I'm genuinely excited that we finally have a superhero movie shot in 3D. Honestly, has that ever happened before? Avengers was post-converted, Iron Man 3 was post-converted, Winter Solider was post-converted, Amazing Spider-Man 2 was post-converted. Were either or both Thor films shot in 3D? That's all I can think of right now.
It's the second one, after the first Amazing Spider-Man. All of the 3D Marvel films were converted and Amazing Spider-Man 2 moved to a conversion because they moved back to filming on actual film, which is funny since the converted sequel actually has better 3D than the first one.

Ah! I see. Let's just hope it's the first good one then.

No Gambit?

Nice.
Bit it feels strange to see that we are still going to the theaters and watching 3d movies

I mean when I think about watching the new X-Men movie I hardly think "I hope it's in 3d"

Even though it's shot in 3D, I'm definitely watching it in 2D. I don't really believe 3D effect does much for movies regardless. Think I've enjoyed implementation of it in like 2-3 movies total.

I think I might buy X2 on Blu for 2 reasons. I love it, and you get "ticket purchase" towards this movie.

My body is adamantium.

After the Last Stand and Origins, I really enjoyed both First Class and The Wolverine. The latter mostly because of the location, but it was so much better than Wolverine Origins. Hope the terrible posters omen will give us a good movie again.

How does he even fight in comic books? In theory, his powers only give him abilities to adapt so he can survive, not fight.

Kitty Pride power is basically not an offensive power. Yet she can use it to fight. I'm pretty sure someone with a more versatile power like Darwin, can fight.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. :)

No Gambit?
I know I forgot him, Nightcrawler, and Sabertooth. I only added characters I knew were either living or dead (well, Sabertooth kinda dies in X1).

Then some..
It's nice that they actually had the characters pose for posters even if they're not the best.

The soundtrack has leaked on youtube.

I won't spoil anything, suffice it to say...
most if not all of John Ottman's cues from X2 return. Nothing from X-Men 3 or First Class as far as I can tell.

Shame.
I really enjoyed the score in First Class. Very Zimmerish and epic

Sountrack spoilers I guess:

Oh shit they use the best track from X2!

This one.

IMO that is the definitive track of the entire X Men movie franchise. Whenever that kicks in I know I am fucking watching an X Men movie!

Hype meter through the roof.

This is good news.
I'll miss Magneto's theme from First Class though. Hopefully it's still in the movie somehow.

I loved Magneto's theme in First Class. Quite a fan of Henry Jackman.

Magneto's theme from First Class was a variation of Ottman's theme for Wolverine's past from X2.
Since Ottman himself is scoring this one, I guess it's not really surprising that it's no longer being used for Magneto.

Missed this track so much. I hope they sorta tie it to the new cast since we'll be continuing with them in the sequel

As per Magneto's theme:
I was wrong. In one track, the First Class theme does actually reappear alongside Ottman's own Magneto theme from X2. Who knows if that cue made it into the film, but it's on the soundtrack at the very least.

Also, here's a new and insightful interview with Ottman that covers his stance on incorporating material from the other composers (again, spoilers if you don't want to know anything about the soundtrack):

He touches on Jackman's Magneto theme specifically at 41:50.

We're not discussing plot spoilers. Why risk going to the spoiler thread and having the whole movie spoiled?

We're discussing returning musical cues (or the lack thereof) from previous films. That's hardly a spoiler to begin with, and we're using black bars as a courtesy. I'm not taking that discussion to the spoiler thread unless a mod or something tells me to.

Sorry.

No problem, Riddle.

It's just hard to know whether the tags for soundtrack spoilers are returning cues or track names like 'MAGNETO DIES BY FIST THROUGH FACE (0:54)'

I believe First Class takes place in 2020. Accepting a plot bit from Origins, that would make Wolvie ~140ish years old.

Just watched the original X-Men. Much better then I remember it being, but it falls apart towards the end. Looking froward to seeing X-2 again, not sure if I sure rewatch Last Stand or not....

Three new reviews:
It’s an impressive, almost superhuman feat, considering how much could have gone wrong with this ridiculously ambitious time-travelling setup. Singer has taken us back to the entertaining, intriguing early days of the X-Men franchise. And thanks to this witty, inventive and perfectly-paced adventure, he’s managed to secure its future.

The return of Wolverine and many other original X-Men gives a welcome jolt of familiarity to this complex, funny and often spectacular adventure. Director Bryan Singer keeps a sure hand, balancing humour with action and pathos with serious drama.

Video review from JoBlo.They gave it a 9/10.

I just watched the third terrible film last night. I totally forgot that Magneto was depowered at the end. This makes the end scene of The Wolverine make no sense.
Does anyone know if this is addressed?

Magneto has his power at the end of the third movie.

I know its a bad film, but it really is shocking to me how many people say they watched X3 and still didn't see this bit.
