Reading around (reddit and other forums), sounds like the stuttering seems to be caused by pagefile issue. Tons of reports of pagefile getting extremely big the longer they play. Hopefully its a bug and gets fixed right away. Still though, what an absolute mess. Does Ubisoft not have a QA department?

Someone has posted pictures of sweetfx on gaf I think. I remember seeing them, a ton of pictures, though I did look at reddit recently and could have seen that. Though I specifically remember it being gaf and a big imgur album.

You friend should be happy that he got it early. The good thing about the Nvidia driver to me was that it gave me something to do. I went back to try old games, and just a few minutes ago I remembered to load up modded skyrim. So far, I really love the last two nvidia updates. I'm due for a cpu and motherboard upgrade.

Died. This thread has been fantastic so far.
OT: was excited about my gtx 780 SC. Then I saw the VRAM issues. Then I saw what my i7 940 is worth for this game. Now I'm sad =(

I don't think it unlocks until midnight on UPlay, but as far as GMG goes there seem to be severe issues with them putting out codes. The Australian and UK markets still haven't received codes from GMG, and it is several hours past the point when they should have.
I finally just decided to cancel my GMG pre-purchase and go for Steam. I had some extra Steam wallet cash and I'd like to be able to pre-load to play tonight, not to mention given the GMG issues I didn't want to risk it being longer of a wait.
I don't get this either. People already have actual copies of the game and they can't even release a game digitally. It's 2014 god damn it.
Also Steam says 8 hours, until release... Fuck that...

Ok some fraps benchmarks. Default high, 1080p. all 120 seconds. not using day1 patch, 337.88? drivers
Test 1:
Driving around getting some hotspots. Disregard max, that was from me opening the map for a few seconds.
Test 2:
Trying to unlock a cTos tower
Test 3:
Slowly turning into daytime, sunrising, walking around.
Test 4:
Running around fast hacking people
Bench:
8GB DDR3

anyway! back on topic..... it seems some people are getting better performance on lower end rigs than people with titans. typical ubisoft optimisations huh.

I have pretty much the same setup though I'm using an AMD 7950 3G card. Maybe I'll wait on the verdict with 14.6 tomorrow.

I'm a bit scared going into my first PC game that actually demands patches and drivers and what not. All I've played so far are these Lego games, just turn every setting to the max and it works. I truly am a console gamer

Change your mindset and boot the game, put everything on low or off, pick your default resolution, and cross your fingers. If you're feeling adventurous put some things up a notch, and turn some things on then try it out.
If you are on a Nvidia card let the GeForce Experience tool pick optimized settings for you.

If you have a decent rig and don't want fuss, I'd just set the overall graphics to high and 1080p and go enjoy. It is ultra settings that seem to be pushing people's systems.

Actually thanks for posting this. I have never seen the opening yet. The guy seems pretty cool too, very humble opening there.
I don't have anything spectacular, I won't be running this game anywhere near ultra and most likely on high neither. But since this will be the first time I'll have to toy around with the settings, patches and maybe mods when they come I have no clue what I'm doing
I'm gonna play on an MSI GE40 laptop. i7 4702-MQ processor, GTX760M and 8GBs of RAM. So yeah, these Lego games aren't very demanding but Watch Dogs is truly something else.

Look at this prerelease shot. POM or tesselation on the ground, was definitely in pre-release builds. Completely absent from the release game. Also, the game does not nearly look this fantastic imo.
Isn't this an nvidia special optimized games?
