Not in Watch Dogs. Performance impact of Ultra Textures vs. High Textures is only a few frames per second, so he/she can enable Ultra Textures, then enable as many other options as the GPU can handle.

With 2GB, he/she would likely experience heavy stuttering when using Ultra Textures.

So what does it mean can we expect more game using more than 3gig of ram and make a card like the 780 ti worthless even at 1080p ?

Got my digital key today.

Specs:

Core i5 4670K, default @ 3.4GHz
Radeon 7850 2GB (975/1250 MHz)
8GB RAM
SSD
Win 7 x64 Pro
Catalyst 14.4
1920x1200

How do I enable triple buffering for this game? Tried RadeonPro, doesn't work. Crashes on start. :( halp

Maybe, maybe not. VRAM usage will trend upwards over time no doubt but whether this is the start of a trend, or whether it's just another badly made Ubisoft game on PC, remains to be seen. Only time will tell. I'd err on the site that 3GB of VRAM at 1080p is still perfectly fine.

I just got a 780 ti so I'm little worried i can still return it i don't knows what to do..

So looking at that page with recommended settings it seems the 560 Ti's got acceptable recommendations. I wonder how they match up with PS4 settings though?

But it does sound like it may be a poorly optimized port in general, so I wouldn't be surprised if I was better off playing on PS4 first over PC and PC is... whenever there's a good Steam sale I guess.

Yeah, if you can actually fucking download it.

GeForce Experience hangs, and clicking "Start Search" on manually finding the GPU doesn't make anything happen. I guess everyone really wants that Watch_Dogs update.

Worked fine for me.

The Nvidia article was talking about an in-game console if I didn't misinterpret it - any way to get that working for the "consumer"-version and what does it allow?+
Btw I agree, next card will definitely be Nvidia. If I only knew that AMD provides next to nothing in terms of driver features compared to Nvidia I'd saved up for a more expensive Nvidia card intead of going with my cheap 7870 sigh

btw edited uPlay proof to all my posts in here that show screenshots / talk about performance, hope it's sufficient, otherwise please contact me if more info is required.

Anybody know how big the Steam install is (or any installation will do for an estimate)?

I have 39GB free on my SSD and want to know if I have enough space.

According to that Nvidia page, 4k unlocks some magical features in the game that aren't available in any other mode. I wonder what it is? I'm running it 3440x1440 21:9 w/3 Titans, so I should be able to take advantage of all the benefits that 4k has to offer. There must be a way in the configure file to unlock it.

I don't recall saying that.

I have absolutely no idea. UE4 uses all VRAM to cache textures to reduce stream-in, 4A Engine is super efficient with VRAM, CryEngine is pretty good with VRAM, Dunia is fine, as is AnvilNext. So far, Disrupt seems to be an anomaly this generation.

Worked fine for me.
Yeah, it was probably just crowded a bit as a bunch of people tried to get it but now it's opened back up.
Or you could not use GeForce Experience in the first place, and just download the drivers from Nvidia website :D

Here (64bit version)
I actually WAS trying to download from the site, but attempting a manual search wasn't doing anything. Well, I imagined to get a notification from Experience to download it, so I guess it worked out after all, but thanks.

The first blow was having only the stupid Hungarian translation (no option to change it to English, which is a HUGE disgrace)

No way they couldn't fit English on three (right?) fucking disks. Probably digital has all the languages.

At least that was the case with AC3 on the 360. Disk had Ru-Hu-Cze-Pl subs, GoD was multilanguage.

I've been holding off updated my Windows 8 to version 8.1

I only did this because when 8.1 came out people were saying there were issues with some games. Is this no longer the case, can I update without any worries now?

Has anyone tried the game with the Phenom II X4 940? I have an Athlon II X4 630, which isn't too far below, and everything else is well above the minimum requirements, so I'm wondering if I'll be able to get a decent experience. Otherwise I guess it'll be time to upgrade the processor to an i5 or an AM3+ from AMD....

Nope. It's just Ubisoft way of fighting against distributors exporing their products to various regions around the world (in short: breaking contract), which is totally legit from their part, but it is really bad for a customer like me who wants to play everything in their original language.

Also, I have found the strangest temporary solution. After trying everything I have reinstalled the game from the discs, used the default install location (which is NOT the X64 version of Program files, and I think this might be the key), started uplay offline, skipped the patch, and the game started O_O I am trying to patch it now to see what happens... and it works!

There are still issues with (particularly older) games in Windows 8.1, but those are in 8.0 as well.

I don't recall saying that.

Watch Dogs: 4K Ready

For the ultimate Watch Dogs experience, upgrade your system with a 3840x2160 “4K” monitor. With all settings on max and 4K enabled, every single element of Watch Dogs will be sharper, smoother, clearer, and more detailed, enabling you to see every single detail as Ubisoft Montreal intended.

For a taste of what you can experience at 4K, download the max setting 3840x2160 screenshots below.
Andy, I'm not sure, but from this, it implies there are extra features in 4k that aren't available otherwise. I guess not.:\

It sounds like ubi is being fairly lax with enforcing the release day. Anyone have experience with what time gamefly sends keys out? my order says 5/27 at 10am, but that is sadistic.

Shameful that steam is letting you pre-load before uplay!

Uplay doesn't support pre-loading.

The game is now preloading on Steam, if anyone interested.

Additionally it unlocked in AU/NZ a few hours ago. We didn't get a pre-load period, though; Ubi just flipped the release switch and decided it'd be a good idea to let everyone else pre-load.

No, that just means that a higher resolution enables you to see more detail than you would at 1080p. Everything becomes sharper, clearer, smoother etc. from having a higher resolution and not because it enables some hidden features.

The extra feature is crazy IQ

Before I owned my current LG 34UM95 I owned a 4k Samsung 28" display (TN) briefly and I wasn't all that impressed. I suppose it's good there's no exclusive features for 4k so we all can take advantage of it.

Too bad this doesn't seem to be the case for Origin. With a korean proxy it said it would be available an hour ago. But you couldn't actually start downloading anything. =/

Well, if it's any consolation, it's 2am here and my download still has 2.5 hours to go so it's not like I'll be playing it in the immediate future. ;)

In the most intensive moments. That works out at 45+ the rest of the time. If I set it to locked 60 it'd be a rather depressing table.

Ah :/
Hoping it can still look great on my 7870 and big thanks for showing off all the various settings! Back in the day it was just a matter of going as high as possible, but now some settings are almost invisible even side to side.

hey guys i was looking at the recommended requirements for this game and i noticed that the cpu is an i7 @ 3.5ghz . my question is if i have a lower cpu (i5 @ 3.4ghz) but the rest of my settings are higher then they call for would i still be able to run this game on high. also how difficult is it to overclock my cpu?

currently i have 16gb of ram and 2 sapphire radeon 7950 cards @3gb each running in crossfire mode

thanks guys
