I'm probably going to vote for #Danhiru #Akimo and #Kog. Would be awesome to have a Deejay/Elena/Hawk representative from Japan. Granted I don't think Danhiru will make it out of pools with DJ but hey it'd be great to be proven wrong.

It would definitely save you money to room with someone. That's what I've done every time I've been to a major, at least, and everyone I know who goes to majors rooms with people as well. Hotel rooms are expensive!

You said you were going to CEO this year, right? I might see you there! lol

If you can room with 3 other people you'll be paying 1/4 of what you would solo (assuming split equally). Ples, I find it more fun to get some people and set ups to have in the room.

You save a lot by having a couple of other people with you, and it's more fun to go with more people anyway. Some real povert folks will try to stick even more people in a room, but I'm not about that life (anymore).
 
Managed to score enough store credit to pre-order the 360 Ultra upgrade at gamestop.com yisssssssss

Related but not sure if I should ask in here or the Ultra thread; offhand does anyone know what good options Chun has against Gouken? For some reason he gives me way more problems then any other character I play against, regardless of their skill level.

I'm PSN & Steam, my schedule stinks but when I'm on we can play til you get bored. (For PSN I am far more likely to be on my JP tag than my NA tag.)

Edit: for anyone who watched the stream, sorry for the sound issue. I have to remember to switch sound defaults when I'm streaming. Anyone know of a way to set OBS to always put sound from a particular sound device? I have my PC hooked up to a TV so if the sound is set to go through the TV speakers then the stream will have no sound (largely because I have to use window capture to stream from my hauppauge, OBS doesn't capture directly from it).

Yeah, it just seems like once he gets in I get fucking wrecked. I'm out of the D leagues so a lot less people fall for the EX SBK and even just bait it out. Probably doesn't help that I'm just not too familiar with him at all. That has been one interesting thing in coming back to the game after years of watching FGC livestreams in that for most characters I have an idea of what they can do, but then certain characters/ultras I just never see on stream so I have no idea.

I did finally hit 1000 PP, I've only mostly been playing Ranked because Endless lobbies tend to instantly boot you if you don't have at least 1k PP, so I'm hoping I can get some of that going now.

I think it depends on your personality. I have a very wacky sleep schedule and the personality habits of Oscar the Grouch, so rooming doesn't work as well for me. I love the social, but don't like sharing rooms, especially with guys.

I'm almost as hyped for EVO this year as I am E3. I didn't get into fighting games until around a week after EVO last week, so I missed out on watching all the hype unfold live. Not this year though!

Its not about just the high level players. There was tons of mid level players who could get easy wins because she was so strong in 2012. Like DaFeetLee getting top 8's lmao.

And she was not fun to fight against at all.
 
Yeah... I am awful at SF4 anyway but for now I'm just not going to bother with online. Training mode and asking some local people if they want a game it is for now.

Even when I'm not getting waiting for other player messages (which happens in 9/10 games), it feels like I'm playing underwater. Links are pretty much impossible.
 
rog used to be considered a counter to cammy according to james, but I think he said its not like 5.5-4.5 in the favor of rog. So not even anything to worry about

Pretty sure that's just steam version of SSFAE being unoptimized, will probably be fixed in a week or before ultra. The waiting for other player messages doesn't appear from what I've see on consoles (except before matches).
 
I watched DoFP. It was.. interesting. It was definitely entertaining, but I came out of it feeling like something was missing and it definitely took all the liberties it could to make the resolution as clean and convenient as possible.

Also, one of the best film post-credit scenes ever.
