I kind of believe that we won't have a trailer in DE, the official Smash twitter account only retweet the invitation post but not the DE post from Nintendo Japan. And it hasn't retweet today's pic, something is weird.

He doesn't mention it but I wonder if your fighter also gets heavier when they turn gold. I assume not or else he would have mentioned it.

Pretty good looking stage this morning! I think this stage might get across the importance of collection coins better than NSMB2 itself haha.

Less than 7 hours!
 
New stage on Smash Christmas Eve. It's so perfect and pretty even on 3ds. Can't wait for tomorrow.

Luckily work trip got moved to next week so now I get to watch the invitational. On top of not sleeping right now. I'm waiting for Nintendo's "Conference" tomorrow before I pass super judgement, but I have high hopes.
 
Cool update. Wonder if they'll keep the blur effect.

When I first saw the pic I first thought it was going to be a little easteregg when you used the metal box on this stage.

Nope. It's impossible. I'm sure we've got some cool reveals coming up, but nothing could possibly top Mega Man's reveal. That was pure, distilled hype unlike any I've ever seen.

In about seven hours, we will know... well, I don't know, but we'll know something!
 
I've decided I'm gonna skip the 3DS version and just wait for the Wii U version. Literally none of the 3DS exclusive stages appeal to me in the slightest, except for Tortimer Island which is kind of cute but that alone is not enough to buy the whole game for. I also expect the controls will be really cumbersome on the 3DS for this type of game, on the Wii U it'll look much better (though sadly not in 3D) and you can at least use a nice and comfortable controller. And it has much cooler and more interesting stages.

I've waited over half a decade now for a new SSB game since Brawl, so those couple of extra months of waiting will only be a drop on a hot stone at this point.

guys theres a digital event, a smash invitational and a 90 minute round table for the game, the odds of not having anything new for Smash are staggering low.

I can kind of see where you're coming from. I think a lot of people thought one of the coolest parts of the NSMBU stage was that it wasn't a scroller (Sakurai points it out too), todays stage is what everyone was afraid that stage was at first glance. I think Gerudo and Spirit Tracks look really cool though, along with the Animal Crossing one like you said.
 
That last Ridley gif is amazing Ragnarok. I bow to you.

Also today's update is pretty awesome. Recently played NSMB2 and enjoyed the whole coin centric thing. I like how they incorporated that here.

And today has come so fast. It's finally here. Hoping for a release date today. Anything else is just a bonus. But of course, we're going to be getting a massive blowout of details this week, and I'd like to think my body is ready.
 
Just started on my road trip with the family a half hour ago... Only 11 and a 1/2 more hours.... But hey, at least I can (try to) stream the direct while we are on the road!

well we will see some move/final smash stuff during the tournament which we didn't know before but I'm not expecting anything more.
Maybe a 3DS date but that's already reaching.
