Also what is this about EH stealing content? Details?

From the twitter drama it seems that both SRK and EH steal content from each other. That seems to be the source of EH not showing DK results at UFGT or promoting UFGT much.

Good thing that Anime Fighting Game twitter always gets along wel--oh no wait they're having a massive war.

I'm a pretty responsible person in this community, but stuff like this makes me pretty much completely dodge a large chunk of the community. It's pretty sad, I'm regularly disappointed in these guys :T

Given I'm losing my copy of AE in the GFWL move, if someone has an AE code then I'd be pretty grateful.

I'll be interested in seeing what exact changes they're making to the PC version to get it in line with Steam, particularly:

1) Are the leaderboards, BP, PP etc intact?
2) Is user display name fixed or will it be changeable now?
3) Can you play with people on the GFWL client?

How are you losing your AE copy? If you have the GFWL copy, you should be able to use your CD key to get a Steam copy. Did you lose your CD key?

I'm pretty sure it's only one way, meaning EH's copying SRK. I remember that Jason24cf guy reposting USD's translations, using her exact wording.

You've never known this Enzo? This is like the oldest thing.

Shoutouts to SmokeMaxx not giving a shit and defending Eventhubs. It being such a non issue is totally why this bullshit is even being brought up 3 years later.

Catalyst EH @CatalystEH 15h
@TheKeits @jourdal Adam, getting your IP on #Capcom was easy. We both know you're full of it Please challenge us on this I triple dog dare u

when someone triple dog dares you, you know it's serious

Aren't they going to reset the ladders for all versions anyways?
They did for the arcade version, so I was under the impression they would reset everything for the console version as well...

Worked fine, now I don't have to be that salty, thanks! I really do not want to have to buy the DLC again though. :|

That's how I feel about the PS3 version :/. Glad it worked though. Sucks that there are people who are still getting screwed even though Capcom tried to prevent it.

Yatagarasu monthly update is up: http://yatagarasu-ftg.com/dev-diary/yatagarasu-aoc-developer-diary-may-29th/

They have pictures up of what the placeholder graphics look like, which will probably get tossed around by people as proof the final will be ugly, but what can you do.

No news about general progress or release.

Am freaking out.

It's news though. Is "stealing content" even a thing when you're reporting on the news?

The shit I see on my twitter lol. Shame.

Which is why I don't even have Twitter.

Finally, some quality Ky Xrd play:

Looks like the hologram/glyph is a Venom-style replacement for FRC Charged Stun Edge. I wonder what other design adjustments they've made in response to removing FRC?

This has probably been old news to some following the game closely, but I haven't. Had the game out of mind thinking it wouldn't release here this year.

*edit*

Eh, nvm. Forgot about YRC.

Its funny to see EH accuse other sites of stealing when they still have hacked up versions of thongboy beebop's 3s tutorials on their youtube channel. Like before they were doing anything they were stealing. They've been accused of stealing original content so often that they've resorted to stealing other people's accusations.

The current drama between SRK and EH is lame and a poor reflection of the FGC. Shit is petty and childish. Time to grow up, boys.

So, picking up Street Fighter again to prepare for Ultra (I've kind of been out of it for 6+ months) brings me right back to what frustrates me about my progression as a player.

* Simple things aren't a big deal and haven't been for years. Basic special, super & ultra motions and even reliably do stuff slightly more advanced stuff like kara'ing into Oni's demon from f.mk or hitting Hakan's Ultra I from a blocked f.hk.

* I have trouble moving from crouch to stand in combos, or vice-versa. Whenever I work on Oni's combos, specifically going from c.lp to b.mp, 9 times out of 10 I either jump backwards or get his electric fireball instead of the b.mp to start target combo 2.

* I have no rhythm to my button presses and never get better at timing for combos. Using Oni as an example, I can mash out TC2 into DP (b.mp, b.hp, DP) but occassionally even get that messed up, and timing for stuff that's not a simple chain combo (or that wants me to move from an lp or lk to something else) often eludes me. I practice with Bison's 3xc.lk into scissors a lot (because I also main Bison) to improve my timing but never really get better. As another example, rekkas are just impossible to hit consistently.

I end up trapped in a loop where I feel like at this point it's a physical/mental thing, not going to get better; that I should just stop worrying about it and be happy playing a more simple game, fishing for simple normal->special chains and throws. But then I feel like I'm a scrub for not continuing to work to get better at these.

Basically I have a hard time being happy with Street Fighter and similar games. It's not about winning, either, I don't really expect to win as much because my overall experience & decisionmaking still isn't up to the competition's. I've bitched about this before, I know. Just hate the frustration of not being able to execute well in games that I love.

damn what happened. You would think this would be the golden age of anime where everybody got along b/c of their rise in power, but I guess not

Beckx, you sound exactly like me.
I don't think it's a desesperate thing, though, just that we need WAY more training to finally get consistent at some of those stuff. I'm eager to pick Poison to work on rekkas and small links...

Maybe using a metronome, counting, or listening to music while you practice might help? I know when I started I definitely needed to count or something to keep my button presses rhythmic.

I have that same self-frustrated feeling, except with footsies, mindgames, matchups, and everything else with fighting games lol. I have so many mental blocks that make me feel really stupid while I'm playing.

Steam is updating SF4 and the size of the update is 865.3MB. It's happening! (Just as I'm about to go to bed, SF4 starts updating and Kazunoko tweets that he's going to stream USF4. D:)

Probably. But then I look at guides and read "hit confirming with Oni is easy and fun" and I'm filled with a combination of rage and self-loathing, heh.

No, I have a tin ear and despite trying to pick up instruments when I was younger, never got it. In rhythm games like Miku I am solely watching for the symbols to cross the hit marker.
That sucks. It's definitely a motion-by-internal-rhythm thing, so if you have trouble with that then I can see why input sequences would be so difficult for you.

Alright, Steamworks AE, let's see how this goes.

EDIT: If RIse of Incarnates is actually supposed to run at the speed shown in that video, it's done. It looks sooooo sloooooow.

Beckx: Not being able to do a combo reliably is frustrating but it doesn't reflect on you as a person so it shouldn't annoy or upset you. Practice it a tonne and if it bores you put on the radio or livestream in the background. I know the feel but you just have to work at it. Fighting games are like speedrunning - unless you're a slave to RNG the more you work the faster you go. :)

Yeah, it's needs a little speed upgrade among many things.

Damn, keeping up with this thread post event week just isn't happening.

Congrats Mark on the Tekken at EVO deal expanding.

Big ups to Xrd for coming out before Christmas.

Wow at the EH/SRK twitter beef when there is nothing to gain politically or financially from it. Still laughing at anyone trying to frame Keits as a thief. Nobody should fire shots that blind.

New Mario Kart and I don't own a Wii U. This is terrible.

My dog is barking at two squirrels fighting in my yard. Just thought you should know.

Uploaded some Rise of Incarnates gameplay vids:

Fun for alpha, with some changes it has good potential.

Thank you for the feedback! The game actually looks fun

I know that feel. I actually played guitar when I was younger, but I've always had coordination problems, so it doesn't help my execution in fg's. But it's like you said, just gotta train more and get the right rhythm. As an example, Viscant is a well known case of a guy with coordination problems that succeeded in fighters

I kinda want a pic of that

Egos and unrealistic expectations and things happened. I kinda wanna go in a bit, but I'll hold off. That'd be a lot of typing for no good reason.
