Man, can't wait. Never played Minecraft before although it has been released to pretty much every platform from rocket launcher to toaster.

Is it bad that I want to buy the DoA5 Complete Costume DLC since it's going to be only $10 starting tomorrow when I don't even own DoA5 yet?

Wait what? Complete Costume DLC? You mean, *all* costumes from the beginning up to end? For DOA5Ultimate as well...? >___>

I keep trying to make a post articulating my feelings on BL2 vita and it just isn't coming out right. I guess I am just confused about how anyone could give that game a ~5. And what is even crazier, taking a game that is a 9.0 and dropping it to a 5. I mean, drop to 2 player co-op, framerate drops and controls would have to be REALLY bad to drop a game that much, seeing as it is otherwise identical.

It makes me curious if they had just removed crouching and the weapon switch button (leaving weapon switching to only the d pad) and had nothing mapped to the rear pad if the game would have done better, which is a sad thought. It isn't a perfect game for sure, but either taking it completely on its own OR comparing it to console versions, it isn't a borderline bad game (which is what the IGN score is, since 4.9 is considered bad).

So the Vita tax has increased to more than 3 times? :O

PES14 sucks thank God this was a PS+ rental

lazy ass Konami can't even make a soccer game correctly anymore

Looking at Konami's latest financials it's clear they haven't been able to stem FIFA's dominance. Ironically, where I feel FIFA is weakest (handhelds), Konami has chosen to all but ignore. I think a strong Vita game linking up with the next PS4 PES iteration (would need a major Master League overhaul to make the integration engaging) would be their best shot at gaining any ground.

Seeing their EU community manager tweeting a selfie with Seabass gave me the warm and fuzzies. Miss the PS2 Winning Eleven days ;_;

Today's the day (or night in my case), the day we find out Soul Sacrifice Deltas price because SCEA wouldn't tell us beforehand!
Then I can work out how much more that'll end up working out to in AUD and get sad.
But still buy it anyway
whats new gals? porterlands 2 comes out tomorrow
Not until next week here :(
I'm itching to play it which makes the wait all the more harder.

Should I get the new model of Vita even though I have 3 different OLED versions? What are some of the improvements to the new model?

Fuck IGN and those other so called games journalists. It's not like I can't accept different opinions but the bias against the Vita is obviously there.

Strange, that bad performance never gets such a big hit on the score on the home consoles but if a Vita port of such an underperforming game has problems it's all over the review. It's not like BL2 runs great on the PS3. Skyrim runs like shit and wasn't panned like this if I remember correctly.
Even Killzone: Mercenary got so much shit for its length when 80% of the reviewers were too dumb to use a clock and instead relied on the ingame timer. It was short but not that short and it's not like it is something unique that a game only times actual gameplay.
Seldom see big franchises getting criticized for it like CoD with all its marketing money.

And to reurgitate what others already said, what do they expect of a fucking handheld? The 3DS console like games seemingly always get a pass but being on Vita results in a big tax on the score, ridiculous.

I remember some Platinum game suffered from the same (Vanquish?). That game clock only counts your succesful trails. When you die and return to the last checkpoint, the clock returns to the point it was when you reached the checkpoint.

The game still got decent reviews.

I agree with you. Borderlands 2 is a port on a weaker system. They need to adjust their expectations to what could be done on the system. Pawning the game because it has some cuts here and there (lower enemy on screen at the same time) and some performance problems (when the game didn't get a low rating on other versions for the same reason) isn't fair.

I suppose it's easy to bully the Vita, for better or worse. What can Sony do? Not send review copies? They won't lose so many clicks if they stop reviewing Sony published Vita games.

Sony can't do shit at this time. The Vita has been the punching bag since its second week sales in Japan were bad. I remember reading everywhere that it already failed and the bad word of mouth just went on to be a selffulfilling prophecy.
Not saying it would have been successful otherwise as the market shrunk but the anti-hype doesn't help.

Games will get reviewed anyway and trying to hide something will seem worse.

Oh come on you guys. No need to consider that the entire gaming world is out to bully Vita or make it a punching bag just because a game in it gets a bad review score.

IGN's writers in general write pretty poor reviews so it shouldn't suprise people when...they have another poor review. I mean, Jesus H. Christ, they published this Akai Katana review which is a heap of steaming trash.

While others are being negative as well, let's be real here, the IGN review is receiving the most complaints. The only other ones we have are Kotaku's and Jim Sterling's. The Kotaku one isn't very good - he doesn't even seem to know you can remap the controls -, but while I disagree with Jim Sterling overall I think his review is backed up pretty well, and pretty fair.

Long story short, IGN is known for publishing poor reviews (under many different authors) so don't worry too much about them writing yet another poor review. If you enjoy the Borderlands 2 port that's all that really matters, right? I know I'm having fun with it.

People say the same thing anytime a game (they may not have even played) scores below expectation. Publication X is "biased" or "has an agenda" or "doesn't know what it's talking about". It's old and tired. If reviews are that upsetting just ignore them. What on earth does IGN stand to gain? Tearaway gets damn near perfect scores and no one bought it. The press only has so much power.

Also...anyone having issues with uploaded PS+ saves and game downloads on PS4 may want to see if changing connections helps. I switched from wired to wireless and it seems to have corrected the issue...for now.

I think it's kind of funny that Borderlands 2 is getting panned like it is when it's a much better port than NFS: MW, which was well received. NFS wasn't a bad port at all, but Borderlands 2 is certainly better and more comparable to the other versions.

About to finish P4G for the first time and I feel sad it has to end. Terrific game.

I'd say it's one of the best JRPGs of all time. And my favorite. I never felt so attached to a fictional world before. I'm really hyped to see what they do with Persona 5.

Persona 3 has a whole lot more problems than a simple handheld port could cause.

Persona 3 FES hasn't aged that well. I played it last year and I'd say I prefer P3P overall. You could play the Answer instead of the whole game though.

That's the reason why people ask for a definitive version.

Despite its flaws Persona 3 still is a great JRPG I'd recommend to everybody that liked Persona 4.

I could never play FES. I need to be able to control my party members.

Was going to get BL2 but I think I'm just going to buy a PS3 soon and play my PS+ version instead. I can always buy the GotY version and transfer my save right?

Since apparently no one else tried it, I bought Titan Attacks! and I am happy to report it isn't awful. It's no reinvention like my beloved Pac-man CE DX, but it is a nice diversion. Will probably try to finish it, as it has a campaign/story mode. Probably not worth the price for most people though.

People in here doubting the Vita tax? This thread sure got uncozy.

So... this PS Digital Upgrade Program wasn't too much to write home about, was it?

It was like four games that happened to come out on PS3 right before PS4 launched, and PS4 shortly after right? I think it was just a quick thing to avoid having people not buy PS3 games cause they were waiting for PS4 versions. I thought they were doing it for some sports games and FFXIV also but I don't see it on the list anywhere.

It looks like it was mostly for launch titles.

A shame. I won't buy Destiny for the PS3 if they don't include the 10€ upgrade program. I'd rather wait and get the real experience instead of the PS3 game.

I need to get back to P4G at some point. I got to "let's save Rise" and just kinda lost interest. I miss the combat, but I just didn't like it as much as SMTIV, despite liking the presentation a lot more. Apples and oranges, I know. I liked how having to juggle so much irritating shit really feels a bit like high school, though.

I bought it and wrote my first impressions here on the EU release day. Short: didn't like it, Space Invaders Extreme for the PSP is much better.

Sterling at least consistently shits on games. While I don't agree with him often, I can respect that.
Many other publications on the other hand hype big console games through the roof just to bash easy targets more.

Is there something up with DoA5 on the US Psn Webstore?

I went and had a look at the f2p core game and all of the character add-ons are listed as unavailable.
I looked in the OT here on Gaf and nothing has been posted in there for awhile.

Any ideas? or am I missing something obvious?
