DRIVECLUB gets actual weather effects, screenshots inside

INSANE!!! Fucking INSANE! I didn't think they will actually make this dream come true. Where the hell is NullPointer? Post if you are okay

FH2's one big advantage: gone.

I say this being smart enough to also know "open road" and "circuit-based" are not objectively better than the other, but one having weather and the other not, can be. And usually is.

Infamous' water tech? Who knows, but looks similar!

I can't understand why Sony isn't beating our brains in with their first next gen racer. This deserved some time at E3...this deserved a trailer that showed, in slow mo, how good the rain will look.

Instead, we get a few pics the day after EVERYONE was looking at your conference. This visual trailer would have been nuts had it been shown right before the Uncharted trailer.

Hey, we have the most powerful console...look at how good our water is. DC then boom Nathan. Smh...

Why does it matter? What difference does it make if the game appears during E3 proper and not during their two hour media show? Seriously the only people who care about this stuff must be fanboys.

Can someone explain to me why it's so important to "win" the press conference battle? Isn't it enough that the game exists and looks awesome and is playable? I'm so confused.

I was asking about this the other day.... YES!!! The delay was worth every pixel sweetness this shows.

Looks like I will be buying a racing game which I don't usually

Also the next MS would be soooo good with this new engine!!

How utterly strange that they did not show a trailer at the conference showcasing these weather effects. Looks great..

It baffles my mind and it seems to be a problem at Sony. The suits really need to stay off the stage. That TV part should have been a better story in Forbes or WSJ. They need to stop these long drawn out speeches. Its fucking E3. One of the few times of the year you have consumers full attention. Showcase your damn wares. As much flak as Microsoft get they knocked it out the park.

I'm more concerned about marketing, can you imagine Sony delaying the thing to reach this level of polish to just release it as just another anonymous piece of garbage without a WOW ip? It really needs to be put on front street, because it may not have a thousand cars but it's showing it's probably time to get Yamauchi some help from these fellows for GT7.

It's not. They're giving the base of this game away for free. Anyone with PS+ will be able to play this and spread word of mouth. Sony was right to reserve the conference time for the unsubsidized items. PEACE.

You mean that site people on Gaf complained about taking stuff from Gaf and making articles out of them? You mean the site that just got these exclusive screenshots and someone on Gaf stole from them?

Thanks for these screenshots Dualshokcers.
It was just a little pun to capture the mood people have for the site. I don't really care for them either way.

I'm sorry you were so deeply offended. You can retract your blade now.

Your last sentence does not compute. You think they would be able to do the things on PS3 like Kaz did?

You know I think it's because they want to highlight this at Gamescom instead. Reason being EU is the region where Gran Turismo sells the best for them so it's an important market for Sony as far as racers go. So highlight the game prior to E3 and show again at gamescom

at least that's my take on the situation

For me personally, I was waiting for anything DC in their conference. It has nothing to do with winning, I just wanted to see something new from the game.

And sticking in a new trailer would garner more interest from potential gamers. Like that poster said, you had the world's attention.

I was bummed they didn't show anything. They easily could have tightend it up and cut some of the numbers Shawn droned on about and comic guy. That 40 min just completely lost me.

Anyway, what a phenominal time to be a racing game fan. DC, FH2, pCARS, MotoGp14 soon, the Green Hell back on F5 proper, and Grid Autosport (eh, maybe).

Yep i expect this game to get a big blow at gamescom , EU is the home of racing games .

Dafuq did that have to do with anything in my post? They have the conferences to get you exited for their games. They opened theaters for people to get excited about their games. A shit ton of people tune into the conferences to see about the games.

This is their first exclusive racer for their platform. Why wouldn't you want it to get more attention? It has nothing to do with fanboy crap, it has nothing to do with who won E3. It has something to do with presenting your games at the biggest event of the year for games during your conference dedicated to the games YOU have coming out.

I couldn't care less who "wins" E3. I'm talking, purely, from an eyes on you perspective. Yes it will be there. Who's to say all those people who were at the theaters and who tuned into the conference are going to sit around and wait for every bit of news after?

Seriously...nothing you said was needed and had nothing to do with what I said. Fanboy....I have an avatar stating I believe in the Xbox One and bought a PS4 first.

It's a media briefing, not a consumer show.

He didn't mention anything about "winning" e3. This game would have gotten more exposure if Sony had shown it with the new weather effects, creating more hype, more awareness from the millions watching e3 on TV or elsewhere who perhaps don't visit gaming forums or websites much. The fact that Sony promoted Destiny I don't know how many times during the conference, a third party game, more than their first party title probably rubs fans of Driveclub the wrong way.
