Call this a long shot but I think they stuck with Charizard X is because of its hands and feet. I dunno, maybe the feet aren't different but Y's claws are definitely stubbier. Switching to Charizard Y probably doesn't require changes to animations.

Nice to get confirmation of Charizard's full moveset, assuming Fly didn't get replaced. Also, this should bring an end to any speculation that said Mega Charizard X and Mega Lucario are activated in any other way

It would've been cool if the smash ball powered up characters so that you may want to keep it instead of automatically using the final smash but it would run the risk of getting smashed out of you. Would add some element of strategy but the Final Smashes were a mess in Brawl so maybe not.

I'm somewhat of a 'casual' of the pokemon games,but I like charizard y better,both design wise and in battle.yeah stealth rock destroys it,but it is a good opener,packing both boosted fire moves,a 1 turn solar beam and some other specials with good coverage

I pray, I hope, I wish that all transformation Final Smashes be like Giga Bowser. Damageable, but impervious to knockback. Or give them low knockback. There's something very wrong with final smashes that can be easily dodged (PK Starstorm) and ones that are absolute BS with no Drawback (Super Sonic, Landmaster, Wario Man, Octopus)

Final Smashes were unfair for some and useless for others. x_x

I vastly prefer Zard Y for the mega special attack boosts for fire attacks, where Blast Burn will likely do a lot of damage. Zard X is more a physical attacker and in Smash you focus on melee strikes a lot.

Recoil damage is lame It better do a lot of damage to make up for that, then. Sigh. For every 1% he loses, he better do +3% of damage, on top of whatever the base damage is.
