That looks really nice. But I don't like the idea of it being so wide. It has to be practical to use.So I must say that I've really taken a liking to the visual appearance of the recently "leaked" roster, so I decided to recreate it with all of the confirmed characters so far:

I'm not sure if it would be easier to find characters using that.

Dixie's seemed pretty likely since we know he wanted to include her in Brawl. DKC's recent resurgence helps and he probably has some assets and concepts left behind from Brawl for her already.
No guarantees of course and I'm 50/50 on her personally, but it seems like she's got a good chance.

I wouldn't be surprised and honestly I'm not expecting her. If she got in, I think it would have been as a team with Diddy Kong, but Sakurai has since apparently decided that was a bad idea. I expected Dixie this time last year, but with everything we've seen, I'd be surprised if she was included.Will anyone else be shocked and disappointed if Dixie Kong turns out to not be playable? She along with Ridley, Krystal, King K. Rool seem to be the remaining core characters from the established franchises with more than one rep who've appeared in many Brawl and now SSB4 wishlists.
Out of all the four, I wonder how insane Sakurai would be not to include Dixie Kong especially after the Donkey Kong Country resurgence...
On the other hand, a DK newcomer could be why we still haven't seen the new DK stage yet.

Yeah, that'd be cool, but I think it's pretty clearly not happening, and is unlikely to happen in the future, especially since they're moving away from combined characters.
In all honesty if we got another DK rep at this point (which I don't think we will), it could easily be K. Rool just as much as Dixie. Before, K. Rool was unlikely and Dixie was likely because of how Tropical Freeze panned out, but Dixie being scrapped in Brawl and the Kremlings being in Smash run sort of balances the two out as far as their chances go in my mind.
Of course, any DK newcomer (and in all honesty, any non-gamatsu newcomer) looks pretty unlikely to me at this point.

I decided to make a version of my roster denoting which characters I think will be unlockable.
With Ness and Lucas, I think it could go either way, but with EarthBound/MOTHER 2 being back in the spotlight recently, I'd guess Lucas would be the hidden character between the two. I also think Palutena could be unlocked from the start, but I think she'd be well suited for an unlockable character, too. Other potential newcomers, like King K. Rool, Ridley, Tingle, Takamaru, and Isaac, I think will definitely be hidden if they are in the game.

Does that matter? Even if they came after, they were still adapted into the official depiction of Wario. Characters change and evolve. And even then, Sakurai gets sneak peeks at upcoming games all the time, and he works closely with the individual teams/creators for approval. Melee had Roy, Brawl had Lucas and Lucario, and this game has Greninja. You really don't think it's plausible that he was allowed to play Smooth Mooves while it was in development?
Besides, direct link to the fart aside, Wario had been depicted as a gross, gluttonous character within his own series.

so going through the the list(just for fun) I'd predict those locked slots are Wario, Dixie Kong, Metaknight, Falco, Wolf, Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, Ridley, Palutena, Ness Lucas, Ice Climbers, Takamaru, Mewtwo, Jigglypuff, Chrom/Palutena, Mr. Game and Watch, Rob, Mii, Pacman, and Snake. Id be ecstatic if that was the roster. However, I doubt this leak is true. Prettttyyyyy. My guess is that there are like 7 more characters to be released and I'm hoping that they include Ganondorf, Wonderful 101, and good ol' captain falcon.

Uggh, I hope Sonic and Megaman are unlocked from the start. It was stupid having the SSE's big surprise character be someone you knew about 5 months before the game came out, and Snake got unlocked so quickly that it didn't even matter that he was locked. A lot of the fun of locked characters is not knowing who they're gonna be, and when you know who they are beforehand, it kinda takes the fun of them away.
I hope we have some absolutely crazy unlockables this time around, Brawl ones were mostly veterans, clones or third parties everybody already knew about.

Direct that confirmed there would be no switching/transforming characters anymore (which would be core mechanic of a The Wonderful 101 character, I'd imagine), but I held out hope even after that...until this happened:

My hope for Ridley is pretty small, but I wouldn't have hope at all if Sakurai wasn't handling his reveal so strangely.
As for Dixie I would be so disappointed. She is my next favorite after Ridley, maybe even equal. She was planned for Brawl so I have to assume with that and Donkey Kong's main series come back she is basically guaranteed. Her, Little Mac, and Palutena are the characters I just kind of assumed were going to be in no matter what.

Dixie Kong is the one remaining newcomer who I feel is the most deserving. Yes, K. Rool is a villain, and I have nothing against him, but Dixie constantly appears alongside DK and Diddy in merchandise/art, she starred in her own game(s), and she just seems like a more “obvious” DK rep than K. Rool.

Agreed. I love K Rool and want him to be in but Dixie Kong's presence in the games and merchandising is just way more abundant and seemingly she is just more important to Nintendo.
I'd buy it, also imagine the meltdowns if it was Wii U/3DS exclusive lol

Two questions about the order you have here: 1) Why is Ghirahim above Vaati? Is it just because Skyward Sword is a bigger game than any of the GBA ones? Within their respective games, at least, Vaati is a bigger deal than Ghirahim, as Ghirahim is just a flunky. 2) Zant above King Boo? Again, Zant was juts a flunky. Not only was King Boo the main boss twice, he's been a miniboss once, also appeared in a number of spinoff games. I'd say King Boo is more relevant within the Mario series than Zant is in the Zelda series.

Girahim is up higher just because he's more recent and more prominent in the game (you fight him more than once). King boo is so low because he's not the REAL antagonist of the first game, and doesn't have much presence outside of being the last boss in Dark Moon. He's also (despite me saying so in the header of my post) not really that capable of being a playable fighter, and is really more suited to be an assist trophy or stage boss. Zant should honestly be lower on my list, the more i think about it. Definitely below king boo.
I'd love captain syrup to be higher, too, but outside of people who played those games, most people don't know who she is.
