...but then Ridley stops his attack mid-air, his eyes wide. He turns around, and Pac-Man is nibbling on his tail.

And then Bayonetta and Cloud Strife hit the scene on the same motorcycle, with Master Chief parasailing behind them.

The trailer closes with Walter White and Jesse Pinkman revealed as a new Ice Climber-style character.

I'm wondering if the edges of the stage might be walled off, since it's inside a colosseum.

Why do people dislike walk-off stages?

They remove the drama of battling for the ledge and replace it with awesome stuff like camping at the edge of the screen. It's also annoying how any serious horizontal hit is almost guaranteed to KO on the smaller ones like Icicle Mountain.

Bridge of Eldin was only tolerable because it was enormous and had a pit occasionally in the center.

Nope, The Arena/Colloseum from the original doesn't show up in Awakening.

It's meant to represent Marth's game, Thracia 776, Genealogy of War, and most of ancient Akaneia.

The only Awakening stage is Arena Ferox.

Game&Watch stages play like that, but others like Sonic GHZ and Yoshi's Island(melee) play a bit bigger.

Apparently chain grabs are still brutally effective? I'm not super-knowledgeable about tournament play, which is where most of the dislike of walk-offs comes from.

Yeah hopefully the stage changes enough like Delfino Plaza that this isn't possible all the time. And no, a Final Destination version wouldn't be nice since I'd want the platforms.

The way Sakurai's comment is worded, I wouldn't expect that. It'll probably create platforms in various configurations, but the ground itself won't move, so it'll be walk-offs all the way. The closest analogy looks to be the Flat Zones.

To be fair, Isaac didn't really stand out to me in Golden Sun. Actually, the only character who really stood out was Saturos. Can we have him instead?

Alot of people like Shulk by himself, he is like mario, you will say yes to him being in a crossover game, that doesnt mean he is your favorite character in that franchise though

Frankly, I don't think Sakurai is that interested in whether a stage is tournament legal or not. He's always seemed pretty disdainful of competitive play.
