Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 8: Put mii in, coach

Things to potentially buy for smash:
  • Gamecube adapter
  • 1 'Smash Bros' gamecube controller
  • ALL NFCs
  • Digital copy of smash for 3ds, idk which one to get for WiiU yet >.<
  • Anything else sakurai decides we should buy... like DLC

So...probably about 150-70&#8364; for games (100&#8364;), controller (30&#8364;-50&#8364;) and adapter (~20&#8364; me thinks) and whatever the cost of all NFC figurines will be XD

I even have a space below my TV where I can keep them like the trophies in Melee :D
 
I hope they reveal the release date for the 3DS version during E3 or I'll be very disappointed. For the Wii U all I want from them at the very least is a release month.
 
I'll buy the games (physical), any limited edition hardware, and any and all NFC figures (I'm a sucker for figures). Considering I don't really anticipate LE hardware, I'm not too worried for my wallet. The NFC tho

Then you're not really getting the full smash experience, which is what everyone else is talking about.

If you want to say "you can always use someone else's", you don't even need to buy a copy of the game lol. Give it up, your post didn't make sense.

If buying two copies of the same game just so I "never leave home without it" is the only way I'll have the "full Smash experience," then I guess I'll just live forever unfulfilled.

You'd buy two copies so that you don't miss out on half the stages and modes.

I'm going to buy everything. I bought a Japanese Wii and game for Brawl so no problem.

That's the problem, you're making fun of what everyone else is saying, even though the stuff you're saying makes far less sense. You're basically just insulting people for the sake of it, even though you're clearly wrong.

- Physical copy of smash for 3DS/Wii U - European/Japanese and maybe US
- Digital copy of smash for 3DS/Wii U (so i never leave home without it)

- LE Wii U if they release one
- LE 3DS if they release one
- Anything else there is

When you say buying only one version means you "miss out on half" the experience, that's technically true, but you need to put it in perspective: each version is a fully-realized Smash game, with a full roster and a full complement of stages, items, and game modes. The existence of two versions doubles that (or, since they share a lot, multiplies it by 1.5.) So each version isn't like half of Brawl or Melee, with both versions together forming one full game.

TTYD is AMAZING. Also, one of my favorite final bosses of all time (the battle music for
the Shadow Queen
would be perfect in this game).

It's partially a joke. I *MIGHT* be able to get the game early, but it would only be a physical copy. In reality, I really want the digital copy, so I honestly might buy both. Probably not though :p

And i think by 2 copies they meant "Wii U AND 3DS" not "2 copies of 3DS"

Especially in this thread where almost everyone knows who the Shadow Queen is thanks to Project M.

Come to think of it, I've never finished TTYD. I stopped right before the final Bowser fight (never even attempted it) and just never went back. I should probably do that some day.
 
Actually, I can easily see Colosseum being my new pick for Final Destination style matches over actual FD. I'm such a sucker for Colosseums!

Add in FE music, and I'm really set.
 
Have there been any details on the control options for the Best Buy demo? I'm awful with just the wiimote, but I have a feeling that that's all that there will be

  • The games, physically
  • Gamecube adapter
Things to maybe get for Smash 4:

  • Control Pad Plus XL
Already have spare GameCube controllers (and at least one cable extender so it can actually reach my couch). Might pick up one of the Smash-themed GC controllers, but it isn't a necessity by any stretch of the imagination, while the CCPXL might be depending on how well I can do without a second stick (we'll see).

As for double-dipping on the same version, physically and digitally... ah, no. No thank you.

I'm actually hoping they release a Smash bundle after the popularity of the MK one. Seems ideal.

That would give me an excuse to buy another Wii U and give this one to my siblings.

I don't know but I would guess that all the set ups will be using the gamecube controller adapter.
 
Random question: has Villager's neutral air attack been shown in any of the screens/videos? It's the only move of his I can't personally recall seeing. I've seen him use some kind of mid-air cartwheel in one of the screen shots, but that could be his air dodge or something.
