And yeah there isn't any items in the game. You get talents at certain levels to kind of replace that.

Love that there are no items. Just like any other game, play the objectives.

ZPs seems as of late seems to formulate his straw polls to around 10 heroes that he likes playing and stays far away from everything else. It makes me a bit bummed as you don't really get to see a whole bunch of characters played well.. only his select few he enjoys. Which is fine I guess since it is his stream. He is always informative though and explains his processes.

Pooki has been really good lately. I like how he incorporates all characters to his polls and explains everything with detail. He also explains his mistakes pretty well.

Dunk is great - I've actually played games with him. He thinks hes always right a bunch which can get a bit annoying but hes a really good player and understands the different bits that most may not understand.

I really enjoy NickHotS. I actually think he is the best. The sounds of his keyboard don't annoy me as I've been watching Starcraft for years and hearing that stuff all the time. He is probably one of the best players I think and I enjoy watching his games and him playing but he doesn't stream consistently which makes me sad.

I'm not a big fan of Soma as much. He is too 'dudebro' for me and just blanks out most of the time on some of his choices which is annoying. I like Elvine because he is just a nice guy to chat with and answers questions well but he spaces out into his own Skype and causes his team to lose on some moments because he is alt tabbed. Also I'm not a big fan of people that play with Supra because hearing him on Skype is like hearing an annoying 20 year old who doesn't get his way. I would never play with a guy like that.

Haha, one of the reasons I pointed out NickHotS is because he'd probably be the #1 ranked player currently if there was a ladder. I should have put that in. Despite hating the clicking, I do hope he streams more too. Maybe once summer opens up more we'll see him.

Elvine at www.twitch.tv/elvinemod is pretty chill, but as you said, alt tabs a lot. There are a number of other people who play when he's on that do the same thing and it bugs me.

Supra is the #1 reason why we no longer hear team comms when ZP is playing in 5mans. He is annoying.

Yeah played a few games with Jexia and agst her in the past week. I watch her stuff every once in a while but her resolution on her games is so low that it drives me nuts. She said shes getting a new PC this week so we shall see :P
 
This game is so much about teamwork.

Feel like if 2 sometimes even 1 person are not working with the team you just lose.
 
Man.. Kerrigan is just really fun to play because she is so incredibly strong. Enjoying her. Also really growing to love Sonya. Her dmg is just ridiculous. She can keep up lots of pressure and take people out and her stuns with spear and leap are great.
 
Got both skin tints on Kerrigan and Nova now.

Pretty sure I like playing Nova more but Kerrigan seems clearly stronger.
 
Kerrigan is the strongest hero in the game right now. No hyperbole - she's that good. When serious teams run premade setups now, you won't see a single team without a Kerrigan. She's really the only must have hero in the game at the moment.

Also to Turtle! I opened up variety again on my stream. It was really only in the few days post patch that I stuck with a more closed group of Heroes (the ones who were changed post patch). I think the only Heroes I stay away from now are a small group of them that I intensely dislike playing (ie: Witch Doctor). But I definitely hit over 75% of the cast earlier today.

almost no one really pushed, they just hung out at mid waiting for the other teams DK to appear
 
I was actually about to say that their team comp didn't seem so good that it'd get that much of a lead over you. Having the double healer helps a lot, but you have Stitches to help bring them a man down beforehand.
 
Illidan is bad. Or I'm very bad with him.

Not sure yet and don't think I'm playing him anymore. Seems like I shouldn't waste my time.

I thought Illidan was one of the better melee assassin characters?? (out of the characters from Warcraft lore)
 
Getting pretty tired of Murky... You have to have someone on him constantly... It's ridiculous that he can lob his fish bombs over walls you can't see over and take out turrets (that will almost certainly get patched at least).

Literally spent the last 5-10 minutes of a match constantly killing Murky because he would just suicide charge our buildings.

I've had one of those, 100% consumption of my time.
 
Speaking of unbelievably cheap things that are fun when I do them but not when done to me... while my team was 4v5ing the enemies at our core, I snuck out, capped 2 giants camps, then solo'ed their core from 100 to zero as Robo goblin Gazlowe.

Yeah... at first I thought he was an interesting idea for a hero... but it's a bit much when you do have to have someone on him all the time, or else he'd destroy your Core singlehandedly

This happened last night because no one was on him.... our mistake, but still...
 
I opened my Battle.net account on the browser, and there it shows the Heroes of the Storm Alpha to download. Yesterday and other days I checked and it wasn't there.

The problem is, when I go to my Battle.net App (that standalone program to launch all the Blizzard games), it says that i haven't been invited to play this game yet.

Is this good news (like i will probably be in the next wave) or not (like, the game is appearing in everybody accounts).

UPDATE - Strange, just now i saw the e-mail: "Welcome to the Heroes of the Storm Technical Alpha!", but the game still doesnt show in my Battle.net App, and when I try to install it shows the image above (that i havent been invited). Maybe they are rolling the authorization just now...

Saw a few posts about that on Hots forums. Not sure if they were resolved or not.
 
Just had a very competitive game 15-20 mins in it froze for like 5 seconds said reconnecting and it just ended.

Nobody had any takedowns or deaths and couldn't tell if I got xp for it but I did get a game played.
 
Just noticed the icon appear on my launcher.. turns out I got an invite!

I have not followed this game at all yet, so no idea what to expect.. hopefully I'm not hooked to this like I am with HS though..
 
If you can't beat them, join them. Saved enough money to get murky... It's a fun but dirty life style.

It's sick that the bombs can do 1000+ damage to buildings and you can chain them constantly with an upgrade... no mana cost or anything.

That's not snowballing, at least not like how it was before the last major patch... You could literally see a 5+ level discrepency, but it looks like they managed to fix that.
 
My wife was invited to the alpha but isn't going to play it...is it possible for me to use her code or are the invites tied to b.net accounts?
 
I got invited to the tech alpha today. I just installed it.. but I keep getting an error when I log in.

"Game client version mismatch with selected region"

Anyone else know how to fix this?

Usually this only happens the game goes down for maintenance. Only thing I could suggest is restarting the b.net client or reinstall the game.

Huh... the alpha should only flag for accounts made with a US address so I don't know how to solve that error. Go check the official forums.
 
I was boosted very fast due to a few weekends playing in parties. Got to 40 over a week ago. Less than 20 games away from maxing out Hammer's Hero Quests.
 
Based on recent behavior, they're slowing down hero additions and balance patching to way slower than I thought, which also suggests they're still testing way more behind the scenes than I thought. So my prediction is another big patch at the end of this month along with just one hero addition. But no move into beta until like late August. They still have to iterate on the UI stuff and add in a couple more missing features, Custom Games need to come back (they may just be saving that for right when they officially hit beta), Replays/Spectator mode needs to be ironed out but isn't required for launch technically, they have to make a decision on Ranked Queue then roll that out, and there are a few more heroes that are needing some degree of rework (Barbarian is one of them with her way too subpar Whirlwind skill). Oh, and I'd be surprised if hero quests are left this simple.
 
I really like the game, but the minute input lag makes me feel like playing lol again. If they can find a better way to minimize lag impact, I'll be happy.

Are they going to reset the gold gained in the alpha?

Everything will be reset at least one more time, but I'd expect 2-3 more times minimum personally.
