Those games are so old they're buried deep in our steam backlogs.

Nice tagline to your sale, but you should probably have the games to back it up.

yeah with two digital downloads in the sidebar clocking in at $70, i'd rather buy a shitload of cheap games instead for half the price, thanks

Haha, EA is so cute when they do things like this. It's kinda like when they try to attack Call of Duty each year.

A few weeks ago I finally caved and bought the pc version of Mass Effect 3 (had a used copy on ps3).

Was pleasantly surprised. I have had no trouble with it and it loads up really fast, unlike Steam (steam seems to be pretty slow for me lately).

A couple of weekends ago they had a 40% off sale.

edit: er, probably spoke too soon. store is running like crap right now. Maybe due to the sale.

I got my free copy of Dead Space a while ago never installed it, I'm not redeeming free BF3 out of spite. Your games are no good here, EA. Unless they have giant robots.

Q: One of the things that Steam does is this random deep-discounting of software, and it works well for them. Do you see that as something you want to do?

David DeMartini: We won't be doing that. Obviously they think it's the right thing to do after a certain amount of time. I just think it cheapens your intellectual property. I know both sides of it, I understand it. If you want to sell a whole bunch of units, that is certainly a way to do that, to sell a whole bunch of stuff at a low price. The gamemakers work incredibly hard to make this intellectual property, and we're not trying to be Target. We're trying to be Nordstrom. When I say that, I mean good value - we're trying to give you a fair price point, and occasionally there will be things that are on sale you could look for a discount, just don't look for 75 percent off going-out-of-business sales.

"Dragon Age 2"
"Actually play"

Bwahahahahaha, someone call the ambulance because I think I'm having a heart attack.

Still though, it was nice of EA out of all people to be giving out free games.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Wow finally the savings I've been waiting for on Dragon Age 2, Dead Space 3 and Command & Conquer 4.

Heh.
I bought a bundle of the entire Command & Conquer series, including 4, for $5 a few months ago.

Oh wow, didn't know DS3 scored so badly. That's hilarious, and well deserved considered what they turned the series into

That is the DLC I believe.

DS3 was good, but I didn't enjoy it as much as DS1 or even DS2. Far from the train wreck people make it out to be.

At least they are trying. They don't have the catalog Steam has so I give them credit for doing the best they can with what they've got. This is a great step in the right direction and if it works, they may be ballsy enough to try it on the console digital downloads.

I see Dead space 3 , dragon age 2, crysis 2...
NO
I don't want to play any of those thanks

I am sad that steam is being flooded with shovelware and mobile games though, I gave up looking at the store page updates a few weeks ago and won't use the steam store anymore

I went to check Origin to see if I ever actually started up Dead Space 3 when I got it back in the EA Humble Bundle and found out I still had Titanfall installed which I haven't touched since a week after launch. Thanks, Origin Sale for the extra hard drive space!

Their logic is weird. If my backlog can wait then so can most of these old-ass games.

And technically every DD platform sale is a 'go at steam.'

The only game of those 5 I'd play is Mirror's Edge, which I have on steam. And it was cheaper than 70% off, too.
