They stole his comrads lives basically, or what was left of them, they weren't merely conflict diamonds(which is probably what those kids thought they were) with big boss losing grips with himself, and his anger coming to a head... he kills them.

Here's my crappy translations of the dialogue that occurred:

HGW didn't originally compose the MGS theme, he just did versions of it for 2 and 3.

I thought the courts ruled in Konami's favor in the end but I'm not sure...I would love to hear that theme again.

We are literally turning fallen soldiers into cash. I wonder if they are going to spin this in a gameplay mechanic, like sending all the D rankers into impossible outer-ops missions just to burn their bodies and get a nice little check in the mail.

As Big Boss yells at the end before the logo shows, the shrapnel in his skull is much longer. I can't tell whether it's the angle or what, but if it is longer and it's filed down... - it doesn't make sense considering the shrapnel was there during the hospital escape under the bandages. However, it wasn't there when Boss slipped into a coma as they were reviving him. Odd.

Honestly it looks like obsidian to me... like it WAS glass, (the shrapnel in the first picture is translucent... which screams glass to me... but in the second one... it looks like it may have been melted off... and formed an obsidian like glass horn... i dont know the chemistry of glass... but thats what it seems like to me...

Although I'm hesitant to compare Kojima's writing to the same level as something like Spec Ops, it's games like these that challenge the saccharine way in which war is represented in a lot of American media.

This is one of the best mornings i had all year, the hype has reached critical levels, the music was an excellent choice imo and i don't want to comment on Kojima's editing skills, for me the man is a genius.
