EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

nice catch
What a hot couple.

As a Mizzou student and Rams season ticket holder... couldn't be happier that he ended up with St. Louis. My expectations are that he gets time with special teams as his niche. He definitely will not start with the D-line that the Rams have.

we all remember the controversy, disgust, and accusations of unprofessionalism when this guy kissed his girlfriend after getting drafted

what? there was no controversy? people were into it and wanted to know who his girlfriend was and called her hot and stuff? you were silent then? you and your kind are hypocrites, liars, and homophobes? nevermind then

all that controversy
remember all those tweets

to be fair I was pretty disgusted when Russell Wilson kissed his girlfriend.

I think it's great for Sam and the NFL.... But seriously?..
There really is no need to show a guy drafted after the first round on tv......overkill.

seeing people saying he's undersized and then seeing him next to his boyfriend

These kind of posts bother me... he's undersized compared to the MAMMOTH human beings in the position that he plays. That's not to say he couldn't potentially shock people, but players fall in drafts due to size issues at a particular position all the time. Hell look at the NBA, a 6'9" Center is undersized, but if you saw that same person they'd look enormous.

You seem pretty distressed at someone not having as high standards as you.
Distressed? Do I? I just find it amusing that abs equal ripped to most people. Guess my standards are high but we're dealing with vague terms so I get it.

'Sup fellow Rams fan?

He's going to almost have to work his way off the roster at this point. Fisher seems determined to have him on the team.

i feel like every gay guy i know or have ever known has been completely ripped (except one.... i know a butterball gay). but they all seem to be in great shape. why can't i get in great shape like that!

i'm also a pretty open dude when it comes to anything so i was pretty disappointed today at work at some of the comments. of course you're sitting around and having lunch with the boys and the topic comes up and you can guess where it goes. "gross! no one wants to see that!" no motherfucker you don't want to see it.... is what i said in so many words! it obviously makes them uncomfortable and sometimes its not entirely their fault (different upbringings) but it is unfortunate when you hear some of those things. sometimes people try too hard to be straight and masculine by doing things like objectifying women or talking shit on gay people. it's just disappointing

the honest truth is i'm not keenly interested in watching 2 gay guys kissing just like i'm not interested in watching most people kiss, gays or straights! but i thought that was a great moment. someone texted me the pic right after it happened and i was just really happy to see it (until i realized he was drafted by the rams)

really bums me out that he went to the rams because i wanted him to do well in his NFL career but as a division opponent i can't root for him too much :(

Well, do you think there might be something special or unusual about him, such that people would be interested to see what happened to him in the draft?

For one, more often than not the guys who have camera crews in their living rooms on draft day are guys that are drafted after the first round, otherwise they'd probably be at the event sitting in a green room. Second, plenty of guys are shown who are drafted late. Russell Wilson was a 3rd rounder and there were camera crews filming. Tebow could have dropped out of the first round if the Broncos weren't stupid enough to waste a first rounder on him and there were camera crews in his living room. Most recently Derek Carr was a second rounder and the cameras were watching him at his home. It's usually guys with good human interest stories or who are well known names (like Carr and Wilson). Sam fits both of those categories. There was really no special or out of the ordinary treatment from the NFL or ESPN in this case.

It a fan of the coverage from ESPN or the Jackie Robinson comparisons, but that is just the current nature of sports media.

Glad ESPN didn't cut away from the kiss, actually. And didn't point it out or anything. It was just his moment. There's nothing to explain to your kids.

He might not make the team, but maybe he'll make the practice squad.

They do it all the time, if the person is well known. For example, I wouldn't be surprised if they showed AJ McCarron getting drafted as well.

I love football, but I dont see why anybody would care to see somebody drafted in the third round or later. Its not a Sam issue... more of a who gives a damn issue. Hopefully it was shown on the NFL network and not regular tv.

Haha, oh man.

If people think that gamers are whinny and entitled when it comes to wanting to keep social activism out of video games, they should meet sports fans. SportsCenter reported on Marshall Henderson's dumb shit last night and everyone on their website is just all, "GOD WHY CAN'T I JUST WATCH SOME FUCKING FOOTBALL CHRIST WHY DO I HAVE TO CARE ABOUT PEOPLE BEING OPPRESSED! I JUST WANT SPORTS GOD DAMNIT!"

You never know how good you have it until you see what other people in longer standing institutions are "going through".

NFL has nothing of any worth or merit until pre-season. The most people who are jonesing for some football can hope for is another season of "Hard Knocks", which won't drop until the late summer/early fall.

They want to make the Draft a spectacle. Something people can watch with intention. If you think about it, there's no real reason to televise the combine either but...they do. Because people NEED some sort of football outside of the season and Friday Night Tykes is over.

The problem is it's happened dozens of times and nobody has vocally taken issue with it until it happened to the gay dude. Same thing with draftees kissing their significant others.

People who followed/rooted for the player in college would care.

Jay Mohr had a pretty good line on the guy who called and said, "what am I supposed to tell my kids about those two guys kissing?!"

"Because they love each other."

And then the dude was like, "Okay, what if my kid asks if he can kiss his friends on the playground that he loves."

"Yeah, sure, if you really want to."

The dude's jerseys are apparently selling like crazy too. People are interested in the guy. I mean, who knows why, right? But can't argue with the market.

Sam avoids the designation as the only SEC Defensive Player of the Year to go undrafted.

Smart PR move, smart team-skill move, StL. Guy was a steal.

Oh, and I think everyone in the Rams lockeroom can be grownups about this, ya know?

My facebook feed is plastered with mostly black guys Im friends with posting the "Tebow gets Mocked-Sam gets Glorified for Gay kiss" pic..

Cant wait to read the comments under the pic :/
