I'll just put this out there. I've been playing Super Metroid since Saturday, and today, I beat Ridley with six energy tanks.
Now I better understand why people want him so bad.

Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Music, Wii Party, Pilotwings Resort, Find Mii, Warrior's Way, Monster Manor, and Tomodachi Life could all inspire attacks. And that's assuming Wii Fit is off-limits as well.
Somebody's gotta offer the real talk.
I think the Prime series (and Zero Mission to a lesser extent) does a much better job of conveying him as a badass. Super Metroid at least demonstrates a little bit of his intelligence towards the beginning, but it's really not where he shines.
I think the more casual supporters behind Ridley are just as much motivated by a dearth of alternatives as they are any affection for the character.
Wario is too bootylicious.

Toad's in the same boat as Waddle Dee. Too generic and not enough abilities to make an interesting playable character out of. If they are the character equivalent to a custom stage, literally anything.
If they're just based off games they've starred in, sports equipment, pilotwing vehicles, musical instruments, and stuff from wii play/wii play motion (ice cream cone, UFO, skipping stones, etc), stuff from mii plaza (swords, spaceships, plants, armies, random guns, etc), stuff from tomodachi life (so many random items).

I haven't played Fire Emblem Awakening yet but I'm definitely rooting for Robin over Chrom. Adds more variety to the cast over a third blue-haired swordsman. Obviously Chrom/Luciana =/= Ike/Marth but I feel they could do a better/easier job distinguishing Robin from the others both aesthetically and mechanically.
This would be a great approach for Robin. I've always felt Isaac would play similarly but with djinns instead of tomes but we all know his chances are not the best at this point.
Man, I'd totally give my Mii Falcon's moveset if I could. lol

People are going to be really upset when Chrom is revealed in Smash 4, honestly you guys are just hyping yourself up to be disappointed. You should expect your blue haired swordsman trio and prepare yourself mentally for it

What do you guys think they'll be talking about? Personally, I'm betting on full 3DS/Wii U connectivity explination and how the NFP works on Smash U. Maybe an additional newcomer?

Those are both the epitome of what an assist trophy should be. I definitely want to see them both make an appearance, although Professor Layton is a Level-5 character.
I would make an avatar bet, but with my luck I'd win and then have to come up with an avatar for somebody. That's way too much effort.

As for the awakening rep, I think from a character pick I'd choose Chrom/Lucina and make each other character alts but fill the same slot. However the idea of Robin with a female alt and his alternate colors could have different hair colors and skin tones similar to Villager sounds interesting as well. Itd also give some overall better FE representation than just sword users. His final smash could channel the powers of Naga.

Will there be anyone collating like a masterpost of sorts where all the footage/conferences/tournaments will be shown in case we miss them? There's so much going on, at different times, and across the 3 days it's going to be hard to keep up.
I'm worried I'll miss stuff when it's live too. Do we know yet where everything will be shown? Last year with the WFT reveal, was that livestreamed, because I remember it just happening and I was like - "Oh, cool" - it kinda just appeared, and then there was the video of Sakurai playing against that other dude as well. I don't want to miss anything lest it be spoiled elsewhere.

Yeah, at this point it'll be confirmation bias. "I knew ice climbers would be in, because of the polar bear in smash run" "I knew K rool wouldnt be playable, because of the kremlings in smash run" "I knew Mii would be in because of the tomodachi stage!"

There's a smash roundtable at really late oclock.
Maybe Miis will replace the random slot, and be a Edge Master style character, where he randomly inherits another characters moveset.
I think the biggest reveal they could do, that would blow people's minds, would be a Square-Enix character. Even if it's just a chocobo or moogle. People would go crazy.

Smash is a part of the Main Direct, with a 1 hour developer roundtable and 30 minute Q/A session later that night.

There's a lot of different timetables I've seen around but I've been disregarding them as rumours or assumptions. Not sure if any of them have been confirmed official. I doubt it.

Yeah, I'm puzzled by that as well. In a perfect world, it would be a roundtable to discuss the competitive aspects of the game, but I'm certainly not holding my breath for that lol.
