Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 8: Put mii in, coach

Sin & Punishment was released internationally on the VC shortly before Brawl was originally meant to be released, and we all saw how that turned out...

Nobody asked for this game unlinke Sin and Punishment.
Nintendo is randomly bringing it to the west for no reason right before E3.
First party game.
We have our retro rep.

The Saki model, and the crowd models look like they come from two different console generations.
:P

Everything except the lighting in this picture screams "PS2 Wrestling game" to me. Right down to the crowd models, they look like they're ripped straight out of Smackdown vs Raw 2008/09/10/11/12 (fuck you Yuke :[ ).

Must see Zero Suit Kirby!!!.

Zero Suit Kirby already exists, though, in Brawl. He just gets Samus' pony tail. :P

? Ken is still very relevant, even though he hasn't been winning national tourneys. He's making a bit of a "comeback" and is still highly respected in the smash community.

EDIT: Completely misunderstood your post.

The 5 Melee gods right now are.

1. Mew2King
2. Mango
3. HungryBox
4. Dr. Peepee
5. Armada

Nobody else even comes close. Ken was a god back in the day, but he just doesn't keep up anymore. He definitely deserves to be invited anyways, considering he was pretty much unstoppable in his prime.
Fair enough, I thought you meant long term God's (people who were considered to be). I don't keep up on the scene now to be honest, but this tournament should be interesting because we'll see how hardcore the game can be, hopefully it will be more melee than brawl when we we see the pros play!

Considering there isn't any wave dashing, immediate impressions from the Melee crowd will be negative I think. They'll say something along the lines of "Eh, it's better than Brawl but still too slow!" That's why I hope this invitational has lots of Brawl players as well.

It looks to me like Sakurai and co. are still trying to make this much more competitively viable, but I don't plan on putting a lot of weight on what the Melee pros say. If it doesn't play like Melee, they'll find if inferior.

Happy birthday, Troubled Bat!

Wavedashing is not what is going to make or break the game for them...

Lots of assumptions and generalizations.

Everyone knows this is slower than Melee, but that isn't what's gonna make them hate the game.

I've seen far more than a handful of people already complaining about the lack of Melee's air dodge. I'll admit that I was generalizing a bit, but it's no secret that the lack of a directional air dodge is one of the most hated things about Brawl as far as the hardcore Melee community is concerned.

So I was looking over the rules to the People's Challenger Contest, and there were a couple of parts that I'm concerned about.

So do you think they'd let me use a clip from the SSB4 reveal trailer in my vid, or am I gonna have to go a different route here?

So he'll get a trophy, his own assist, and be playable or nothing huh.

And sticker, poseable NFC figure, a special Takamaru Dakimakura that comes with every pre-order, a hidden demo of the Platinum NnMJ reboot, and a 52 episode anime series by Studio Trigger.

But no really, you know what I mean brah. A Takamaru AT at this point feels incredibly redundant, and I'd rather there not be one as opposed to a more unique assist.

Well we have Lyn from Fire Emblem so Taka won't be doing much.

I think they said you're allowed to use Nintendo-related content. So you should be all right.

So I just checked that part where Lucario suicides with that aura boost in the Smash Direct and it shows the color change, so yea, it has been there since then lol.

Honestly if Takamaru is in Smash 4 I imagine it may be part of an attempt to revive the character KI Uprising style, perhaps at e3 we'll get a "original game getting translated and released in the west, remake for 3ds/wiiu coming this fall, Takamaru playable in smash 4" to try and help push him and his brand.

If they go that route then Takamaru's moveset could be a mixture of his classic game and however the new game will work
