The plush party member had some of the worst voice acting I've ever heard. It was like some old man trying to mock both the voice of Spongebob and some eastern-european accent.
Xenoblade might be a prime example of why voice acting in Zelda could actually really be an awful idea.
Not necessarily. That was dubbed by NoE, so it doesn't really tell us what a game dubbed with the NoA Treehouse's oversight would be like. Kid Icarus, which they oversaw, had really good voice acting, but that game's tone is pretty lighthearted. Conversely, Other M, a more serious game, has bad voice acting, but that may be because of Sakamoto's bizarre direction.
This is all irrelevant, though, because the Zelda game is going to be in Hylian.
