So. Shuhei Yoshida resign? Yay or Nay?

So far this year.

Naughty Dog loses one of the best creative forces in the industry as well as a game director mid project
Cancelled a new IP with $100m already spent at SSM. 50 long time staff fired
Launch game Driveclub delayed a full year
Guerrilla games has been working on a new IP for 3 years that "isnt ready to show" and who knows if it will even see the light of day
The Last Guardian killed after 8 years in development

Thats a lot of expensive cockups. I dont know about you but IMO heads must roll.
Idk what but....they were pretty lenient on their studios literally all last gen. Compared to most pubs. Some of the shit they let fly was ridiculous

Gamers care about all the things you just said. The CEO and investors he works for see the PS4 marketshare, units sold and revenue in software and hardware sales and say "give this guy a raise!"

I don't give a shit how well the PS4 is selling.

Drive Club delay was an irritation for me, but this is just ridiculous.

I've been looking forward to this game for years.

And maybe the fact of reality is that the game has been in development too long and was not making any significant process.

My point is you're calling for blood without even knowing the full story yet.

Yo guys I actually read the two paragraphs IGN posted. it's fucking bullshit man it's "according to their sourceS" just like the shit with the whole "AMY HENING FORCED OUT OF NAUGHTY DOG" garbage. i'm not believing anything until yosp whispers it into my ear and i'd advise you all to do the same. the dream is not dead. the dream is not dead.

I have a few friends txt me already about this. Amazing how fast this news is moving.

Of course some of them don't believe it at all. They are going to wait until Sony comes out and says it themselves or after Sony's Press Conference and it is not shown. I know there are some clinging to hope that it is all a prank or it is just a click bait type of thing.

Aren't Greg and Colin pretty close to Shu though? I really don't think they would do this unless they were really sure. I mean they are doubling and tripling down on it on twitter by retweeting multiple times and saying bets lost prior to E3 and whatnot.

And good riddance.

A huge money sink for Sony, Ueda wasted their time and took too much money for a game that won't have that much of an audience judging from previous entries. While I loved Shadow Of The Colossus and in spite of my dubious opinion of Ico, when you take that long developing a game with constant delay and sinking money it should be cancelled.

What if people start screaming about this during sonys conference. It would be so weird. Last years amazing cheering and then a year later rage and hysteria at the conference.

I lost hope of this game a couple of years ago. I think it's quite a relief to be able to get this out of the way once and for all.

Until here it from Sony themselves, I'm not buying whatever IGN is saying. I still wanna believe...please. PLEASE DON'T BE TRUE!

Sad if true, but in the grand scheme of things, this was never going to be a huge mover and shaker anyway. Ico and Colossus were good games, but I never understood the massive amount of hype around TLG.

Can't say this affects me too much, and I bet most other gamers would agree. Essentially, the world will keep spinning in its absence. This game had a serious chance of being PlayStation's Chinese Democracy anyway.

This is better for Sony's PR. That way people aren't expecting it at E3 and raging about it all week. They announced bad news now, then good shit at E3, and people forget the bad news.

They would have "leaked" this ages ago if true. It only hurts them coming out this close to E3. Every fucking journalist is going to attack them about the issue now.

Well, don't people generally think highly of Mr. Yoshida?

You know, praising the way he interacts with fans on Twitter and all that?

I'm saying that Mr. Yoshida is probably responsible for the cancellation if this news is true, so his reputation will undoubtedly be damaged to an extent.

By people that don't understand the way things work, sure.

TLG probably should have been cancelled years ago, it's been in development hell for like 4 years.

Damn man. Sad to see, but hopefully this means the team can go on to make something else now finally?

The team will be split up or fired most likely.

All right so now can we at least get some inside info into WTF happened during development of this game?

Like it must be a crazy story all the shit that went down during its time still being worked on
