OH SHIT, Kojima just tweeted this!

David Hayter voicing a 12 year old confirmed!

Metal Gear 2? Don't get it

Zanzibar land is a fictional country between USSR, Pakistan, China, and... Afghanistan. Maybe the middle eastern map extends beyond a single country.

Actually... this might retcon something but could the plot actually involve the formation of the country? Both games are set in small fictitious states, why not have them come into existence during the game.

I saw somebody asked about the horn looking thing on Snake's head but didn't see an answer...so what the hell is that thing?

C'mon man, have you not been following this game? Almost from the very beginning it was confirmed to be a piece of debris/shrapnel, probably from an explosion, that got stuck in his skull.

I saw somebody asked about the horn looking thing on Snake's head but didn't see an answer...so what the hell is that thing?

Kojima once explained it was shrapnel lodged into Big Boss's head after the accident that put him in the coma. It's seeming now like there might be more to it, though... given we've seen it in different shapes and sizes and he avoided showing the details of the accident in GZ.

It's a stupid fucking thing put in there to physically and symbolically show BB's furthering descent into madness/evil.

Because that couldn't be done by just, like, actually showing him doing those things -- no, we have to be beaten over the head with it because SYMBOLISM!

It could also be making him hallucinate since it seems to be embedded in his brain, it would explain why he's seeing the petals falling when he wakes up in the hospital, the specters of people he's killed, etc.

Well, he's doing crazy shit too.

Probably it was impossible to remove surgically, but over the course of the game Big Boss' body rejects it on it's own which causes the shrapnel to appear to slowly get bigger, as it's being pushed out of his skull. (why it looks so huge in that blood massacre scene...) He'll probably lose it towards the end of the game in some dramatic spectacle.

Basically the interview confirms stuff we already know.

-Gameplay adjusted to player comments
-Box added back in
-Race and Revenge themes
-200x bigger than GZ in terms of content and scale

Whats the point of this interview if you just ask the same **** again ..

OH MY GOD

THIS IS THE GREATEST TRAILER I HAVE EVER SEEN

HOLY SHIT

Kojima has delivered. No matter how bad Sony's conference may be tomorrow, this trailer has single headedly saved E3.

I'm just guessing here but I think Big Boss, due to the shrapnel in his head, will see things that aren't there, like the Volgin character, the petals, and will also see things conjured up by that psycho mantis kid look-a-like.

To some extent it doesn't really matter what's real and what's not, because I agree there's some illusionary stuff going on.
But I think the petals are real anyway :D

Looks like a reflection of the picture-taker

Ohhhhhhhhh.
I was thinking he was holding onto his lapels :lol

So..we'll see the first metal gears then? Not that Rex looking one I mean.

Well, Metal Gear ZEKE was the first true bi-pedal Metal Gear. This Phantom Pain one looks like a modified version of it (similar legs) with the REX head.

Does not bear too much resemblance to TX-55 but honestly that is one retcon I can get behind. It's miniscule.

So..we'll see the first metal gears then? Not that Rex looking one I mean.

Otocon's dad will die and lose his arm, ending the years of Zeke based design. Then baby Otocon is injected with cells from his dad's dead arm which passes on the required memes to build Rex. But until Otocon is old enough they have to deal with some other guy's designs.

Anyone notice that Skull Face has an eye patch now?
Let the theories commence!

He had it a year ago when he steps out of the helicopter. it's a domino mask.
