I think pokeballs aren't lost when thrown against trainers from gen 4 onward.

We have a bajillion pokeballs anyway. We still have lots of chances to catch giratina if we want to. This ledge is going to be killer with trolls, though. It's a shame we never could evolve Shinx because she's by far the worst member of the team (other than bibarel, who will likely be better once it reaches Shinx's level).

Pretty sad but I think this week be what ends up leading to democracy. The trolls are relentless and we have a long time without healing after we finally do it. We're probably going to have to complete this ledge multiple times.

So I think Shinx has to be one of the first to go once we've made it to the E4. She's just terrible.
That can be fixed by evolving her fully.

I am serious. Since we got Bronzor to evolve, we can also get Shinx to evolve. I still think that its a matter of time until it happens.

This is basically like fighting Red, but before we even get to enter Mt Silver we're forced to deal with ledge hell and and once we get to the top of mt silver we're teleported back to the entrance with wild encounters removed. The only thing we dont have to worry about are trainer battles and the boulder puzzle with the pixie trio, EVERYTHING else must be redone every time.
Our only chance we have of healing is if we buy a ton of hyper potions and try to heal in a wild battle in the final cavern before Spear Pillar.
On the "bright" side, our team should be E4 ready by the time we beat Cyrus.

We'll be in demo long before then.
Streamer has never given demo to help with beating a trainer. What makes you think he'd do it now? It's about 90 minutes for the ledge, 30-40 minutes for Mt Coronet, and an hour for the Distortion world, which adds up to around 3 hours per attempt--roughly equal to the time it took for each Maylene attempt and even shorter than each Red attempt.
Edit: These times are shorter than what they took last time because we dont have to redo the boulder puzzle in the distortion world and we dont have to refight any trainers on Mt Coronet or watch the story cutscenes.
Edit 2: Now that I think about it, I'm probably underestimating how long it takes to go through Mt Coronet, so let's say 60-90 minutes for that too, or upwards of 4 hours total per attempt.
This is going to be very difficult for us yes, but it's definitely not impossible. A lot of the reason that the first attempt went so poorly is because of bad switches and bad move uses.
