New DriveClub gameplay videos (IGN)

there's lots of great things in the source :)

all you need to do is find the source .mp4
then search for 1920, replace the data-width
then change the data-id

here, just take them. It's not like they're hiding them. They're terrible quality anyways.

These companies really need to create they own portal for new game footage, as youtube and the like do nothing but harm their game's visuals.

Thanks for the links, but as you said they are not exactly stellar quality bitrate.

Is today the day we get the quality videos? lol...

Comparison between youtube and ign version.

I noticed some aliasing in the Gamersyde vids as well. Does the game just have really bad IQ or something? :/

I don't give a damn about a bit of aliasing here and there. When I play a game I don't obsess over small details, I take in the whole experience and absorb subliminally how those small details make me feel ...

So post the frigin' video up already! Forget the guys with magnifying glasses and cater to the gamers.

It's not nearly as hard as you're making it sound. Assuming they do things properly, the initial capture is done to a lossless format, whether that's DPX, HuffYUV, lossless x264, whatever. This is your master or archive copy.

Then, all they need to do is encode a compressed version at the desired quality setting. I'll even write the commands for them to feed into the free and open source x264 utility:

Retail Blu-ray disc quality and compatibility:
Code:
x264 --bluray-compat --bitrate X --preset veryslow --weightp 0 --bframes 3 --nal-hrd vbr --vbv-maxrate 40000 \
    --vbv-bufsize 30000 --level 4.1 --keyint X --b-pyramid strict --slices 4 --fake-interlaced \
    --aud --colorprim "bt709" --transfer "bt709" --colormatrix "bt709" --sar 1:1 \
    --pass 1 -o output.file input.file

Smaller but still high quality and better for web distribution:
Code:
x264.exe --level 4.1 --crf 18 --ref 4 --me umh

See? Pretty damn easy.
uwotm8? Never said it was hard or challenging did I...

Just gave a potential reason and thinking behind the tweet that they're tweaking the video. It is of course easy, and they've done it before.

Guys, relax. I've been assured these videos are definitely coming, and not only that - they are coming soon.

Already said it once, but we need to quantify "soon". How do we convert soon in days? How many soon units add up to a month? It would be easier for Sony PR to communicate with us, they could just say: "The uncompressed HD video will be cleared for take off in 2.5 soons!"
