Games you remember, names you don't

There was the PS2 game I used to play at my friends house all the time. It was kind of like a Mario Party game but you could be like a knight, mage, burgler, and something else. It was really fun I wish I could find it.

Maybe Dokapon Kingdom (http://www.mobygames.com/game/ps2/dokapon-kingdom)?

While having a board game scenario with a spinner that allows the player to move over a game board, this is very much a light role-playing game as it has basic jobs, a battle system, and upgrades. Landing on a spot can trigger a battle, advance the story or introduce a mini-game. It is a 2-player game at all times (with another character controlled by the computer), but up to 4 people can participate.

No screenshots at Mobygames, but it had a cutesy anime-ish artstyle. I would've picked it up myself back in the day, but it didn't seem like a great single player game.

So I want to preface this by saying: I swear I'm not crazy.

The game I have in mind has stuck in my head for years. Thing is, I don't know if it even actually exists or if it was some crazy dream as a child.

Pretty sure it was on the N64. You play as a chicken going through maze-like levels. Lots of bright colors; I think there was a lot of orange. Pretty sure it was part collect-a-thon, but that wasnt the MAIN focus. At the end of each level there is a reporter chicken who would say something before you proceeded to the next. And... Well, that's about it. Like I said, I don't know if this thing even exists... But it's been in my mind for more than half my life!

you sure it's not on the Playstation? Chicken Run, maybe?

PC game
bird's perspective
playing as a robot (1 big cockpit, 2 canon arms, 2 chicken eggs)
2D but with 16bit colours minimum (so not some early '90s game)
map scrolled as you went around the map

Can't remember anything else :(

You certain it was 2d? Sounds a bit like Future Cop LAPD otherwise.

Thank God this thread exist because I been thinking of this game for the longest.

The game was on gamesdomain as a demo, it was a fighting game with all of these monsters, wizards, and knights. It had tournaments and a battle royal mode. I used to play the living hell out of that game and I been chasing after it for so long. If only I knew the name of the game :(

Neither. It looks like Crush Roller, except that the paths you travel are much thinner, and it certainly does have the cloud thing from Qix, I'm 100% sure my memory is not wrong, I played it for hours and hours..

Maybe it's Outline/Radar Zone, but I don't think it has the cloud thing.

Yeah, I know future cop LAPD and the robot design is pretty much identical. And yes, 2D and not 3rd person but bird's perspective, the camera looked like in an RTS

Might be Bedlam.

2D, 3D? Kinda sounds like Iron & Blood: Warriors of Ravenloft.

Thanks for the try, but no, I know Bedlam but that is not the game. Very similar though, but the camera was a lot higher. The game I am talking about is not as old too.

How old would you say it was? A shorter time frame or an exact year helps a lot. There's stuff like Fire Fight and Gromada that have flying vehicles instead of bipedal mechs but I'm guessing that's the kind of graphics this game had, right? The Divide: Enemies Withing also has that kind of robot but the game is fully 3D. There's also the Baldr series, maybe there's something there.

it was 2d actually. The sprites for the characters were kind of small.

Pray for Death maybe?

No it's not. This game is driving me nuts, lol.

I've looked at all arcade Amidar clones I could find for Atari 800XL, try Time Runner and Kid Grid. There should be an Atari 800 XL GameBase somewhere, if you don't mind searching through hundreds of games.

Nope that's not it :/...this is driving me crazy.

ok another example:

The demo of the game only had a dungeon stage and you could pick I think a few characters. The main one was a mage who shoots electric. The sprites were small like river city ransom but no 8 bit pixelation. When you hit dudes in the game the blood stays on the ground. This is all I can think of to help out in my search for the name of this game.

Hmm, maybe it's Little Fighter (1 or 2)?

how long ago was this? 2 years ago? 10 years? That might help.

*edit* oh, I should refresh the page before posting... :)

Was it a fighting game like mortal kombat? or was it more of a beat-em-up like golden axe?

There was this fighting game I had for the Gamecube way back and I always forget the name. You get to transform into animals and there was a tiger, lion, bear, giant bunny, etc. I'm gonna feel stupid when I read what it is. lol

EDIT: BLOODY ROAR!

It wasn't like mortal kombat. It was mainly using powers and kicking throughout the game. You can set up one on one fights, tournaments, and battle royales where there's alot of fighters in the game fighting until there's 1 left. It wasn't a big game at the time, but I remember it being a big hit on gamesdomain.

There was this game I played on my PC a long, long time ago. It was kinda of a shooting game, not First Person Shooter, though, I really don't remember it very well... The setting was the old west and I THINK it was called Outlaws, I've searched for it and it's not the Lucas Arts game.

Desperados?

Looking for a game:

Old PC game, I only ever played the demo. It started off in an asylum, I believe it had an isometric viewpoint or third person and I believe it was point and click.

Quoting my post (from two years ago, lol) maybe someone can help me?

Theres a game I've played with my brother on the SNES back then, which I remember liking alot, but don't know the game's name.

- SNES game.
- The gameplay and weapons are almost the same as Gunstar heroes.
- I just remember one stage that the background is full of rockets (I think the first level?)
- I remember one boss that is basically a flying head.
- My favorite weapon is a weapon similar to Zero's (Megaman) weapon.

Sorry if there wasn't much information, I've only played that game when I was 9-10 years old. :'(

It had multiplayer. There was a move (special?) where the character screams in the air for a full screen attack.

Pylon Trooper, currently on hiatus, offers up the answer.

Full Metal Jacket by Mirinae Software (1996).

time slip ?
hagane ?
run saber ?

i remember this pc game but i forgot the title
it has bird view and it plays like lemmings. you use lots of purple creatures and give them tools to do things.
i remember one says "i hate pogosticks!"

PC game in the 90's. Top down shooter in space flying from the bottom of the screen to the top, you could have a blue or red ship i think and shoot asteroid for power ups. Graphics were pretty good for the time you could see the land/planet under the ship.

Stardust?

Seems like this is the best place to ask,

there was this game I used to play all the time on my old windows 95 computer, it was a trivia game that was kinda like mario party except with kangaros. You move across the game board answering trivia questions and there was a narrator or a host. It was awesome and I'd love to replay it!

but I can't remember the name of it. Anyone know what I'm talking about?!

EDIT: Thanks to all for the help!
Game #1 - Steel Harbinger (PS One)
Game #2 - Windjammers (Neo Geo)

I've got 2 games, let's see if anyone can figure them out.

Game #1 - This was a "bargain bin" PS One game my dad bought for me at an Eckerd's Pharmacy back in the day for like $5 or $10. The story was that some scientists daughter died an so he and other scientists built her into a half human/robot in order to save the world from an alien invasion (bargain bin storyline, lol) Anyway, what was cool about this game is that they had live action cutscenes instead of cgi, one I remember we're two news anchors reporting on te alien invasion only to see one of the reporters get attacked live while the other casually continued with the news.

Game #2 - This was a SNES sport game. It was sort of a "over top view" sport game that I can't remember if it was soccer or volleyball or dodgeball, but whatever it was, since it was an "over top view" game it reminded me of table hockey. A player watching the goal and a few others in the playing field. Sometimes you'd power up and you can hit the ball hard and fast as shit!

Hope someone can shed some light on these. Thanks.

This is a long shot, but there is an older (early 90's if I had to guess) platformer that came out on PC. It had a relatively bland 2d animated art style. I believe you controlled the main character (an adult man?) doing puzzles like find the right key for the right door, etc. I don't even particularly remember it being great, just that I played it a bunch on my grandma's computer.

Steel Harbinger

A PC game from the 90s. It was like Pacman, but you were on blue/silver lines/rails. Very dark game.

It had around 100 levels I think.

Maybe Mega Man Soccer? The power up bits give me that impression.

Damn, the game I'm talking about "somewhat" resembles this, but it isn't MegaMan Soccer. This game's view is reminiscent of the old school GTA before they went 3D with it. I remember you used to pick a team by country to play with (i.e., USA, UK, JPN etc.)

Ok, this game was on the PSone, it was multiplayer supporting up to 4 with a multitap but you could play against bots as well to make up the numbers. It was a sort of action/deathmatch type game and you were in a room which filled the whole screen which was also the entire playing field so you could see everyone (like SSB). The room could rotate making walls into floors and floors into walls. I think each player was wearing coloured armour, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow etc.

Blast Chamber?

Name sounds really familiar, I am sure it was Blast *something* but got it muddled up with another game on PSN that had Blast in the title.

We need a PSN rerelease of that I. HD and all up in your face.

Cheers mate!

This game only fits with some of your memories, but I'll throw it out just in case; Windjammers?
