Sony E3 Press Conference 6/9/14 @ 6PM PT

Whoa whoa whoa guys, you have the two hype trains and the hype sub, where is the hype bathtub?! If you add that one in then throw me in the hypetub, if not, add me to the hype sub

Edit: As far as speakers go, I'd expect Andrew House to get the largest share of the speaking I think

Does anyone know why Kaz stopped appearing in PlayStation conferences ever since his promotion to CEO? It is still a Sony business, and one of their most successful ATM.

In the same vein, why has Ballmer never appeared for any Xbox conferences?
 
I think you guys are setting yourself up for a disappointment. Sony won't reveal all their secret projects. They did the same thing last year, saved some stuff for gamescom and then TGS.

They will show The Order instead of Uncharted cause the two games belong in the same genre. They might save The Last Guardian for TGS etc. I think the main focus will be on games coming out in Fall/Winter and early 2015

I don't know if we saw the same videos, but the ones I saw-- formal presentations included (albeit, a older one from 2012)-- he sounded like a CEO of any old company and not the CEO shepherding the Playstation brand. I think E3 is a great venue for him to cut loose a bit a show a bit of swagger. The PS4 has done a hell of a job since launch and I expect the people presenting the case for PS' future at E3 to have a "Fuck yeah we did, but it's only getting better from here, baby!" type of attitude.

Also, I suppose it's an image thing. Tretton was a Boss but still gave a vibe that he sampled his own product heavily, if that makes sense? I can see Tretton lounging in his comfy chair with a glass of Macallan 25 on the table, scouring for that perfect shot in Second Son's photo mode. Whereas I can see Layden walking us through some sweeeeet bar graphs.

Either way, we'll know soon enough :)

Well obviously. It's still fun to think up all the possibilities.

Honestly, the hype train/thread is half the fun of E3 for me. Even if I don't get to see that game I wanted most.

It just doesn't make sense for them to show up anymore. Both PlayStation and Xbox have their own managing head.

I think last year as a whole was an aberration in terms of marketing and pacing of reveals due to the imminent launch of the PS4. I think we'll a lot more reveals at all of this year's events, E3 included; hell, E3 especially given how well the PS4 has done in NA.

That would be a bad move. It is expected by fans and supporters. Sony should just save some of thier unannounced and unknown titles for TGS. Avoid giving people blue balls.

TLG is such a Megaton, E3 is the only place for it to resurface and make its existence known anyway.

A lot of folks will be very upset and disappointed if its absent from E3.

I agree with you. The game won't sell in Japan anyway...they should show it at e3 :)

I actually am thinking the game I looking forward to the most is RIME followed by whatever MM is up to.

Ooo also Guerilla's new project and whatever SSM is doing.

Oh and a more hands on demo/live presentation of The Order..... goddamit

They will show both The Order and Uncharted, there's little doubt of that. However The Order will likely have a demo and Uncharted will have a trailer. There is no way they won't have something for Uncharted at E3.
 
I do not know why, but I would like some reassurance from somebody in the know, or at least somebody who hears things (Bruce, that is you) about the Sony E3 presentation. something like : I heard it would be packed with goodies...
I am weak! :(

No need to be. I think surprises are sorely needed and would hate for lots of sites to start putting up rumors and seeing if some of it sticks.
 
been burned too many e3's and i don't believe this one will be outstanding neither. hype levels staying at kiddie pool level. very shallow.
