As far as I can recall, the predictions podcast was always released after all the big conferences were over
Why? Giantbomb has great cred as a video game site compared to most.
Why? It is a great way to get exposure for your product.

I'm not sure, it's something about having such a cooperate/positioned person at a relaxed show such as Giantbomb's.
It gets great gas mileage.
When trying to change the way people look at your brand and by extension the people that run it, it benefits you to go on a more relaxed show/site that has a some what cult following.

EDIT: I didn't know Polygon had extensive E3 coverage on the scale of the other sites or shows. I guess it doesn't help that their coverage isn't favoured here.

Listening to Alex & Jeff talking about their band was really interesting. Then all the pot/sublime stuff happened. What a crazy drive.
The last Polygon live stream I watched, their EiC looked like he hated his co-hosts. I'm sure their E3 show is amazing, witty and informative.
All that VC money ain't gonna spend itself.

This was actually my first thought.
It will be like we are in the room/cave ourselves!
Released Tuesday since there are embargoed games discussed in there.
They finally have a shoot with working bathrooms, no risk of getting robbed, most likely internet connections that aren't made, and decent lighting.
Great move by them to get a room like this.
