As other people has already said, it seems the Vita was really hard to find in the last few weeks. I've been reading it on GAF since March iirc.

It's incredible how poorly has been managed the transition for the 1000 to the 2000 model XD
 
Gurumi really is still playable on Vita. According to Totobeni (I need to get him to come back here), when the price dropped, during the update there was a mistake that removed it from the Vita store. It just hasn't been fixed yet. I just bought it and he's completely right, I can download it to the Vita.

Also, this means I can once again purchase things from the store. I guess the "lockout" is real, because I had to wait 72 hours without touching the store or my account settings.

MH3U address nearly all of the issues in MHFU. I tried to play MHFU with the PS+ copy last month, ended up deleting it not only because of the dem graphics, but also it feel pointless after playing with all of the improvement in MH3U. Well, if you want to give the series another shot, just play your friend's copy if there is any, and just imagined it to be (much) slower paced Toukiden, in term of combat at least.

D2 is really solid.

If you have a Vita, you should check out Disgaea 4 APR which comes out later this year. It includes several gameplay systems from D2 and in general just has tons of content. The portable versions of Disgaea are always great
 
Class of Heroes 1 is kind of obtuse. My first impressions after an hour or so of playing.

Kind of surprising to me as I've played Elminage Original, which is supposed to be more confusing.

I'll figure it all out, but it's surprising is all.

I don't have a PSP right now :l Mine was about to break so I traded it to GameStop before it was too late lol.

I have intention of getting a 3DS sometimes this / next year and I'd like to give a chance to MH4U when it hits the system.

I think coming to the game after trying other more straightforward games in the genre could help me a little.
 
Question for those who have beaten the sea monster in Muramasa.

How?

I've maxed my level, gotten the final sword and everything but that kraken's a tank.

I just jumped at the tentacles and kept slashing it. The tentacles would die, and I'd fall in the water which was easy to get out of since you just keep tapping square I think. I don't think I used secret arts, just regular slashing.

Jesus everloving christ, I just got 100% of the trophies in Spelunky (man, if any game should reward you with a Platinum trophy, it's this one). Now if we want to talk about hard games, this is it. Seeing as my last trophy was just to beat the game on the hardest setting and it took me close to 1500 runs through the game, the difficulty isn't even artificially increased through stupid trophies. But man, was that satisfying to finally beat. That said, saying that Guacamelee is one of the easiest games on Vita is crazy. The orbs were all quite challenging to get without being too frustrating, and were very satisfying to finally get. But calling it one of the easiest games on vita sounds like confusing tedium with difficulty.

almost as bad as sony's transition from psp to vita
 
Just checked the SG PSN blog. The top games there are different to the HK one. Games are usually in English for the new SG store since SEA region has a number of countries who are not fluent in Chinese / Japanese.

Vita version is on par with the console version, the only downside being no multiplayer. There's the occasional frame drop, but it hardly hampers the experience. Very fun game.

It's fun as a time killer. The game is definitely better in multiplayer. Like someone else said, if you like Cel Damage or the genre then it's probably worth getting. Otherwise, I wouldn't really say there's enough content to satisfy those playing singleplayer.

There's no real singleplayer campaign in the Vita or PS4/3 versions of the game. It's really just the multiplayer maps and you play through them solo, aiming to complete each game mode on all maps. You'll get a cutscene here and there, but it's not comparable to say, Twisted Metal. Like I said, fine to kill a bit of time, but not enough to satiate those looking for a deep singleplayer experience.

Yeah I had to buy mine second hand in March. Gently used, near mint condition.

Glad I didn't wait until the 2k came out, it's my favorite system since the DS. (3DS didn't do it for me, sadly. We had a good run though)

Yeah, the Vita really is a really good system... it's sad how much people is out there criticizing it without giving it a chance first (not talking about GAF especifically, things are much worse in other places).

Once you go through memory card prices it really offers a lot for little money. PS+, sales, PSP + PS1 compatibility...
 
I couldn't find a specific thread or place to answer all of my questions and I am a Junior Member so I can't make a thread of my own yet.

Basically I skipped the PS3/360 generation for a bunch of reasons and only owned a Wii. Now I find myself living in Japan with a Japanese PS4 and enjoying it greatly so far!

I have access to PS Plus for 3 months on the JPN Store and I got Resogun and Don't Starve for free already. However, Don't Starve is fully Japanese, with the English completely stripped out.

It got me thinking about the future and how I would love to play Western games in their original language. For example, WiiU versions of NFS: Most Wanted, ZombiU and Injustice all have their English menus and voices stripped out in favour of just Japanese. This whilst not awful, hinders the game experience.

So TL;DR, I am wondering about how do I set-up a US PSN account on my PS4. What problems will I encounter (with DLC etc.) and is there anything else I should be looking out for?

dunno about conspiracy but I'll never understand why Persona 2 has been treated so poorly but Atlus USA, first we don't get Innocent Sin on PS1 and then we don't get Eternal Punishment for PSP

Wait really? Not old news, as I played it this morning and had no patch. God please tell me they didn't add any extra trophies, I just 100% the game today! But new HUD is a godsend, the old one really blocks a lot of useful view.

First welcome aboard.

I believe the Ps4 handles user accounts like the Ps3 does, as in any account on the Ps4 can play any game no matter which account actually bought it. Any dlc for a game must be from the same region i.e. US dlc for US game, Euro dlc for Euro game etc.

The easiest way to handle region free gaming from the PSN stores is to set up an account on your Ps4 with a fake address from the region you want buy from with a different e-mail address from your JP account. That e-mail address will now be your log-in into the store.

So now you come to the thorny question of how to add funds to your new account to actually buy anything, because the Psn stores do not accept foreign credit cards. By far the simplest way to add funds to an US account is through Amazon.com and the US Psn webstore. If you haven't got an Amazon.com account, set one up with a US address and you can then buy an on-line code for Psn funds that you can add to your wallet through the Psn webstore (i.e.Use the e-mail address that your US account is linked to).

If everything goes according to plan you should be able to log-on with your US Psn account on your Ps4 and you'll be directed to the US store where you can shop to your hearts content. You can then log out of your US account if you want and go back to your main account and your US games should still be there for you.

Just got Persona 3 Portable and Oden Sphere (along with Skull Girls Encore via PS+) :D; can't wait to play them.

Nobility Oden Sphere, as I remember seeing this game growing up; always saw it as a beautiful looking game but for some reason never got it...maybe it was all the talk of the games slowdown issues? Either way it is a steal for five bucks (especially considering how Maramusa looks alot like this and this have FIVE campaigns to play through!).

Persona 3 Portable looks great too; more of the fun gameplay that I've been enjoying from Persona 4 Golden :). The thing with this is that...it just looks so dark in comparison to P4; teenagers literally SHOOTING themselves to summon the Persona's (no wonder the gang from P4 doesn't mind going into the "TV World"...they don't have to shoot themselves to summon their partners :l). Outside of that shock factor, the gameplay I saw online of it looks great (as its more or less a lesser-refined version of P4) and the adventure game-esc interactions instead of actually walking around seems to be a smart one it seems :). Can't wait to give this a go when it fully downloads to my Vita :D.
 
I just finished Muramasa Rebirth on the Vita and my first thought was: Why did it took me so much to play this game? I absolutely loved it my good fellow GAFfers!

Visuals are really nice, varied and relaxing. Took me about 7-ish hours to finish it once because I found myself staring at wind dancing with the leafs or watching those vibrant colours when the sun was going away. The music was also good, specially the one from the "Start Menu" screen. I finished the game on Normal difficulty, without looking to get trophies, just plain fun and I'm very happy for having the chance to play this game. Highly recommend it and, again, I feel ashamed it took me so long to play this. I bow in shame to my VITA-BROS.

I plan on replaying the game at a later date with the other character but right now it's time to move to another Vita game and that will be God of War 1. :)
 
No idea about PS3, too lazy to get up and check. But I assume so if they have done Vita.

No sloth damsel, no new trophies.

I wonder if they fixed any of the chop in the rushing water/yeti levels.

I'm the only one that got hungry while eating the awesome looking stuff in Muramasa? My god, the sure looked tasty XD
 
Just bought Kenka Bancho as it was on sale for $5... I don't really know what to expect. Did I waste 5 bucks? I bought it almost only because I saw a screenshot of an enemy in a banana suit...
