappointing about the graphics since you didn't care to elaborate?

The IQ looks bad.

There is aliasing issues everywhere, and things like power-lines, which are everywhere, look like broken lines.

The art style looks fantastic, put it is a technical disappointment.

This kind of game begs for crisp IQ.

That said, they still have time to fix it up, but I keep saying that for every game, and after Titanfall and now Advanced Warfare, my hope is a bit crushed.

It looks pretty good for an X1 game though. I'm just going to assume it'll be 900p

My first thought was Jet Set Radio when I saw this and it looks ridiculously fun. Interest has gone up tenfold for this game. Any word how many players this game supports for coop?

Yeah no doubt that when it's all said and done PS4 will have loads of great exclusives. I'm just saying that the early perception is that the Xbone just keeps getting great exclusives, while the PS4 is stalling a bit. Guess we'll see at E3.

Let's have this conversation after E3...

Huh?

They are capable of making awesome games, and they have before. They've also made games that aren't very good at all, like some of their recent games.

The one thing I DON'T like is that Insomniac is [for all intents and purposes] preventing the majority of their established fanbase, like me, from even playing their new game, which looks amazing.

Name 1 bad (as in not fun) game made by Insomniac. Even Fuse was fun in co-op.

As for the game beeing exclusive, I thought this as a MS IP, no?

I don't get the "I will never be able to play it" posts. Why? Money concerns I can understand but things drop in price as time passes.

For some people it's moneu for others it's just a sort of moral issue I suppose. I could, fo example, purchase an X1 right this moment but I refuse to pay the price MS is asking because I'd feel stupid for doing so (paying more for something that's should be worth less). That's my own view on it, which is why I'm waiting for $399 with Kinect or $350 without it.

Wow, you saw a lot more than I did.

Resistance 2 crapped all over what made Resistance 1 good. A4O and FF were crappy money grabs used to fund their other games, Fuse was terrible, and Into the Nexus was average at best. Resistance 3 was just okay. So there you go

Yeah I understand where you are coming from.

Fanboys starting to ruin the thread.
I hope they all get perma banned. Would help prepare the forum for E3 too.

I didn't say bad. Fuse is not a very good game. R&C Full Frontal Assault is not a very good game. Resistance 2 is not a very good game. R&C All 4 One is not a very good game. That's not to say they're bad.

Also, no, it's not MS's IP, but I'm sure MS is funding it since they're doing the publishing.

Who/what are you talking about?

The official video is just outstanding! Thanks for posting that early. As much as I liked the target eyes face thing, the boxart is gorgeous. Would love to see a bigger version of that. Just can't wait for this. Is the full campaign coop too? Or is it just a few missions you can do with a buddy?

It reminds me of the Sega days, it looks fun. It has great art style, something that's been missing from past Insomniac's games. Don't have an Xbox one but this game has brought up my interest in the console. One game is not enough to get to buy a console am more hype about MS after seen this. Can't wait for E3...

Graphics Smaficx, the best thing I got out of that trailer were that the factions are all over the place. Which obviously will seriously influence the crazy weapon combos and attack / design styles of attacks.

Swirling out tornadoes, doing attacks with rip-off master swords, fighting LARPers who will probably be trying their best to rip off D&D style magic spells... should help bring a lot more personality to the game than "guns, with guns, with a side of guns!" Much like the "BOOM!" Explosion, I like that the Teddy Gun explodes in the shape of bear heads. Nice personality touches seem littered all about, which I always love in my games.

The combo-wep bit is a bit closer to Dead Rising than I would have even anticipated. Pretty cool that they all seem well rendered and defined. Create-a-Character games are best when the element have such strong personality.

Would be even more old-school Dreamcast-y if it didn't have the sex jokes and crude language, but I guess people just can't avoid that now-a-days.

Box art really does look like... well, REAL Boxart. Not like something that's trying to be a live-action movie cover. Great thing to see in this day and age.

And the animations for traversal still don't bug me. He STICKS to stuff. I used to love the heavy confirm of hitting a grind in 2D games. Or even old Sonic games. It looks a bit janky given everything else, sure, but I still like how guaranteed it all looks. I love anticipation and fall off as much as the next animator, but in a game that has toon-shaded bubbles floating out of realistic-ish liquid, it seems to be reasonable.

My first thought was Jet Set Radio when I saw this and it looks ridiculously fun. Interest has gone up tenfold for this game. Any word how many players this game supports for coop?

Yeah the powerline traversal seems like a mix between Jet Set Radio and the powerline/elevated train rail grinding of inFamous 1 and 2. Then with ability skill-ups like inFamous, weapon handling like Crackdown/DR3, open world minion mow-down like Dead Rising 3/Crackdown, with cartoon graphics similar to Jet Set/Borderlands.

Seems like a good game to me.

Game reminds me a lot of Ratchet - in fact, it basically seems to me to be a new-gen multiplayer Ratchet with a fraction of the charisma of Ratchet. I must be getting cynical because I didn't really see anything here that would make me get hyped. I love the Ratchet series and old Insomniac had amazing ideas for weapons - but the company has been a pretty poor producer of late so I will temper my expectations. The enemies shown look like dull Resistance 2 co-op fodder reskinned and the moment to moment gameplay looks like just spamming shoot, jump and run - I need more details on actual game modes, enemy A.I. and objectives.

In the end, the colourful art style is a nice return for IG after Resistance and Fuse, but the gameplay presentation doesn't give me any indication that there is something new and exciting here.

I will temper my own opinion though by saying that I have not been impressed by the XB1, I have not felt that the Ratchet series has evolved sufficiently/significantly throughout the PS3 era, I feel that IG has consistently made poor compromises, and that this game would never have been the catalyst by which I picked up Microsoft's new system. For anyone who has never played a Ratchet game, or who is not burnt out on that brand of gameplay, I expect that this will be a fun game - and if IG can recapture the feel of R2 co-op then this could easily be a must have game for the system.

I too played Sunset Overdrive last week! Seems like my kinda game. Dead Rising + Tony Hawk is the first comparison that comes to mind.

@bradshoemaker 55s
Especially like how customizable the player char is--gender, clothes, even stuff like the color of the little whoosh-trail when you dash.

We can't run any video till next week, so, we'll run video next week.

To be honest, there's no point in getting one for future games right now with E3 coming soon. Wait to see if there will be a price drop announcement.

Maybe in your opinion.

Resistance 2 was awesome. Love the ending.
Resistance 3 criminally underrated. Game is a gem.
A4O was a great game that was infested with bugs. That's their fault. But the game was fun (I just platinum'ed it last week). Doesn't make the game "not" fun.
Fuse was an okay game, I'll give you that one. Probably the worst game I've played from them tho.
Into the Nexus is in my backlog.
FF is Full Frontal assault? This one I haven't played.

I would say that this game is a mix of Dead Rising (survivors, crazy weapons, zombies) + Crackdown (colorful palette and zombies) + Infamous (the rails thing).

But there have been plenty of significant deals where you came out cheaper than the PS4. Didn't Amazon have a deal where you essentially paid 350 bucks after a rebate and you got Titanfall on top it? Why didn't you get it then? If it's only about the price.

OT
Game looks fantastic...still can't wait to get muh X1. Love the color pallete.

I haven't got an Xbox One yet but this looks fantastic!

When it was revealed at E3 last year I thought it was going to be a co-op only thing but it seems like it has a regular single player setup like Insomniac's previous titles which I am really excited about.

Next-gen spawning FTW!
