Anyway what you're saying is essentially skinning a character and turning it into a costume. That's a bad concept and a lazy, shoddy way people do (even SF4 doesn't do it, and that's why MvC3 is loathed in that regard).

Meta Knight is his baby. He's not going anywhere. The solution to Meta Knight has been shown. Buff everyone else.

Plus changing the baseline physics and pace of the game already addresses most of Meta Knight's imbalance.

He'll probably need some other nerfs beyond that, but he's hardly impossible to balance.

I just realized I never posted my updated roster after the disconfirmation of The Wonderful 100/Wonder-Red, so here it is:

I did away with the either/or character slots. Also, I expect between 50-55 of these characters, not necessarily all 55 shown here.

That roster would pleased me for very long long long time. It's too good to be true so unfortunately it wouldn't happens.

Here's to hoping for King K. Rool or Mewtwo.

I'm only expecting "alts" (a full set of alternate costumes with their own portraits) for Wario, Wii Fit Trainer, and Villager, and I honestly don't want any more than that.

I'd like to see Mario get a Dr. Mario costume, though that probably won't happen. If King K. Rool gets in, it'd be nice if he would at least get his Kaptain K. Rool outfit.

What do you all expect for E3 character wise?
How many newcomers, returners etc;

I'm expecting to see Palutena, Mii, and Pac-Man for newcomers as well as Ridley being shown as a boss of sort.

I'm expecting to see Meta-Knight, Wario, and Ice Climbers to be there as well.

Not that high, since the pattern seems to be Marth+Lord of the most recent game, so he could easily be replaced with Chrom. Ike might be featured is Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, so that might be enough to keep him.

I don't think you can call it a pattern when there have only been 2 games with FE reps in them. Especially since Roy was pretty much only put into Melee to advertise his upcoming game in Japan (Seriously, Roy's game was released after Melee)

I think Ike's pretty safe. Unless I'm mistaken, Roy was slated to be in Brawl alongside Ike, but was cut due to time constraints, so there's no real precedent for removing the previous lord. They'll leave Ike and add Chrom because the more the merrier with blue-haired lords.

Sadly, we had to trim out many great concepts just to keep within the time contraints. I had a lot more characters, for example.. but sadly I can't discuss which ones didn't make it.

I could be wrong on this, but I think data for Roy and Mewtwo has been found on the Brawl disc. If they were partially programmed, then it stands to reason they were intended for the roster but cut sometime in development - and time constraints is a likely reason.
