Hello VitaGAF.
Been a long time lurker here, but just wanted to pop in to say hi since my account was just activated and everyone seems so friendly here.
I'm sporting both an OLED Vita as well as a Light Blue 2000.
I keep the 2000 inside one of those Nintendo Animal Crossing Pouches just because the pouch looks so soft. Blasphemous huh?
Haha I keep my charger in a club nintendo pouch. Nothing's exploded yet.

To keep my post relevant to the thread, whats the consensus of the vita port of Phantasy Star Online 2? I played the PC version quite heavily and am wondering if it's worth the import and the gargantuan memory card required.
The vita version is pretty nice and there was a lot of people the last time that I played. Most of the PC features are on the Vita version as well, but they don't share servers.

Nintendo seemed to have increased the price of the pouches since I got mine. The red Mario pouch cost me 250 coins, but the new Animal Crossing pouches cost 500 each.I just learned today that I need a club Nintendo case.

around 120 hrs in to FFX-2..have yet to complete half of chapter 5. damn creature creator taking so much of my time..i need to finish this before mon mon comes.. XD

Mine is naked when it's at home, but I use a sleeve when I take it out to work with me, just for a little protection.
Someday, I'll get you something even more grand. Assuming an ambition of mine turns out successful.

Minimum jaggies while playing.
I compare some stuff like Toukiden since that one's native res. You have to intentionally look for jaggies to find them.
Minimal jaggies and it doesn't have a "soft" (blurry) look is how I normally tell if a game is sub native or not. It really stands out when they're subnative. I don't know how you people don't notice this stuff.

It's quite alright as some of us here owns a lot of Nintendo devices as well. Better than being naked if you ask me.

Dynamic res games are usually okay for me too. I noticed a drop in resolution occasionally in Wipeout 2048, but I had no idea that KZM did the same thing until I read the Digital Foundry article.

So it just got announced that Disgaea 4 for the Vita will be released in 8/12 for NA and 8/29 for EU.
Anybody here interested in buying it? I'll probably buy it day one if there are no other interesting games or sales that pop up in between.

Stole some screenshots from the portable screenshot thread to show difference between Native and Sub.
I scaled the images from native res (960x544) to 720x408 (what the original Soul Sacrifice ran at) and then scaled them back up to 960x544 to show what it would look like.

Those new sprites will look amazing on dat OLED screen (sorry Vita 2000 owners). I probably won't buy any more games from now until D4.
And this also gives a good example why there is such a fuss when Xbox One games don't hit 1080p and run as some arbitrary sub-HD resolution. Rendering at the native res of your display is key for getting clean IQ.
At least for consoles there's the luxury of sitting a few feet away from the screen. It's a lot easier to tell on Vita since you're only ever like a foot away from your screen. It wouldn't even be that if Toukiden ran at 720x408 but only if the Vita also had a 720x408. It's the scaling of the image up to 960x544 that fucks up the image quality

That's a pretty good comparison, but I'd say it's not quite fair for most sub-native games. They don't usually have that distortion you get when you upscale an image like that. The only game on Vita I've seen look that bad is the awful port of Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault:
Most sub-native games I've seen have a native resolution interface - which usually looks pretty good IMO (still noticeable, but not too bad, especially on the Vita's screen):
There are some games that don't have a native res UI, unfortunately. For example, Hot Shots Golf (though overall, the game still looks decent since it has some anti-aliasing):

It was free a year ago but not anymore.
Basically it's free only if you already bought it when it was part of the IGC. If this is your first time subscribing to PS+ then you have to start from this month's IGC.

Just pointing out some options. I bought ridge racer vita at launch
it's ok but for me it has lost a little something, feels a bit soulless. And the drifting is OTT (prefer the older handling). Still fun thoughAgree with you on sonic racing.
Did you ever play split/second on PSP? Wondering whether to buy it.
Ridge Racer Vita is a great game, haters gonna hate.

I got the Sly collection for vita and just to let you all know, the game is cross buy. The code that came with mine is apparently both for Sly3 vita and the PS3 version of the Sly collection. I think this is the first vita retail game where getting a vita copy nets you a digital PS3 version. Neat.

Just bought all the Muramasa DLCs.
Haven't tried the farmer DLC but so far I'm having fun with the cat DLC. So much combinations could be had with her.
Too bad I can't play it because suddenly my sister likes the game. I'll play it when she finishes Kisuke's story.
Maybe I should buy another Vita? 1000 or 2000?

I've been playing some Guacamelee on Vita, and I just beat the Tree Tops section. That's definitely one of the hardest things I've ever done in a game.

Yeah, but they actually said in the PSBlog they'll try to use that game to push some artists. In the moment I read this it was evident that the game would release on more platforms.
I think the problem was the the game was quite barebones at first. Full price game with little content and a lots of DLCs.
There is a version with all the digital content added iirc. Or most of it.
i dont think so, which sucks. But on the ps3, its pretty good.
