I hate NFC as much as the next guy, but a trophy is like the lamest possible award for buying one.
Very true, that also. I wonder how impossible it will be to get them all. I also wonder if they'll actually be supported outside of japan, unlike the KI:U uprising cards. I don't want to do my NFC shopping on ebay.

What's weird about Smash Link is how inconsistently ugly he is. He looks fine in the pics on the left and hideous in the ones on the right. HW Link looks great in every shot I've seen. Bishie powers increased by 200%

I think his face is... too round?... in smash bros. In HW, his face is much more rectangular.

Buy "Red X" figure and use it on the Wii U gamepad to turn off all items.

It doesn't help that Smash Link has a flat white skin tone, whereas the HW one uses a more dynamic and natural skin tone. (compare the lips and cheeks.)

Pokemon rumble figures were 3.99 each, and they were random which ones you got.
I hope that with this, they ARENT random (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NINTENDO), but I don't expect them to be cheaper than 3.99 each. If anything, they'll be more.
Edit: oops, misread that you said "ITEM" figure. Either way, 3.99!

My guess, as other people have been saying, is that NFC will be used for something not integral to the central gameplay; that would kill the couch multiplayer aspect if everyone needed to have a bunch of figurines. If they were just used for saving custom move sets onto for use on another console, though...that could work. Just buy the figurines for your mains and have them in case you're going to a buddy's house.

Some games may actually NEED NFC. Smash brothers will use it like killer instinct, or something, where it saves some info, like high scores, settings, etc, but nothing really important.

Yes and no. It's likely not delayed, but it is likely to have NFC.

We're all hoping at least. They changed it back. I'm thinking it's a staggered release, with Japan as early as August and Europe in October.

I'm betting on them working as simply fancy looking memory cards that will save specific character data and moves and will also work on other games as well. In fact, I can't think of much else they'd be useful for.
