Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Remakes Announced for 3DS

Ooh, starter rankings. These are always fun.

4>3>6>1>5>2

Johto and Unova's starters were so bad. I never liked Typhlosion, but it got even worse once the Phys/Spec split was implemented in HGSS and it couldn't use the elemental punches effectively. Unova's were disappointments across the board, especially Serperior. My goodness, I never thought we'd get another starter as poor as Meganium again but then the ole snake slithered in. Gen 3's starters are good (except for Sceptile) but they've got lots of designs bits that make them look weird.

And I have to agree with everyone else who disagreed with Infernape being called crap. Sinnoh's starters are excellent, but the Son Goku pokemon was fantastic.
 
For starters, it's 3=1>4=6>5>2.
Kanto and Hoenn starters are all well designed and all useful.
4 and 6 are all useful, but I don't care for Infernape or Chestnaught.
5's aren't very useful, and the only design I like that much is Serperior.
All of gen 2's starters are useless, and not really that well-designed.
 
My starter "favorite starters" would go 3>6>1>4>2>5 with all of them being relatively close except Gen 5's who are just terrible IMO

I honestly really like the starters from gens one, three, four and six. Only two and three disappoint me, they are boring and lack secondary types (Except Emboar, which is just wtf). They do really need to work on secondary typings for grass starters though, either they're bad or they don't even have one.

Yeah, lacking a secondary type is always a buzzkill. That said, Torterra has my favorite type combo out of all the starters. Sure it's weak as hell to Ice, but damn is Grass/Ground cool.

To be fair, I think it's hard to add a secondary type to grass without adding more weaknesses. Except like grass/electric I guess?

Not only that but having a STAB Earthquake is a godsend for any pokemon especially in-game
 
My starter ranking is 1>4>3>6>2>5

This is based on design, not usability by the way
I really like all three gen 1 starters. Torterra is my favorite starter though gen iv gets knocked down because I'm not a huge fan of Infernape. I like all three gen 3 designs, but not as much as the two above. I like Chesnaught and Greninja, but I think Chesnaught would've been greatly improved with a slightly better color scheme and Delphox is really boring. 2 has decent designs, but they're a bit too plain and they look kind of awkward (especially Feraligatr). Gen V just has designs I don't like that much. Serperior is decent enough though
 
Oh, well that's good news. I had wondered if they would ever remake these games.

I like Ruby and Sapphire, while there were a lot of things I didn't like about it. It was a fun game and I liked the locations. I like the new Pokemon games in general. As well as I just like Pokemon games.

I actually really like how much water and surfing there is in Hoenn. I've always been a really big fan of water and ice Pokemon since Red and Blue. When facing the elite four, I almost always had a Lapras and Dewgong and Articuno on my team. And I always felt like I wanted more of the ocean and beaches to explore, like the seafoam islands.

And having a surfing Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow was like a dream come true. Because it took two of my favourite things and put them together. In fact, one of the things I was most sad about with Ruby and Saffire was losing all of my Pokemon from Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal. I really missed my surfing Pikachu. So I'm really glad they brought surfing Pikachu back.

This sounds like a great way for many people to experience Ruby and Sapphire again. And a great way for many people to catch many Pokemon and put them in their Pokemon bank, without playing the original Game Boy Advance games and transferring their Pokemon to new generations.

I hope this isn't the last of the remakes. I would like to see newer Pokemon games remade in 3D as well. I would also really like to see Red and Green remade one more time. And someday, in HD graphics. And this time, without making it hard for Westerners to legitimately get Mew. I also, really really want them to remake Pokemon Yellow someday. It's my favourite Pokemon game. They remade Pokemon Red and Green, but I really would like to see a Pokemon Yellow remake someday.

A 3D Pokemon Yellow remake would be so much fun. I really hope they would consider it.

Yeah. I think part of why some people dislike it is that you can't use it like other starters in-game. Usually people use their starters as a quick sweeper, but Torterra's slow and you got to account for that. Makes him really hard to run the game solo with, too.

Yeah but Infernapes primary fire type doesn't have neary as much trouble hitting things as grass does. Not saying that makes Torterra better than nape or something dumb like that but having a good offense move on a grass type was amazing.

Did chesnaught get CC? I hated that one and never went chespin so I'm kinda curious

Water grass is probably the best existing one. Grass poison isn't awful either, but not great. That said, almost every grass type combo that exists right now has a double weakness to one type or another

It'll be Theta Emerald. But we didn't get a Yellow or Crystal remake, so in actuality it'll be nothing

You have to look through all the lowercase letters too. Groudon uses upper while Kyogre uses lower. Lowercase phi fits much better than theta. Lower delta as well. It could even just be plain Upsilon.

Grass/Electric, Grass/Rock and Grass/Ghost would all work out alright, I can't see them doing any of those except Grass/Rock on a starter though. But I guess Grass/Rock removes the fire weakness. Unless they did a gen where every starter's third evo removed their starter weakness.
 
I feel like Ludicolo gets mentioned primarily as a joke, but that dude fucking tore through those gen 3 games. Give him Shadow Ball, Surf, Ice Beam and Giga Drain and he + Blaziken could pretty much take care of the entire game from Winona on up (never played Emerald; I've heard Tate & Liza are way harder). I think he'll really benefit from the expanded movepool/Enargy Ball (plus a possible mega?).

Also Mega Camerupt and Walrein pls.
 
I don't think that generation one is the best generation.

But Pokemon Yellow is my favourite Pokemon game.

I love all Pokemon games so much, though.

They won't change up mechanics greatly until the next generation of Pokemon games.

They can improve it a lot more compared to its current state. They've only made it less annoying this gen, but it is still shit.

I really wish they'd just scrap the mechanic (make future things from now on have all 31s). Would be the biggest improvement they can make. Don't know how they'd fix up hidden power, but I'm sure they could figure out a way.

I think hidden power could easily be based off a different innate value assigned to a pokemon. IVs in general are useless in its current form. If you argue they're there to be unique, that's wrong, because clearly you can get perfect IVs if you spend a tedious amount of time doing it. If you argue they're there to just further empower a pokemon, it's the same thing as having no IVs at all. Fuck that shit.
