Ok guys, i won't lie, i downloaded the game as a benchmark, but i ended up playing around 2 hours so is as much as piracy, and also i won't buy the game until is dirt cheap so yeah...

Nice meeting you all, steam threads, pokeGaf, off-topic guys, etc. Bye.

RIP. Didn't even try to come with a story, some respect there.

Is this on Ultra?

Hoping my preorder from Origin is just a Uplay key. I'd hate to have to keep both Origin and Uplay open to play this thing. You talk about poor performance.

While I think lots of people here appreciate a potential ban spectacle, I feel that there's quite a lot of derail going on at the moment. Since it has been proven that with a legit physical copy you can indeed play the game offline, I think it would be unfair to those who actually own the game and want to talk about the performance of the PC version for the derail to continue.

We appreciate the comments, but the meta commentary should stop from this point on. Multiple moderators have already weighed in on this issue, and we know what we're doing. We don't need people debating who gets banned, or gravedancing, or preemptive gloating, or whatever. We'll start to delete more of those sort of posts here moving forward, if they're off-topic.

This does not mean anyone is "off the hook". If someone has posted about playing the game in here, we still expect to see proof. But that's for us to deal with. If people have a question about moderation or want to bring anything to our attention, they should contact us instead of posting in this thread about it. We also don't need people posting in defense or justification for PC piracy. It's really dumb. Don't do it.

Wait until the game is out and AMD/Nvidia has released new drivers, and who knows if we'll get a day one patch from Ubisoft. Easy fix if you are worried about the performance is to stop pre-ordering and wait for reports/impressions.

They have delayed the game for months, I doubt they suddenly have a magic patch to release at the last day.

Well I've preordered on Steam.

I'm on my knees at the throne of Nvidia for one of their amazing day one patches.

Definitely interested in seeing how it works for 560 ti. I'd probably still want to play on PS4 instead, but I do want to know whether my PC can actually keep up or if it's going to be knocked aside too easily already.

They already have new drivers with SLI optimizations for this and Wolfeinsten. They are not on the website yet cause apparently they were for the release of GW2 in China.

By the way, we used to have an Nvidia fellow posting here, having seen him for a while.

if people edit their original posts how will mods tell? of course the ones that were quoted are easy but the ones that are not?

You'd be surprised as development doesn't just stop once the game goes gold, so a patch isn't too out of the ordinary. Also Nvidia already has Watch drivers out, albeit only through Guru3D at this time.

Anyone know if Windows 8.1 or 7 will play this better?

He drinks damnation now :(

One additional note: As part of the measures to return the thread topic to normalcy, anyone who wants to provide proof of purchase for the game can PM Aeana with it. We don't need a constant spam of stuff if there is indeed evidence. Rest assured that we'll continue tracking this issue and follow up on it. But we really don't need other people backseat modding either. Again, if you have a query about this, feel free to contact us. Thank you.

Yeah, 560ti is what I have (paired with 2550k). I need an upgrade, but am trying to hold out for 860 or 860ti next year. Potential iffy performance with 560ti is one reason I'm likely to wait on a cheaper price for this game (well, that and the creeping suspicion that it is going to play way too much like a GTA/AC hybrid for my liking). Though Ubi would have me believe my 2550k is a bigger cause for concern than the 560ti.

Looking forward to the full range of "proper" benchmarks to help me decide if/when I purchase this. Waiting for the late Wii U port might also be an option depending on many factors.

Nvidia are doing something at least.

Working on a Performance Guide for a specific game launching next week maybe? ;)

Among other things, yes.

An international version is on Nvidia's website, and there is a Chinese specific version as well.

I'm in the same boat, but a smaller one, so to speak lol.

I have an iMac (bootcamp I'll use) that has a GTX 680MX 2GB, i7 3.4GHz, and 16GB 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance. I also have a i7 4770, GTX 770 4GB, and the same RAM.

I hope it runs well on both. /crosses fingers.

I wouldn't be surprised if games wanted more threads/cores going into the future, but I'd hate to have us get screwed there when Intel's being slow on their feet and AMD's offerings are kind of weak. One of those two addressed would be better, though it'd probably still feel sort of silly if the i5 2500k is far more capable than the console CPUs, especially as I doubt it matters as much as going multicore in the first place. At any rate the fact the 560 ti on paper compares favorably with the consoles is part of why I preferred going with that for now, it'll be a good baseline until new, preferably cheap computer hardware can curbstomp consoles like the 8800/9800gt did.

... And yeah, I want to know how good it is to goof around in the city. Hacking abilities could make that a lot of fun, but if it's too costly, crowds aren't as interesting to mess with as I want, or it's too easy to get ganked while screwing around that could kill the fun easily.

Well hopefully Nvidia isn't slow with the mobile drivers. Laptop user over here.

OS makes no significant difference, at this point.

I have the same exact specs as you, except I have 12GB of RAM. We'll be smooth at 1080p, with a mix of High/Ultra setting.

The 680MX and 780M are the same card, technically, except for the VRAM difference.

Yeah, I'm sure there is a shift towards more threads going on, but if there are benchmarks that would indicate 8 jaguar cores could ever beat a 2500k under any circumstances I'd love to see them... would have to be something highly parallel, yet not parallel enough (or not possible) to be better run on a GPU. But even then, I'm skeptical until I see benchmarks..

And hell yeah, 8800gt. Beast. Will probably stay on 4 year upgrade cycle for now; 2007 (8800gt), 2011 (560ti), 2015 (860/ti?).

This changes everything.

Anyone want to trade my uplay only version with a Steam one? I'd rather have this in my steam library as well, but dem $15 savings...

Same. I would rather have it with my ever growing steam library, but the gmg savings pulled me in lol.

I have a 4670k running @ 4.2 with a Noctura D14. I didn't win the silicon lottery and I can't get past 4.2. With 8-core consoles being the norm & possible dev lead for the next 7yrs or so and WD being an unoptimized pig (I know updates are coming,) should I be thinking about grabbing an AMD 8-core chip/mobo? They're pretty cheap and I'm not super picky. I knew I should've gone with the 4770k.

I'm running W7 64-bit, have a 280x & 16gb of ballistix. I want to run ultra the best I can without grabbing another 280x and switching out my power supply.

Thank you,
James

I guess I forgot to look and it doesn't come with a code -- figured all recent 780's did.

Bought it on Amazon, by the way.

Oh well.

The code only comes with certain retailers as far as I'm aware.
For the poster above I think you'll be fine. I definitely wouldn't switch from Intel to AMD but that's just me :p

My link has the mobile drivers.
I see no link in your last few posts.

Repost?

There is some CPU optimizations in Win 8 that can make games run better. BF4 makes use of this and you get a noticeable gain by using Win 8 over 7.

Oh derp. I forgot completely about that, and I'm using Win 8

No, hell no. Stick with Intel CPUa.

not reading the thread is awesome.

That being said, am I the only person who thinks this game is awesome?

Nope. I think it's awesome too and I can't wait for it to come out so I can actually play the story. From what I tried of the multiplayer it's great fun.
