Whooo! "New projects" definitely sounds exciting and more if they are from Miyamoto-sensei (Just don't look at Wii Music). Tremendously looking forward for tomorrow.

Sure, if that means Fluffy Puppy Simulator.

D'uh, Zelda U.
Steampunk Zelda with a Master Gun here we come.

Damn dude, that sucks. Maybe Tweet Nintendo and ask if they can prepare something specifically for you?

I'm looking forward to it. For every Wii Music Miyamoto's made, he's made a hundred other amazing games.

Well let's think logically. Miyamoto hasn't really developed much or been heavily involved in a game for over a decade. The "ideas" of his that have turned into games over the years have largely been casual junk.

Its most likely some eshop stuff to show off the gamepad, that's not exciting.

Are you actually being serious?

I have a feeling that at least one of these games is related to the NFC Figurine stuff. I'll keep my fingers crossed for something hopefully more compelling than that.

The heck you talking about?

Dude was very involved with Metroid Prime, Luigis Mansion Dark Moon, Galaxy 2, and the entire Pikmin series. The hell his recent ideas aren't exciting...

Miyamoto FPS incoming.
The last time this happened, we got the best game ever made. I'd be up for another Miyamoto-overseen FPS if it retained that level of quality.

Jokes aside, Miyamoto is a actually a big fan of first person. He's the reason that OoT's bow aiming is in first person and why Metroid Prime is as well.
Yep. He also came up with the visor system, which is one of the best parts of Prime's first-person perspective.

Tbh, I think Miyamoto had been engaged more in the development of Nintendo games recently than he was approximately 10 years ago, am I wrong?

I think what's exciting is these are unannounced games (maybe 1 is Zelda U playable, which would still be cool). But there's at least one project not on the release list.

He's usually been credited as general producer in the game's he's involved such as Pikmin 3.

What would you say his contributions to those games were? As an executive producer and head manager of Nintendo software he has his fingers in everything of course, some more than others, but that doesn't make them his games. I just don't think people should get overly excited thinking that its the next "Pikmin" or "Mario", when you look at the portfolio of his work lately. Whenever Nintendo has used his name to back projects publically as "Miyamoto's next big thing" its stuff like Nintendogs or Wii Music that he really is only minimally involved with anyway.

The large portion of his job is making executive and business decisions for Nintendo's software lineups, not involvement in game development.

Play Pikmin 3.

Can't wait to see what Miyamoto's been working on next. Even if its not something we expect, I'm sure it'll be quite unique.
Really charming game but that first boss frustrated the hell out of me. The camera kept getting stuck between the monster and my Pikmin. So they just got wasted without any effort. I like the exploring aspects, but as soon as a big enemy appears it just devolves into chaos and it's no more fun.

Doing what?

No idea on specifics, but by his own account he considers it his own game and was very involved in development. At this point he's probably well beyond any specific role, his insight is valuable in almost every area. But judging by the article (I skimmed, you can find more on your own) he was directly working on Pikmin 3's design.

I love that he'll be talking with the Treehouse, anytime we get to hear insight from Miyamoto about games is good news in my opinion.

I guess "New projects" is a very broad term for a guy like Miyamoto, it could easly be announcing his involvement in Yoshi Yarn.
