With regards to the upcoming Best Buy event, what characters are you guys going to play as? Are you going to try the newcomers, or are you going to be sticking with your bread 'n' butter mainstays?

For myself, I'm going to play as Mega Man, Rosalina, & Little Mac. I might play as Peach, as she's been my main since Super Smash Bros. Melee.
 
Do you guys think we'll get anything significant in the last 2 updates before E3? If I was in Sakurai's shoes, I'd probably use one of these to reveal that a much desired character (like Ridley, Palutena, Chrom, Shulk, Takamaru, Mewtwo, etc.) is only a trophy/AT/Pokeball/Boss, in hopes that people would be too distracted by the E3 hype for there to be a real backlash.

Atlus is too busy pumping out Persona games like there's no tomorrow.

IS was doing Pushmo World apparently. I still say we'll get a trailer at E3. Then we'll get a special Direct in Winter. Then release date Spring 2015.

It's not just a Peppy cameo. Blue Marine is playable! Also I find it weird that it's free for premium until E3.

I'm going to try Mario first, as he's my main and will give the best idea of how much the physics have changed. If I get a second chance to play...that's tougher. I want to say Little Mac or Mega Man, as they are the two characters I've been wanting since Brawl, but for some reason Greninja seems like he'd be the most fun to fuck around with. And he was my starter in Pokemon Y, so I can pretend he's my personal Greninja. :)

If the past stage reveals continue, I could see a Ridley boss reveal. The most I think is maybe a select screen for Monday. Tuesday we'll get a stupid bullshit "get excited for the tournament!" picture which will be replaced with Pacman or whatever.

Also, I'm going with Villager first.

You honestly can't go wrong with a bad ass ninja frog, as Greninja is pretty slick. Now that I think about, I'm curious to see what kind of alternative colours the Blue Bomber will have.

Someone made this mock up after E3 last year, and I thought it was pretty good:

Especially that .Exe scheme. Though, now that he's part of his Final Smash, I guess that's less likely to happen.

I certainly hope that the Tuesday Pre-Digital Event image is a screen capture of Ridley's shadow from the Smash Direct. It seems like the sort of thing Sakurai would love to do, and it certainly would get everyone (#TeamPlayable and #TeamBoss) in a fit before the truth is revealed.

Yeah, it should have the chest circle (or...whatever that is) on it if we do get it, but I'll take whatever .Exe representation we can get. I played the shit out of those games.

Mega Man's alt colors will probably be taken from the Metal Blade, Crash Bomber, Leaf Shield, and a few of his regular attacks.
 
Random Question: If we do end up getting another 3rd party character, who do you think would be the best choice to actually get the most new people playing? Meaning, people who weren't considering a Wii U now actually thinking of picking one up because ___ is in Smash Bros.

Obviously, Mega Man was a great 3rd Party character for that, as I know some people who really are mainly interested in Smash 4 because of his conclusion. But as for another one...I'd actually say Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series would pull in the most new fans. The Kingdom Hearts fanbase is crazy loyal and are already used to moving from console to console to follow the series (seriously, pick a console and stick to it).

While personally, my pick for an additional 3rd party would be Simon Belmont (or Geno, if he counts), but I'm curious who people think would actually be the best for growing the community.

Master Chief, but we still have a full 6-8 months before Microsoft sells off Microsoft Games Studio and they go 3rd Party, so he'll probably have to be DLC.
 
You're crazy if you think the Gematsu leak characters (if they're even legit) are the only newcomers left. We already know of 30 characters and E3 is bound to reveal 2-3 more newcomers. I doubt there would only be 2-3 secret newcomers.

If Brawl is anything to go by I could see the remaining secret characters being less exciting characters and such.

Like Bowser Jr. (well, wouldn't be too bad), or Medusa as a Palutena alt. since I could see Sakurai doing three KI characters.
