The ironic thing about this is that Vita fans were the ones doing petitions and trying to do what they can to get the game localised and when it finally comes over, it's not on the Vita.

It's a slap in the face, to be frank.

I have the game on PSP, patched the fan translation so will rttp when it's available on PS4.

Why doesn't it make sense? The two systems share very similar PC-like architecture now. Seems like it should be much easier to cross develop on XboxOne and PS4 than PS4 and Vita. They also probably want some sort of home console single player Final Fantasy game since who the fuck knows how far out FF15 and KH3 are.

I mean paying for it and allow an XBO version. Sony never do this.

Nice to see that we're finally getting this game localized. Sad that SE is completely skipping over the Vita for PS4/X1. Seems like I'll still be importing the PSP game. I might consider buying the PS4 version whenever it comes out, but that's a pretty low blow to the people who have been clamoring to get this game localized on the Vita.

Then why the hell did Square troll us like that then? If the game is coming to Vita, don't you think Sony will push it as the BIG game of the year for the platform; outside of Freedom Wars, Over my Dead Body 2, Ratchet Collection Vita, and all the exclusive indie games, they really don't have anything else this year. Having a huge Final Fantasy that we all have been asking for a long time finally come stateside and get the HD treatment on Vita would be a great thing to show off at the Press Conference, yet....they didn't show it, just "stealthy" (not really, but still) announce it on their blog as a "Vita" game...then change it into a PS4/X1 game....

I don't think it is coming to Vita, because if it was, then that version would have been announced alongside the PS4 and X1 versions.

At least we have the fan-translated version to play on PSP or (a Custom Firmware) Vita....

^This. Having it dangled, glistening in front of them on the official ps blog, and then having it ripped away is what must've really did the most damage I think. It's great that it's being localized. But the way it was announced was far to cruel to any Vita owner that wanted this game.

PS4/X1 game (and localization) is obviously a project aimed to the west, not so much to Japan, and either way the Vita is not going to run for much longer, Sony aren't trying to do much for it, at least Nintendo are with the Wii U, but if it was down to Japan only, it would have been a 3DS game, and it's not, so they want this game out on as many current-gen consoles out here.

Vita doesn't have an issue moving software in Japan. This game will release in Japan too yes? Would be odd otherwise. Vita version would have done well in that market is all I'm saying. It would have done less than shitty numbers in the west too given it was vita owners who were going crazy with requesting this game through Jrpgvita and what not. Console only FF players were focused almost entirely on FFXV. Vita is a very developer friendly system so I'm sure they could have kept the good will plus make back some money off the porting. But guess we will never know now

Either way, I don't support this attitude by either SE or Sony.

Jokes aside, this plus the fact that the mistake was made from Square and not Sony makes this whole thing a little more complicated. It's probably the conspiracy theorist in me, but I wonder if there is indeed something else behind this mistake.

It won't sell much on the Xbone. Even last gen with the early JRPG love on the 360, the 360 versions sold poorly compared to the PS3. The bulk of the Xbox's base don't play JRPG's and most of the ones who do likely have a Sony console as well. With the way things are looking this gen,the split will likely be even more pronounced.

So on the one hand, I expected if Type-0 was ever officially localised it would be on Vita, and also that would be where I preferred it. On the other hand, we are getting a localization that most people had given up hope for, and not only that it's an HD remaster. Plus it's another game for my PS4.

This hilarious, SE screws up by not showing FFXV at E3 it was expected but ppl quickly forgot about it since they always come up with some BS. They surprise us with type-0 and quickly regain some good faith from the fans.. But the vita version is missing and it went to hell goddamn it SE you had one job.
