P3P Party Question:
Aigis just joined my party. My current setup is Akihiko, Mitsuru, and Yukari. Should I dump one of them in favor of Aigis?

As for why they should be - it's chicken and the egg syndrome. No one's buying the system because they're no games that they want to play on it (relative quality vs. quantity). And unless Sony ponies up and starts spending money on producing well made games with a broad appeal, that won't change. The vast majority of people aren't going to buy a system with the hope that 'AAA' titles might eventually be released for it; they'll buy once those titles are already there.

I dont believe this to be the case (or ever was?) anymore. The wii u gets plenty AAA games that review incredibly well might i add, and people arent rushing out to pick that up either.

Sony has the games now... What it lacks is any sort of presence. Zero moneey has gone into advertising and maybe 10$. Went into marketing.

Curiosity - did anyone ever pick up Starlight Inception for Vita? I'm hankering after some old fashioned TIE Fighter style dogfighting on the go, but I haven't seen much talk about it so I'm not sure whether it's worth the £12.99 (especially when my backlog is currently around 4000 miles long).

There's a big patch in the works, I'd wait until it's issued to figure out whether it's worth jumping in.

Ok.

I. Didn't. Like it.

I could tell that it was a very polished game and that if I was into the genre, I probably would have loved it but it just wasn't for me.

I bought it because of all the glowing reports and I felt like I was missing out on something (I still feel like in missing out on something) but the gameplay just didn't click with me.

For the record: I put about 8-10 hours into the game.

Those all look like solid reasons. Look at the bright side, the game is still at full price on stores so you'll probably get most of your money back if you sell it :)

get another :P hahaha! my bad, fellow VitaMuffin! :D

now guys, tell the KH team to bring the KH HD games to Vita
#KHVita #BestOnVita

Done!

Same here.

Yeah, I'll gladly buy it again. P3 screams for a definitive version.

Edit: FeMC battle theme is GOAT :O

Can you buy a game (with money) that is part of the free games with PS+?. Let me explain, Muramasa is free for PS+ members but at the same time the game got a heavy discount that ends in the first week of June. My PS+ subscription ends in july, obviously when I buy the game I got it for free but I want to pay for it now because I'm not always a PS+ member, I want to take advantage of the discount now, can I do something or I'm screwed?.

No, you cannot buy a game that has already been redeemed through Playstation Plus unless you let your subscription lapse.

There hasn't been update this week on the official U.S. PS blog detailing this week's Playstation Store update. Did the store update this week?

Far as I know any game that's free for Plus members cannot be purchased by Plus members.

Its kind of amazing how many people have played persona 4 and not 3.

Not that much, really. Keep in mind you're in a Vita centric thread. VitaGAF praises and recommends this game to almost every single new owner.

So it's not that weird that people buy the game after hearing all that praise, love it and then want to give a try to older games.

A little off-topic, but it seems the first Persona 3 movie released on DVD/BD a few days ago. A subbed version should appear in the next few days on the Internet.

Are they going to release a English Dubbed version as well?

Makes perfect sense to me. P4 is the better game after all

Personally i enjoyed P3's characters and overall tone & atmosphere more...but i said that because P3 is generally the game that got most people interested in the series and SMT in general. Well at least thats how it was back around the time FES released. But it seems like P4 got even more people interested which is good for the franchise. Megaten always deserved more recognition in the west.

Don't get me wrong I love the characters in P3 as well. Don't know which cast I like more since I haven't beat P3P yet though. The reason I believe P3 is worse is because fuck Tartarus

Ok... I have to get this off my chest. I bought assassin's creed liberation because it was cheap as shit on the psn and...

So far... I'm...

...

Enjoying it...

What's wrong with me?

Well, I'm kind of enjoying Resistance (aside from the boring campaign and the ridiculous glitches) so I know how do you feel lol

I think that a good chunk of first year releases would've been liked more if they were releasing now.

Are they going to release a English Dubbed version as well?

I think some US company teased they were going to bring it overseas. I don't remember which one it was.

I'm totally seeing the film as soon as a fandub releases it with subs though. Sadly, I'm sure the english version won't arrive to Spain :(

they should just do a quickport with Japanese voices and English subs... this will do for me... this combination makes the game more immersive for me for some strange reason haha

Nothing, I bought it, finished it, enjoyed it.

Slight issues with the unpatched version when it first came out but nothing completely game breaking. Another unfairly reviewed Vita game.

Aniplex USA is bringing it over but its expensive as hell in typical aniplex fashion

And yeah its jp audio with english sub.

Got it for free through a store glitch and it is so bad, I don't think even a big patch could help any more.
Actually, right now it has some kind of trash factor because it is so bad which makes it somewhat fun. Making it a little bit better objectively will even take that away.
The second campaign mission felt like a PS1 era game with its super short draw distance, pop up everywhere and ultra foggy look. I expected to hear a voice saying "where did you learn to fly?" the whole time.

It feels like I'm playing through every available vita game at once...

Just played some Steamworld Dig.

It's got it's hooks in me.

Urgh, that's a shame. Never mind. I'll maybe wait for it to be discounted before risking it. Thanks.

it's a great game! can't wait for the sequel or the next game by ImageForm!

hmm do you guys think we'll ever get a patch for GoW HD Vita and Dustforce Vita? it's sad these great games are in the state they are in... sigh.

The longer I play SSD, the more I know SS similarity with Monster Hunter and big difference with Toukiden. It's about how the monsters designed. Any hunting action game have template for bosses where they share basic model and animation between them and this mostly how hunting action game fill up their roster of bosses without spending many resources by creating new animations and models. This not particuarly a problem, when each bosses have their own unique attack(s) and different behavior during battle. Both MH and SSD have most of their bosses ( fodder boss is the exception usually) within the same template have different behavior and movesets, which in the end makes the battle between them feels completely different. And this is where Toukiden fall shorts. Despite having excellent gameplay, the bosses template are badly designed that you could actually just called them as recolor. There is no difference between Edax and Jollux, or Nightblade and Sableblade. They feel same, only with their elements swapped which frankly, a very negligible changed. The only one that fight differently is Abyssal Fiend, and that's only in its rage mode.

Now I'm worried with Toukiden Kyoku only delivering more bosses but follow the same design in regard of template for bosses, and not addressing the similarness between bosses of the same template in the previous game. I can only hope Toukiden designer could see where the game fall shorts and address with excellent improvement like SSD did.

I personally asked them to revisit the recolored bosses in their survey as one of the biggest negative. Dunno if it could have any impact but yeah, i agree those recolor are just lazy as can be.

Played some more and I really can't recommend it. I am halfway through the campaign and the ony difficulty was finding the way where to fly to because everything looks so samey, the 3rd person camera is too close and the waypoints are either buggy or bad. The enemy AI is so dumb the battles are pretty boring. The actual flying is ok but without a real threat there isn't any thrill in the dogfights.

And the story has to be one of the most generic and worst presented things I have ever seen. I can't think of any worse example right now.

They also tried to shoehorn so much useless stuff into the game like walking around in the mothership, which is just 1 corridor and an elevator to tell the truth and controls horrible.

Gah. Such a shame, I felt it had real potential. My wait for a decent portable space shooter goes on.

Thanks for the feedback. That's £12.99 I'll save towards my 64Gb memory card instead.

YS: Memories of Celceta.

How much further do I have I just
wrapped up the snowy peak of Vesuvius.. (yes they call it something different but you get the picture) I am at the lake now.

Really have been enjoying it while on my business trip.

I've address the lack of missions variety, but at that time I'm still have no clue on boss design, so I forgot to mention the recolored bosses specifically in detail D:

Got the Hotline Miami platinum on Vita yesterday, fun little game.

Now I'm playing through Killzone Mercenary and I don't remember reading about how bad the frame rate is. As soon as more then one enemy shows up on screen, it's bad. Looks really great otherwise but the constant stuttering bothers me.

I'm honestly excited for Toukiden Xtreme and Freedom Wars... I wonder if we'll get like a Freedom Wars Delta in a year after release though.

When is God Eater 2 coming

No English dub? A shame. Persona games have really good english dubs IMO.

Yeah. You can find similarities between two different monsters in Soul Sacrifice, they share some basic attacks but each has a bunch of different skills. I can't remember a proper example right now but I remember thinking "this boss plays like this other boss, the animation when doing X is the same. Yet it's quite different". (I'm not sure, could the Harpy and the Griffin share animations?)

It'd have been nice if Edax / Jollux had partially different skill sets and other stuff to set them appart.

Yes, both Harpy and Griffin share animations, but the latter have special attack that'll forced you to take it down as quickly as possible. While it's a major unique, signature attack, the behavior of the boss itself doesn't changed too radically (well to be fair I've yet to fight them in SSD, so it might change). The DLC bosses on the other hand, shows how well were they designed. Wraith and Cat Sith shared the same base model and animation, but both have radically different behavior. So does Troll and Behemoth, if its not because both of them have humanoid as their "feet" it wouldn't crossed in my mind that they share the same template.

Toukiden doesn't have any of this. The difference I noticed is too few to be considered sufficient. For example, Astrapteryx is more likely to take flight and use its diving attack than its fire counterpart, but it only makes Astrapteryx more dangerous than behaving differently (it could said the same to Abyssal Fiend). It's even more a joke when they try to make the alternate boss different but just eventually shows how lazy they are (like Skyshredder sprouting bolt when roaring while it's weaker counterpart doesn't).

Another thing that is different, but also touches on boss design is that they need to make them to actually use moves combo. Both Jollux and Edax have attack that puts anyone near them to sleep. When the attack connects, and some of your team melees fall asleep, most of the time the fatties just let them sleep and attack others instead. Why wouldn't make them slam the ground to wake them hard? Combo moves proved to be fatal and make our approach on bosses who have deadly moves become even cautious. It's only once that I've been wiped out completely with AI partner in Toukiden by Hell's Warden. It happened when I'm put to sleep by its breathing attack and died because I'm low on health at that time. Meanwhile Nagi sleeping beside me, both Hayatori and Ibuki rushed to revived. But as they went, Hell's Warden just decided to used its slow-but-painful charge attack, which ended up knocking out both of the pretty boys. Nagi survived, and sucessfully revived me but the tortoise just finished its sky-beam sharge, hitting both me and Nagi real hard. While this is not exactly a combo move and purely streak of bad luck, it shows how potentially dangerous combo moves really is, especially considering that you can revive fallen team mate on the battlefield instead of being directly sent to starting place like MH. It force the player to not recklessly reviving since it could potentially screw your team and ended up being wiped out.

Been watching a few Dreamcast and Sega Arcade game videos on YouTube .. thinking how cool it would be to have Dreamcast or Model 2/3 games reborn on the Vita ..

From what I remember you're closing in on the end. I think where you are now you had a choice between two places, so you do both of those, do another dungeon, then it is time for the final dungeon. Then you unlock boss rush and time attack, which I found really fun, as I had no idea what I was doing against bosses the first time heh.
