I just got it delivered today, but it was left at the front desk so I have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up. I'm hoping I'll finally get some karting in this weekend, though my cable modem has been awful the last month so I'm not sure what will happen.

I lurk more than do post in this thread so I don't think I deserve that title. But I've been Karting it up in gaf tourney all week!
Yeah, it was Tomodachi-related, but as you can see in the post I linked, I wasn't saying anything hateful. The irony of my ban is that in my real-life career, I've done a lot of good for the LGBT cause (and domestic violence, and myriad other social issues I've written about as a features reporter). I'm as progressive as they come, with my life's principles being 1) love for all, 2) mercy, 3) forgiveness. But then I make one joke about Reggie being a perv and I'm banned. I understand it was an emotionally-charged thread, but I do wish there was an appeals process here. I guess it just wasn't the right time to be joking around. I'll definitely be more careful in the future.
I just finished 150cc with Kart, and I think I'm done with that game for a while. Thank you based Rosalina on a bike, but there are only so many green shells a guy can take.
And this is coming from a guy who literally played F-Zero GX chapter 7 a couple weeks ago for three hours straight, three days in a row, failing and restarting until I finally beat that fucker.

Hey, I was playing Brawl on my WiiU the other day, trying to unlock characters, and I noticed that no matter which remote, nunchuk and/or classic controller I use, I can't seem to run continuously without the character interrupting the run with a crouch. Also, on the character select screen, I tried moving the cursor upward, and it kept stuttering, suggesting the "down" input was triggering there, as well. Anyone have this issue?

I got it down to Special Cup, and even then I could pretty easily sweep the first three tracks. But suddenly the top two CPUs were unbelievably fast. Finally got it with Iggy in the Biddy Buggy with Cyber Slicks and Cloud Gliders (sweet rig, btw).

Its your controllers, either the analog might have some dirt or its something with the socket. Not that uncommon I think.

I've been in the GAF lobby since last week, but half my friends list are people I know outside GAF so I sort of prefer to use my real name for my Mii.
Feltrol it is for both GAF and my Mii. It's also for my NNID.

More like all of my controllers are being a dick -- even the Wiimote by itself -- but only with this game (Brawl, on the WiiU's BC).
I guess that one Gaffer will have to suck my controllers if Shulk gets in.

blue shell has maybe fucked me... 5 times? no more than that.
I get hit by green shells at least 3 times a race. no exaggeration. you just have to be fucking perfect, and hope to god the items don't kill you too hard.
I experience a problem similar to this on both my Wii U and my Wii: no matter which non-wired controller I use, occasionally it will treat one button press as three rapid button presses. Which makes the game significantly less fun. I called Nintendo tech support and they tried various fixes with me for about an hour before finally going "sorry we can't figure this out, maybe you have wireless interference somewhere."
Anyways the game did at least work fine with Gamecube controllers, at least in my case. Try those if you have any?
I was under the impression you can't use GCN controllers on the WiiU until they release this newfangled adapter doodad?

Single-player Mario Kart 8 is weird. 150cc gave me quite a bit of trouble with item screwage, but I actually found the AI and item luck to be more lenient on Mirror. I was able to knock out all of Mirror in one two-hour sitting, with very few restarts.
D'oh, of course. Forgot about that. I can only play Brawl properly on my regular Wii at present.

My Wii is currently with my brothers at my parents' house. So I have to make do with the WiiU, which means no GCN controllers, and which means unlocking the characters manually since I can't transfer the save data. I was originally doing this for a party this weekend, but if the controls are going to act wonky like this, I think we'll just stick to MK8... which really, is totally fine with me! I just wish I understand why the controllers were acting funny, from a purely scientific standpoint...
Oh, that's not a bad guess. We know nothing about the Tomodachi stage, other than that it exists.

They didn't reveal Wario last week even with the launch of Mario Kart, so I seriously doubt this.
Yeah, that's a bummer. If you figure it out, though, send me a PM! And I'll do the same. It'd be great if our bizarre problem had the same solution.
