NOA does not release games in July. At all. If a game comes out in July in Europe/Japan, NOA WILL delay the game till August, and proceed to delay any August game to September.
Why is that?
I assume their reasoning is July is the worst month for game sales.

True. Seeing him in recent videos does make him seem better. And with DKs roll attack (finally) and apparent buffs according to the POTD it sounds like I might actually get to enjoy playing as the two giants.... I just hope their recovery isn't crappy with the stupid spins and one being better horizontal and the other vertical. So stupid.. >_>

Does anyone have July titles pushed back besides Pikmin 3? Since I'm pretty sure Pikmin 3 was pushed back so that Nintendo could say they had one major release each month to the end of the year in 2013 starting in august(Pikmin 3 came out in August in US, Wonderful 101 in september, Windwaker HD and Wii Fit U in October, Super Mario 3D world in November, and DKC:TF was originally slated for December before the delay). Seemed like a marketing tactic in that case and not some anti July thing

No guys stahp. Smash will release no later than july 14, i believe. Im going to the dominican republic on the 15th if july and practically praying that this game releases before then that way i got something to play when im feeling bored over there

I totally didn't notice anything about that. So if it does, I'll be super pleased. But I haven't missed a tidbit of info, and I can't recall anything like that.
I think it was during a direct but I don't remember which one.

Any character in this game has been decided for years, if they're following a similar dev cycle as Brawl.
Not in the U.S., and I'd be shocked if this wasn't a worldwide release.
Early August or September seem to be the safest bets, imo.

Yes. Dec-Jan-Feb, Mar-Apr-May, Jun-Jul-Aug and Sep-Oct-Nov. Pretty obvious what they are, depending on the hemisphere.

Last year they planned a Wii U comeback by releasing a game a month. They delayed Game & Wario five months to make it part of this schedule and released it in June. They followed it up by...
Releasing Pikmin 3 in August. Which came out in July everywhere else in the world.

I really want to jump and get a 3DS just for Smash. I'm hesitant because the last thing I want is come E3 Nintendo announces a some sort of 3DS lite.

Sakurai did say making 20 characters is roughly their limit. Though he did include past characters in that statement saying they remake them all from scratch which is a half truth(or an out right lie) for sure. Regardless of what he said, Brawl showed us he and his rag tag crew mean business and I bet they started on at least 20 characters for this new game and when it's all said and done I expect at least 15 of em to get in.
