Amplitude (Harmonix) PS3/PS4 - KS (Funded, final day)

I am seriously considering buying a sony wega tv off kijiji so i can replay amplitude and frequency. Is this needed to play these games without input lag? I found a thread on avsforum, but there were no clear and inexpensive solutions to make these games playable on newer tvs.

Man my congrats, I really didn't think they would make it.

You can get one of Sony's W line TVs instead, the TVs with the lowest input lag on the market(42 inch and above models only). I own one. For kicks I tested it with Guitar Hero II on PS2, using its in-game lag calibrator, my result was 0 frames of lag.

Just get a monitor.

Yup, I've got a w900a and it's lack of input lag is nice.

Now my only problem is, if I have it in game mode, the audio is too slow because of my receiver / surround sound, and the video happens earlier than it :P

And it's done.

So, if I hook up a ps2 to my panasonic s60, will amplitude and frequency be unplayable due to input lag, or will that model's input lag be low enough? I bought it purely for the supposed low input lag when gaming.

I backed a while back so never noticed, but they added a tier where they were offering DLC to US people only? What kind of BS is that. :I

Oh well, nice that it god funded, really didn't expect it.

I went to contribute but then saw the "Access to Kickstarter exclusive song and stage" and decided that I didn't want to put money towards it right now. It made the money it needed anyway though, so that is awesome. I definitely didn't expect it to get backed midway through, even taking into account what I thought it would get on the last day. That was quite the push.
I wish I had my PS3 up here so I could play some Frequency and Amplitude right now. When I get back to the US I guess...

Had to go from $40 to $20 last night because I realized I couldn't really afford it.

Just checked my email and saw that i'm still being charged $40 and only getting the $20 reward.

What can I do about this?

That almost happened to me.
Did you forget to change the amount of money from 40$ to 20$ after picking the lower tier reward?

I hope they can refund you the 20$.

What did I do at work today?
Take my copy of amplitude and played it on the store's PS2
When I wasn't playing it I left it on the title screen which to my surprise had an attract mode :D

Congrats to harmonix and high fives to everyone that donated!
*super excited to get my t-shirt eventually

Over 14k backers. Better grab some popcorn for the credits!

Calling it now, one of the Trophies will be sitting through the credits.
"Kickstart my Heart"

first time I ever backed on Kickstarter. Would've done $35 w/dlc if I had caught it. Did $20 instead.
I've owned FreQuency and Amplitude, along with the Online enabling demo for FreQ. I loved playing them online.

I'm sure there was a minimum Sony was willing to fund to make this happen, just as long as the rest came up.

Interesting way to see if other properties are worth revising.

Lots of PS2 gems that are worth revisiting. Gitaroo Man is another great quirky rythm game on the system. Mister Mosquito was mentioned earlier, that game has a cult following.

And while Sony's at it, I'd like to see a revival of Jumping Flash! at some point. Sony has a huge catalog of PS1/PS2-era oddities which would make great foundations for mid-priced, possibly digital-only remakes/sequels/reboots. I'd be willing to KS a few of them for sure...

New update:

Hey everyone,

It's possible that many of you have read the news regarding recent restructuring at Harmonix, which has led to us say goodbye to a number of talented colleagues and folks we consider friends.

We realize that many of our supporters might have some questions regarding how this might affect Amplitude, and we would like to quickly take the time to address those concerns.

Thanks to the amazing outpouring of support for the Amplitude project, we were able to reach a Kickstarter goal that would enable us to support the development staff necessary to make the game a reality.

Simply put, our promise to our backers and fans has not changed, and the Amplitude project remains unaffected.

We look forward to providing frequent updates on the project starting next week, so stay tuned!

Reassuring to be honest

New KS Update has a lot of cool stuff:

New BeatBlaster concepts:

Pretty cool concepting of what they want to do with the track:

We’re also working on track surfaces and blast effects. For this, we are experimenting with having the pure, musical data encased in a sort of crystalline “data-corruption.” We cannot tell quite yet if it will work well while in motion, but I would love to see whole chunks of the lanes get blown to bits as you successfully release the glowing, musical notes. Lauren is painting it up and at some point, artist Eric Camara will do some in-motion tests that we might be able to share in the future!

More at the link including two new music clips.

Amplitude got me branching out into different genres than I was used to, and it was an incredibly fun game. I've always liked Harmonix's ongoing love affair with Freezepop.

It's unfortunate that I don't have a PS3 atm to get this new one. <=[

Update:

Our crew has been crushing their dev tasks over the past few weeks. We’re currently wrapping up Phase 1, which is dedicated to Engine & Tool Development. The work completed during this phase will get Amplitude’s core game up and running in our new engine. We are feeling pretty good about our current pace and will be moving on to Phase 2 very soon. We’ll provide a new update when we reach Phase 2 and will detail what that phase will cover

Update & Survey:

Hey everyone,

In the spirit of open development, we want to be sure that we are building the best game possible for the specific people that paid for its development. With this in mind, we would like to know which platform will be your main Amplitude machine, PlayStation®3 or PlayStation®4.

Of course, we are going to make both versions great (the downloadable codes will be Cross-Buy), but we may alter some of our boilerplate development practices if we see the numbers swing wildly towards one platform or the other.

Please take a sec to fill out this short survey.

Thanks,

Ryan
