I don't give a flying fuck about Takamaru. If Platinum was making a Takamaru character action game I would give more than a flying fuck, I would give all the fucks. But I'd rather a Sheik or modern Impa cag from them.
Starts off with neon/sky blue, then turns white, then turns yellow.

I think Sukapon is weird looking enough for the old WTF character but a fighting Virtual Boy couldn't be beat.
I am 100% for this character. His final smash could be blinding everyone.
With Little Mac getting Wire Frame, anything is possible!
He would be top tear as he would give all over characters headaches after 5 minutes of fighting.

Final Smash could be similar to Luigi's negative zone, where the scree flashs (not really, sort of an expanding red from the character, might cause problems for epileptics otherise (I think)) that covers the screen that dissapears, and all characters hitby it are in the 'confused' state fir a while
I think my eyes would hurt after playing on a red/black stage, but I'm all for this.
Virtual Boys seriously look like the cow mechs from MGS4.
I could totally see that thing running around tearing things up.

Were there any stand out Virtual Boy games to draw a stage from? I think it'd be really cool if Nintendo acknowledged the VB in Smash like that.
Mario clash is pretty recognizable I'd say. Would be cool if you were standing on a platform, and shells were flying at you from the background
Apparently the Wario game was excellent.
VB Wario Land's the only real "stand out" game. Mario Clash would probably have the most potential as a stage though:

I wonder if they'd keep the red or at least tone it down a bit though, that would probably get really annoying after a while. Maybe have it as a stage event?

old characters are correct term since it could meant Little Mac, Mega Man, etc; not retro character. I really hope that we see a trailer of playable Takamaru at E3!

Keep in mind that Pit wasn't really redesigned in Smash Brawl for any specific game aside from Smash itself at the time. IIRC, Sakurai talked at the time that he just imagined how Pit could be today if his series had continued and evolved, comparing it to Zelda. I guess Takamaru would receive a similar treatment if he made it as a playable character.

Two weeks, what do you guys expect to see about Smash in Nintendo E3 Direct? 3DS release date is a given, and I expect for one newcomer revealed with 3~5 veteran confirmed in that 5mins trailer. Also, that 90mins long director event, I have no idea what it will be.

Well yes, but at the time of Brawl's development there was no plans to bring back Pit, what I'm suggesting/speculating is that there is a plan for Takamaru to get a revival hence first wetting the waters with Nintendoland, then bring the vc game to the west, announce him for smash bros, and have a brand new game starring him coming out this fall or spring 2015. Basically Takamaru would be added not just for retro but as part of getting western gamers to know who he is and get them to want his new game

They aren't going to reveal unlockable characters with a few exceptions (Megaman, Luigi, and any other third party characters). And Smash is only one part of their e3 showing, it's ridiculous to expect that many character reveals during it
