What there are Yoshida gifs where he isnt the woman:P

Yeah, not surprised. He's high-up on the SCE food chain, but he's never been a front-and-center public figure much. And he's made zero public appearances as SCEA's new head, so no one knows what to make out of him.

Shawn Layden.
27 years at Sony.
15 years at SCE.
Some years as VP of SCE WWS.
8 years as head of Sony London.
3+ years as President of SCEJ. (currently Kawano)

Last role was COO of Sony Network Entertainment, so one of the guys in charge of PSN, Music/Video Unlimited.

Just looking at his resume, he's someone who's been very much in games development for much of his career.

I was going say, if anything, he's way more qualified than Jack Tretton. Jack was a suit through and through - he just became more throughout the years.

Time to disable gifs on mobile GAF for a while I think.

If Tim Cook really wants to show how good the next iPhone is, he should market it as 'capable of rendering a GAF E3 hype thread without crashing'

I'll have to catch this on Tuesday since we're going to Monday Night RAW for my daughter's b-day. Really excited to see what Sony brings to the table.

Guess I'm skipping my 8:45 class on the Tuesday afterwards. I have stayed up for the last two years and will definitely do so again.

it will be 4 a.m. over here baby!!

I will be there as usual, but you are right, it would be nice if sony went like noon time pt. wtf they were (not) thinking> :)

Possibly something to do with when Ubisoft and EA do their conferences? There seems to be a standard plan of the order of the conferences now, I remember when MS used to have theirs late at night in the UK (the one in the open air theatre?)

Ooh the hype. 9:30pm for me is great, I will be off of work and I can just relax. Hopefully I don't stay up too late reading articles.

All I can say is, I expect the unexpected.

If you think Beast Souls announcement and The Last Guardian would be too much, then you are wrong.

Microsoft if talking big, we know they will bring the games, Sony knows MS will bring the games. So far since before and after the launch of PS4 Sony have been on top with the hardcore gamers; losing E3 is not an option IMO, the hype and word of mouth has been good for them, so they will also show stuff they maybe planned on announcing at a later date.

I hope Sony's conference is not as disappointing as last years. Apart from the price and No DRM, nothing was really new. We had online play paywall and the only new exclusive that got announced was The Order, which didn't shiow any gameplay. Hopefully this year they have new game announcements.

That's because they announced games prior to E3 unlike Microsoft. They also announced games after E3 (Uncharted, Shadow of the Beast, Guilty Gear Xrd PS4, Lily Bergamo, Rime, etc).

Not having that announcement event they had in February last year should guarantee a solid showing this year, even if they only announce 1-2 games. We still have to see gameplay footage or details about the games they already announced.

Is there a list of all the announced conference times, MS, Soy, Nintendo Digital Conf, Ubisoft. EA

They're all roughly the same as last year (which is why them announcing these things is always so "well yeah, no shit" except for Nintendo)

Times are Pacific

Microsoft - Monday June 9, 9:30am
EA - Monday June 9, 12pm
Ubisoft - Monday June 9, 3pm
Sony - Monday June 9, 6pm
Nintendo - Tuesday June 10, 9am

Yeah Sony knows they have worldwide appeal so they cant blow their entire load at E3 like Microsoft can.

Quite honestly (outside of the pricing and policy announcements) the mere fact that FFXV and KH3 had trailers and were announced for PS4, alongside the push to support indie developers going forward was enough to make it a more than satisfying conference.

Game-wise MS had a better show though and may well again this year. Unless Sony pulls a lot of it's missing 1st party stuff out of the bag… which is entirely possible. Exciting times for everyone here.

Nice, I can catch literally everything live, I will be back from work just in time for MS conference, then I have Tuesday off work.

UK times for people who are interested
MS - 5.30PM
EA - 8PM
Ubisoft - 11PM
Sony - 2AM
Nintendo - 5PM
