League of Legends Championship Series: Season 4

Baron throw!

Counter baron throw!

Counter counter inhibitor throw!

Counter counter counter waiting to kill Genja throw!

EU scene makes the NA throws look shoddy in comparison, we need to work our throw game up.

That was a pretty impressive throw. A real Hail Mary.

I dunno, maybe SK's enormous coaching/support staff hasn't explained to them that when your Nexus is exposed and you haven't even taken an enemy inhibitor yet the Baron isn't actually the thing you should be worried about, especially when your team has huge natural sustain and the enemy team isn't a siege comp.

As ridiculous as that game became after the fight at SK's bottom inhibitor tower when Gambit were pushing in for the win, you have to wonder what CandyPanda/nRated were thinking choosing Vayne/Morg against Lucian/Gragas. They didn't seem to make any effort to force 2v1s with their opening, and Lucian/Gragas were the first two lock-ins for Gambit, so I guess they just wildly over-estimated their 2v2 skill.

Yeah, I'll be the first to say Genja's not a great AD carry, but trying to run Vayne/Morgana into... honestly much of any viable bot lane, much less an early bully like Lucian, I just can't imagine being that cocky.

It's not even strategically sound. NiQ is extremely passive compared to Alex so far and barely roams at all; that means you should run a bot lane that pushes super hard and bullies the opposition out of lane, because you don't have to worry nearly as much about mid lane interference and Diamond's probably going to be busy dealing with his jungle due to lacking threat in mid.

I feel like every team that does well against Gambit puts heavy pressure on the bot lane and forces Gambit to respond, which in turn makes Darien's "crazy antics" into "Bronze level play" since he just dies constantly if he's left 1v1 in top. That was true even when Alex was roaming the map like some kind of apex predator fucking everyone up in the aftermath of ganks and dives, without him there? It should be League 101.

Edit: "Draven's an odd champion, you would think you want to play him aggressively(...) but actually you don't want to kill anyone early until you've had time to stack that adoration passive up." Wut. This is Rivington-esque levels of meta commentary. You absolutely want to kill people on Draven, all the time, even with 0 stacks.

SK v CW was an example of why lane swap games can be boring to watch (I say this as someone who enjoys the tactical side of competitive play a lot). CW made a horrendous error at level one, with YoungBuck getting caught on the wrong side of the map while fredy (Jax) shared experience with his jungler. To make matters worse, he went into lane 1v2, got chunked, lost his flash and was forced to base. He knew he couldn't go back to the undermanned lane so joined his bot lane/jungle late in the bottom lane. Problem is, he was still level 1 while Jax was 2, so his lane was done. SK had the top lane frozen, so Lucian froze it and got solo experience for 5-6 minutes, winning the duo lane for them too. Fredy even managed to sneak a gank on the mid-lane while roaming with his jungler to take cowTard's flash.

Basically when a team makes a macro mistake in a lane swap scenario the whole team falls behind. On the plus side, it meant the game didn't take 50 minutes to play out.

Best mistake from Quikshot today was when he criticised cowTard in the CW/MLL game for farming wraiths when a teamfight started when he was just stacking his knock-up in passing before jumping in.

Any reason why Trundle and Shyvana start with BoRK?
EDIT: Dat assault....

Because it's super sweet.

Shyvana may or may not start with it depending on her match-up and how it's going, she often builds tank items first. Against Trundle, though, building tanking items doesn't give good returns so you build BotRK first instead.

Trundle just has massive in-kit steroids and loves everything BotRK does, especially if he can just steal the tanking stats he needs from Shyv.

Thanks for clearing it up.
THAT FINAL ASSAULT! Shit was too tense!

Why was Trundle building Trinity Force for though?

Yellowpete is benched by EG for Altec. One more casuality from the pre-LCS era old guard. Some say Snoopeh's on borrowed time, but I'm holding out hope for my countryman. He needs to show up this split though or his time will be up too, though.

Madlife (and Shy, but he didn't play the death match) played a superb series for CJ today in their tie against Najin in OGN Masters earlier today. Been impressed by Frost's efforts to chase down the Korean elite in the first half of S4. Hope they can perform strongly in OGN Summer.

Time to enjoy some EU LCS, now with extra inconsistency, over prolonged games and inventive baron throws.

The only way I see Snoopeh staying relevant is if the tanky/CC heavy junglers come back. Snoopeh is just like Oddone. The new carry jungle style just doesn't fit him. He needs to be a frontline tank/cc machine.

I think he's done unfortunately. It's too bad, I like the guy.

The Yasuo pick was completely pointless. NiQ was a dead weight in that game, their comp made no sense.

Gambit could've probably won if they had a proper mid.
