Should I sell my 60GB Playstation 3?

I'm thinking of selling my 60GB Playstation 3 on Ebay, they seem to be selling in the mid to high $400 range. My friend has been offering to sell his 40GB to some friends for $300 flat so I'd make roughly $100 out of the deal. I have a Playstation 2 lying around so the lack 100% backwards compatibility isn't to worrying. The only thing holding me back is the fear that the price spikes in the near future... considering the lack of 60gbs in retail :/ Anyone happen to know the asking price for 60gbs over the last few months?
 
If you really need the money that badly and don't have any other means of acquiring it, go for it.

Surely, you could get more than $400 for it though.

Should fire up your pS2 and play some games on it. Make sure you aren't going to miss that BC.
 
If you really need the money then Sell it. Heck if you like i can take it off your hands for $400 and piece of mind that its going to a gaffer.
 
Keep it. Upscaling is a sweet deal and having the most loaded PS3 SKU out there is good in itself. I've often toyed with the same idea but in the end that $100 won't last you very long and you will end up regretting it.

I'm working full time during the summers... but the money gained now is pretty much used to keep me afloat during the school year since I only work part time during the semesters :P I'm pretty poor right now, my girlfriend paid for dinner for our last 2 or so dates... :lol
 
The 60GB has turned into this sacred cow, but a 80GB should satisfy anyone with a PS2/PS1 collection. It has something like 95%+ BC.
 
I did:D Got a lot of money for it and a PSP:D I kind of regret it at times, but I really don't play that many PS2 games. So I'm just waiting for after E3 to see if Sony announces the white model or not and then I'll jump back in.

I'll still be picking up the MGS4 LE though on day 1!:D
 
I've been thinking of selling mine as well, as i dont play it too much. but i know the day i sell it will be the day they anounce Suikoden 6 exclusively for PS3.

$650+PSP SLIM Ceramic White...so about? $820? I know the guy at my local game stor that I shop at so I got a good deal. I spent most of the money already did...>_>

I just wanted a slimmer, quieter system. I mean the 60GB is great and I do wish i had it at times, but the 40GB really appeals to me! If they can make a newer chip set version with limited PS2 capability I'll pick it up.

E3 can' come fast enough.

Teh book of job sez getta job. Selling your belongings isn't going to solve your problem, you don't need quick cash, you need cashflow.

Doesn't your school have flyers all over the place from advertisment/market research companies that offer you money to come in to take a survey? They were all over the place at my school (some giving you up to $100 for 1 hour of your time) and they were legit. Helps if you're a heavy smoker and drinker for those. :p

And I had Fieldwork calling me every other week asking if I would take place in their market research. But I never did it since I was to lazy and didn't really need the cash.

I have a 60gig for sale for the same deal if he wants another. I can do without the BC if I can make a little cash on the swap to a 40gig.
 
I have a 60GB. The surface is scratched a bit but the system is flawless. Bought it at launch and i rather sell my body than selling PS3 for i think i got the perfect system. No issues watsoever. Not even the GTA4 issues and i've completed the game (only flying rats are left).

Understood. Been there. Still... it does seem like alot of effort just for $100. But I can understand where you're coming from -- good luck!

Mine is in mint shape also, mostly used for Blu-ray and DVDs. I only folded once when I first bought it since I had one die the first week I bought it I have babied this one ever since. I think a 40 would suit me fine since Iam wasting the full power of my 60.

Sell it and buy a dirt cheap PS2 or Xbox. If you're poor, why bother with the current gen? Live cheap and happy.
